Re: Toverland

This park has always been a favourite of mine. Troy is excellent and each addition seems to be adding more theming and immersion.  The layout of the B&M very much reminds me of Gatekeeper, though it's a lot prettier and will look absolutely amazing swooping over the lake.  It looks like I now ha...

Hello all... Tonight, beginning at 7pm, we're giving our forum members access to an exclusive presale for the ScareMazing 2017 event. This is your chance to grab a ticket before they go on general sale tomorrow. We are expecting this event to sell out very quickly as ticket numbers are limited.  Sho...

Re: SW8 Construction Discussion

Right, so we can rule the Fireworks out then. I'm torn between wether they could be doing stuff for Scarefest or SW8... although the time might not be right for installation of lights on SW8, Sappire need to know the plans from AT, so that could still explain why they were onsite... but I still thi...

Re: SW8 Speculation and Discussion

Lateral G's are fine in a flat section of track, as long as the coaster tracks well and remains smooth. I rode Stampida again last week, and although a different manufacturer, the flat sections are hell - and this is after being retracked two years ago. Stampida could be rebuilt from scratch and st...

Re: Fright Nights

It sounds like I need to catch up with The Walking Dead - Currently on season 3 as I'm pretty late to the game and none of those references mean anything to me!

Re: Fright Nights

^ That's for a second, as yet unannounced, IP based maze. :)

It should be a fairly good lineup this year! Only a couple of days left until the announcement now.

Re: SW8 Construction Discussion

I would expect those TV screens to be showing something sooner rather than later. They're not a cheap addition and they'll want to make the most of them before the season ends!

You may be in for more than one IP attraction, even if they're both the same IP...

Platform 15 is also having some major overhauling this year. Think the difference between The Big Top 1 and 2.

Re: SW8 Construction Discussion

I do believe the ride is ahead of schedule by a few weeks. It certainly is going up quickly, though not abnormally quick for a woodie. Most coasters go up very quickly once the foundations are done. Now this part is done you can begin to get a sense of scale from the ride. I'm definitely looking for...

Re: Drayton Manor

I'm not placing the blame on anyone but it shouldn't be so easy to stand up during the rapids - https://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=n0A3XKp5rnU" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Nobody has said anything about anyone standing up... We simply don't know yet and speculation like t...

Re: Fright Nights

I do apologise if this has already been mentioned but this year's map seems to say there is the normal 'actor-led horror mazes' as well as 'scare zones'. True, but then Thorpe Park have never really grasped the concept of a ScareZone and seem to think they're just a crap maze (Blair Witch). Hopeful...

Re: Derren Brown's Ghost Train

I'm rather happy with it as it is currently. Yes, it probably does need 'more' in terms of jumps and scares in the second section, but what we have is a vast improvement over last years version. The finale addition too is very high quality and has lots to look at, which you will miss on the first go...

Re: The Gruffalo River Ride Adventure - 2017

So far it looks like everything I hate about Merlin attraction rethemes. Cheap vinyl coverings on pretty much everything - Why not live up to your second only to Disney claim and use real wood and finishings like every other theme park company? Hastily applied paint and cheap 'finishing' over existi...

Re: SW8 Speculation and Discussion

One of the things that has been overlooked is the company that were demolishing The Flume posted on Facebook they were clearing the area for "the wickerman ride".

Now we have this. :)
