Re: TowersTimes' Summer Festival - 4th August 2018 - Discussion

How are standard passholders going to gain entry to the park? The option to buy tickets for the restriction dates have been removed from the website and they're saying on Facebook that there's no booking option for this date. Just to reassure you, we've got an agreement with Alton Towers that purch...

Re: Dreamworld Australia

Wow. I’m not sure there’s any words to cover how shocking that is. The company has already replaced its CEO (with a generous payout) and is in the process of recruiting a new park manager, but I don’t think that goes far enough given the findings. Something like that is deeply rooted into a companie...

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019?

I’m really conflicted about this. I do really enjoy The Dungeons, but unless they go to significant effort to integrate it with the history of the park and surrounding area then I fear it will feel out of place. Let’s clear up a few rumours to start with though. This is certainly not something for S...

Re: The Future of Nemesis Sub-Terra

Ha. Terror or The Towers will be here. As it always is. Every year, everyone says it's time for it to go. It never does. :lol Aside from the fact that as of yet there’s no indication of it returning? All the other mazes have visible signs of construction and ToTT has nothing. I’d love to be wrong a...

Re: The Future of Nemesis Sub-Terra

I think it would be safe to assume that whatever is going on is not to reopen the attraction.

Something for Scarefest is far more likely given that Terror of The Towers is probably not going to return.

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

That’s much more like it!

I’m not sure anyone really minds Duel, Rapids and Runaway Train opening later, as they never really draw a queue.

Hopefully this extends beyond May half term.

Re: 2015-2019: Possible Developments?

If this is correct (Naughty Mr Walliams for leaking it) then it’s an unexpectedly brilliant IP to have. As long as the project quality is done to the same standard as CBeebies Land and Wicker Man then it could be an awesome addition. Ideally they would also add another high thrill attraction to go w...

Re: TTSP General Feedback

I understand why some of the Shoutbox improvements Robert listed above are limited to the CA's and Team Members, but what about editing our Shoutbox posts? I've noticed a lot of people having to post multiple messages just to correct mistakes in their previous posts, so the editing feature would de...

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

There is absolutely no plans for anything else in the maintenance shed at this stage, and it wouldn't be feasible to have actors in there during Scarefest either. I think most are in for disappointment if you think anything else is going to appear.  Once the issues are resolved with the ride operati...

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

I wouldn’t see them dropping down to a two train operation having much effect throughput wise. On all 7 occasions of me riding, there was always a train waiting behind the one in the station, so even if they did drop to a two train operation, there would always be a train in the station. Also, anyo...

Wicker Man Reviews & Discussion [SPOILERS]

It is time for the Wicker Man to rise!  A fair warning to everyone venturing beyond this point, this topic will contain serious spoilers about Wicker Man. If you've yet to experience the attraction and want to keep things a secret then we suggest immediately leaving this page. With Wicker Man now s...

Re: Travelling to Alton Towers on 19th March 2018

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but as of this moment in time there is no confirmed buses between Uttoxeter and Alton Towers for the 2018 season. I would suggest checking over the weekend or getting in contact with First Buses to see if they intend on running a service.  https://www.firstgroup.c...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

Correct - Not sure where you got "KFC Project" from as it has nothing to do with The Smiler.

The only tenuous link I can think of is the rebranding of the chicken outlet in X Sector from KFC to Fried Chicken Co in 2012, a year before The Smiler opened.

Re: Wicker Man Construction Discussion

There's lots of pathways in and around the ride as it's built over the top of one of the main access roads through the park. I wouldn't expect any of the pathways which run under the ride to be open at anytime other than Scarefest/Fireworks, where they are used for crowd control purposes.  One pathw...

Re: Wicker Man Construction Discussion

Wooden coasters have a lot more variables than their steel counterparts. Also wheel type can make a lot of difference, Wodan at Europa Park changed its wheel type to make the ride significantly faster. It’s not uncommon to test a few different types to get the right speed. The time of day/temperatur...

To clarify on the opening time. It's simply a technical issue with caching on the official website. Everything is as announced and reported by TowersTimes yesterday.

Re: Logger's Leap

It would close early, it's that simple.

The actual setup for Platform 15 wouldn't affect it either, contrary to comment i'ver seen elsewhere, Loggers Leap operated perfectly fine with a train running along that route.

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

A huge step in the right direction.

I'm hoping their new flexible approach to closing times is actually put into practise. They tried it a few years back and it was rarely used.
