Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

Just to flag this up: As usual, all photos taken from areas of the park fully accessible to the public. Please do not replicate my photos without permission. TowersStreet may use them if they wish. No one here has permission to post my photos on this forum. It's not hard to follow a simple kind requ...

Re: Disneyland: General Discussion 2012

Wow that is mighty impressive. The theming is just stunning, and the whole experience just looks great fun. I'd really love to ride it someday.

Re: Th13teen trimmed yet again?

Wasn't it John Wardley that had said the trims are only there because without them the ride would pull negative g's - and that would then rule out Th13teen as being a family ride as it would be too forceful/stressful for the family market? Yes, John Wardley did say that at the Thirteen evening a co...

Re: Family room for 4 adults? More like 2 adults and 2 hobbits.

Like most others have said, it's not ideal but it's just what you get in family rooms at theme parks. However I have stayed in the Splash bunk beds many a time and never had a real problem with them regarding length, and I'm 6 foot 1 or 2. It is better over in ATH regarding space. I think when booki...

Re: Thorpe Park 2015 Coaster

I don't see how that is the park shooting themselves in the foot at all? Surely it is a good thing that they have such a great range of coasters. They're only other options would have been to install coasters similar to other coasters they have which would be silly or install nothing at all which w...

Re: TEA/AECOM Park Attendance 2011

Ah I love this little document, it always makes an interesting read! IOA had a fantastic year it seems with 29% growth, very impressive. I'm not too surprised to see that Towers gate numbers fell with no new attractions last year; it will be even more interesting to see next years (technically this ...

Re: Movie Park Germany: major improvements for 2013/2014

This is great news and just what the park needs. It will certainly get me back to the park as I love some of the stuff they already have, most notably Van Helsing's Factory and the drop tower! I'd love it to be a Mack but I reckon if that rumour is true that it will be an Intamin or maybe even a Mau...

Re: Nemesis: Sub-Terra Discussion (**contains spoilers**)

But it works, and that is the main thing. I'm sorry, that attitude is what's leading to under-average rides like this even making it to fruition - I could write a song that gets to #1 in the charts, doesn't make it a good song though. Who cares if there's no theming, no thinking or storyline, so lo...

Re: Nemesis: Sub-Terra Discussion (**contains spoilers**)

it's another shipping container, with some black drapes, a few strobe lights and some more actors. When you put it like that, it does seem pathetic. Absolutely no orginality, quality or attention to detail. But it works, and that is the main thing. I was very wary of adding a strobe maze style thin...

Re: Alton Towers Hotel

I'm with Dan on this one. I was looking at prices for going to and staying at Disney earlier and in the summer it is damn expensive, far more expensive than what I have paid to stay at Towers in the summer. And this was looking at Disney's cheapest two hotels.   :) Santa Fe and Cheyenne I gath...

Re: Stealth single rider queue gone :'(

Because it makes people more likely to purchase fastracks. A lot of people will make use of the single rider queue if the main queue is long as they think they can reduce their queue time. However if there is not the option of a single rider queue then the people in question may resort to purchasing...

Re: Stealth single rider queue gone :'(

You do realise that someone with a Mental Disability can queue up in the Disabled queue right? Bit ignorant of you to say that :| Someone lock this topic as well please  ](*,) Well it's true, the disabled queue is pretty useless and they have only done it as an excuse to get rid of the single ...

Re: English Football 2011/2012

Well I don't know who watched the game with all the hype surrounding the crap that is Eurovision, but a win for Hodgson in is first game. It was a pretty woeful performance in my opinion though and typical England. No creativity at all, hopeful play and Norway looked on top for long periods, especia...

Re: 2012 operational cuts

It is a great shame the David Steel has left the resort. I met him a couple of times and he was fantastic to speak to and seemed really enthusiastic about what he was doing. The changes made at the hotels over the past couple of years have been really good also and clearly reflected his hard work. W...

I would not object at all, from what I hear that coaster is the most intense on earth. I hope the 2015 coaster is going to be something like that but more Skyrush size.

It is very intense but fantastic. However one day, once the Intamin roughness sets in, it will be unbearable!

Re: Nemesis: Sub-Terra Discussion (ATTRACTION CLOSED 20-25 MAY)

I'm only guessing based on the fact I'm pretty sure H&S will not allow 40 people in a shipping container like that. Why wouldn't they? You'd just be walking through it in a line.. no different to that and anything like a scare maze, surely? I just don't think it would work. If they want to make...

Re: Nemesis: Sub-Terra Discussion (ATTRACTION CLOSED 20-25 MAY)

There will have to be a split exit from the lifts, I'm pretty sure Health and Safety will be against 40 people in a shipping container at once! So yeah, I fully expect staggered exiting from the two lifts. :) I highly doubt they will stagger people coming through the exit elevators, they can't real...

Re: Thorpe Park 2015 Coaster

You'd like to think their next coaster won't just be a coaster that inverts, they've got enough of them at Thorpe and there is more to thrill than going upside down. I'd love a hyper of some sorts or a woodie. Logic says that it won't invert but this is Thorpe so who knows!
