Re: On-Ride Breakdown Experiences

At Alton Towers, I've been stuck on the Air lift hill and brake run for about 5-10 minutes. Both times for phones. I got stuck on Oblivions lift hill because someone on our car had their phone out. The best one so far was getting stuck on Thirteen right at the end, we came out of the tunnel section ...

Re: If you owned the Alton Towers Resort, what would you do

I'm a huge believer in cutomer/staff interactions and giving people a once in a lifetime moment. Disneyland offer badges that can be bought on your way in to say if its your first time, or if you have ID to prove it, birthday badges. Upon seeing these badges, all staff are trained to pay special att...

Re: Oblivion's future

I think that they should move the queueline around so you dont queue the whole way. Its been a long time since I've seen anyone queue the whole spiral. During quieter times, they should open the stairs that go up, or create a shortcut. As for the ride, I think they should maybe put a tunnel over the...

I miss Ritas old soundtrack. Their Rock station playing classic rock just suited it perfectly

Re: Do you yearn for something big thats not a rollercoaster

I want to see a multi effect experience. 90% of these are horror based, or mild scares...but I'd like to see one actually themed around magic. You walk through a multi room experience, similar to hex, but each room has a "magic trick" It could be simple things like walls going from visible...

Re: What Should Happen Now? (Smiler Incident 2015)

I think keeping the ride closed til next season looks better to the GP What I would do from a marketing perspective is to get the ride fully working ASAP, open up X Sector and have it fully visible to the public with all cars going round, with dummies in the seats and say we are running it full on, ...

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

Kay Burley is an awful person.

Google any story about her and she is always trying to drag something or someone through the mud, she is generally a horrible person and has nothing positive to bring to journalism

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

The media have been a disgrace throughout all of this, that mirror article is ridiculous. Earlier on Central news on ITV they interviewed the guy who doesn't want to be identified and his story was basically... I told staff that there was an empty carriage and they ignored me and sent another one ro...

Re: Largest Queue For Monorail

When I first started going, I was under the assumption that the car park was miles away from the main entrance and that you HAD to get the monorail in. Once I realised that you could walk, I started walking pretty much every time. If there is no visible queue, then I'll get it. One time there was a ...

Re: Thorpe Park - Shark Hotel Discussion

There don't seem to be many reviews for the Shark Hotel so I thought I would add my experience. I went for Fright Nights which cost £114 per person. This included two days entry into the park, a night in the hotel and breakfast the next morning. The hotel staff were all friendly enough, we were book...

Re: Future of the Monorail

I think Alton Towers need some form of transportation from the car park to the front gate, even though I'm someone who doesn't mind the walk, it can be quite taxing on people after a full day walking round. I can't see Alton Towers going for a light rail system, because it would need building, and f...

Thanks!

I'm going for two days so I'm not too concerned with long wait times.

I'm getting really excited now, only 4 days until i go.

Re: What did you ride on your first visit?

I was 15 or 16 so it was 11 or so years ago. I went with my girlfriend at the time, she had been not long before our visit. It was a quite windy october day and the park was empty, we got on all the rides twice. Because it was a really quiet day too, we got to explore a little bit, so we had a reall...

Re: Fright Nights

This is just a general question, hopefully someone might be able to answer. I always go to Alton Towers for scarefest, but this year me and my friends are going to Fright Nights. I just wanted to know how busy thorpe park gets for these days. Every time I've been to thorpe park, I've been extremely ...

Re: Hold on Tight! Here We Go, Here We Go!

I must have been on most of the rides more than 20 times each and I like to consider myself brave and in the category of not holding on, but on oblivion and thirteen, as hard as i try to keep my hands up, sometimes my body just takes over and grabs something. I have managed to do it, but every now a...

Re: Does Th13teen prove that a more elaborate dark coaster has a good market

I think with the speed of a runaway mine train you could have an amazingly themed dark coaster. I like the idea of having multiple rides share an indoor area. For anyone that went to American Adventure back when it was stil around, their Runaway Mine Train was themed around a mountain and mines...th...

Re: Accidents at Alton Towers

I don't think I'd really call these injuries... on RMT ive come off twice with my hands stinging...there are a couple of places in the ride where trees/bushes are within reach...me and my friends have competitions to see who can grab the most leaves on the way round...that can sting if you hit a bra...

Re: Your own secret weapon design

I'd like for Alton Towers to go for something that has been done before, but take it to a level above what has been done before. Take 2 or 3 currently existing rides and mash them all together, obviously, not just a random few ideas, ones that will work well together. A launched inverted coaster? A ...

I think Oblivion needs to be left alone.

The overall design and theming of the ride is fantastic, and apart from the obvious upkeep it should receive it shouldnt be modified in any way.

Re: Nemmy's 20th Birthday

I would love for there to be a small ad campaign, either on TV or just on park along these lines. After being restrained for 20 years, the Nemesis monster has tried to escape once again. This could then lead to new scenery being added/edited. Now my photoshop skills are awful, so you will have to be...
