Re: Possible Dark Ride development?

On the subject of dark rides for Alton. I take it you have all seen the four, fantastic documentary's recently released by Peter Lambert. That cover the design and construction of The Fifth Dimension, Terror Tomb, Bubbleworks and Alton's Haunted house. Very interesting and they give you an idea of t...

Re: Galactica - 2016 Air Re-theme

I find it strange how Merlin are installing two VR attractions with similar VR technology but have decided to use different company's for the headsets. Samsung for AT and HTC for Thorpe. With Rollercoasters at least, the group have a history of unifying new installs for multiple parks to the same ma...

Re: Towers Loving Care

The white is a base coat. Has to be applied to protect the track. Looks the same off white base coat that is visible in pictures when it opened in 1994. The rustic look will no doubt be applied afterwards. Hopefully the station and waterfalls get some much needed attention too.

Re: Will Merlin buy Drayton Manor Theme Park?

But Alton Towers is serious competition to Drayton Manor. An hour is not that far away, not for a family day out, it is even less far away when you consider people might stay over a few nights spreading the journey to and from over a few days. I would say this is one of the reasons why Drayton decid...

Re: No Limits and Other Software Quick Questions

What are the specifications of the computer, IE what is the exact video card model and processor model. Generally, video ram does not determine if you can run a game / 3d software or not, as video ram pretty much only holds textures which can usually always be lowered or raised in quality depending ...

Re: Mac vs Windows

Don't get me wrong, I cannot wait for Steam to be fully Ubuntu, im sure it will take over as the gamers operating system of choice very soon. But yea, I believe we have gone a little off topic lol.

Re: Mac vs Windows

OpenGL is not ahead of DirectX in terms of features, you just need to see the developers specification for both API's to see that! It takes much more time for features and functions to be developed and implemented into OpenGL that it does for DirectX, this is because many different company's are inv...

Re: Mac vs Windows

Nope. This has bee tested and Ubuntu, running Steam, and the same games as wind are 20% faster. Native apps for wind ran is Wine are about 2-3% Unix in its current state and the derived Linux states are a lot more powerful and optimised. Linux is used in some cinemas in order to power the 10.2 Surr...

Re: Mac vs Windows

Windows all the way! Windows is the undisputed best gaming platform on the planet. Providing you have the PC to power it, nothing matches the graphics quality, sound quality and pure gaming experience of a PC, and to be fair. Nothing ever will. As for Mac's being faster, unless your using the £6000 ...

Re: Future Developments

I said TTF, not TT, which currently it has took a downturn and is pretty quiet, dead infact to what it was a few months ago. Either way, it will take years and years to build TTF upto what it was, like it was before. If it even will return to a community like it was. I do however have faith that you...

Re: Futur Developments

In my honest opinion, and I have been here nearly a decade! Is that TTF has pretty died now. The core members that made the forum a vibrant place have left. I seriously cant see TTF what it once was, not without the old group of members coming back, and i cannot see that happening.

Re: Had no idea about this Bubbleworks copy

The scenery part of the ride was actually made by a company known as Rex Studios. Their website is not long online, not sure why. The ride was listed as one of their projects.

Re: Benefits debate

I was working, and have worked all my life. Paying alot of Tax in the process too. I recently lost my full time job working 40 hours per week. I am currently looking for work, but under my personal circumstances I am now getting more money off the state each month than what I was getting when workin...

Re: The animatronics problem

I am sure the problem lies with maintenance, yes if its not maintained properly things will break. The trouble is, rides with lots of animatronics means a lot of maintenance, alot of maintenance means a lot of money for upkeep. Thats just how it is. Massive company's that use these robots can afford...

Re: gta v

Take-Two announced in May that they are readjusting their previous earnings estimate of $2/share for fiscal 2013 to $2.25. Fiscal 2013 ends March 2013. Bearing in mind that they had a net loss of $0.71/share for fiscal 2012 (and profit of $1.02/share for fiscal 2011), I think it's quite clear that G...

Re: Forza

The new Forza looks like it could be good. Realistic driving simulation with an open world is a win imo. Even though its not being devolped by Turn 10, but a company here in the UK, it was said at E3, that the same driving physics and graphics engine used in Forza 4, would be used. So we should stil...

Re: gta v

Just to confirm, Rockstar have never showcased any GTA at E3 in the past. So it comes as no shock that they did not show anything this time. They have however announced recently, to their shareholders that one of the 4 titles currently in development at Rockstar will be out by Feb 2013. Seeing as GT...

Well, after this weekend it rained heavily Saturday, Sunday, and Monday all day here in Tamworth. Let alone a heavy downpour today for well over an hour.
