Re: Heil Tussaud!

*sigh*

Like it or not, Hitler is a historical figure. His impact on the 20th century, no matter how awful, is too great to simply ignore. Some people need to get a life.

Anyway, I'm sure the other folk were just larking about and taking the piss. Hardly a display of anti-Semetism.

Re: I Predict A Riot!

Opportunistic, thieving dickheads. Nothing more, nothing less. Now, time to get the water cannons and rubber bullets in. Failing that? Crack a few skulls. Failing that? Army please. Looting high street chains is one thing (still awful I might add), but destroying homes and small businesses? What abs...

Re: Road to Rust: Summer 2011 - Daily Park Updates/Reviews

Interesting to note that the Efteling queues for August don't sound drastically worse than what we experienced on weekdays in early June. Guess Efteling isn't as bad at managing queues as most would have you believe :)

Re: What is so Good About Lightwater Valley.

Haha. The wider public don't seem to agree. Lightwater Valley is currently rated number 6 out of 7 tourist attractions in the sprawling metropolis of Ripon, on TripAdvisor. Man, Ripon must be one happening joint.

Re: News of the World

And while we're on it, I'm getting tired of the Guardian's desperate mud-slinging. The journalism that uncovered the scale of the phone hacking is to be commended, but now it's fully of daily smear pieces, implying that various other Tory/right-leaning targets are involved where there is absolutely ...

Re: News of the World

What a stupid, immature, selfish thing to do. This attention seeking gimp will now totally alter the news agenda on what is an incredibly serious issue. This moment of lunacy will totally overshadow any important revelations uncovered during the questioning. I hope the throw the book at this twit. O...

Wow. They aint lying. I know you can't tell the future, but would you say the last week of August (weekday) is likely to be a good bit quieter than the above?

Re: Bear & Dar VS LWV, 14-07-11. Pic-heavy.

Nice report. LWV's website seems to imply that school trip season is pretty much as busy as it gets all year. Would most folk agree with this? How long was the average Ultimate queue throughout the day?

I'm possibly going at the end of August and am just trying to guage it.

Re: Queue Jumping Hypocrisy

Interesting topic matey. I'm often inclined to let queue jumping go. Mainly because I'm a flabby, cowardly weakling but also because I visit parks with my good lady. Any personal pride has to take a backseat to my protective instincts towards her. And god knows I bitch and fume and moan about the sl...

Re: Walibi Holland & Efteling - Tips

Sorry Corine. It's still beautiful and dramatic, but not understanding the dialogue dragged the experience down for me (not for a moment suggesting they should be going all multi-lingual and Disney). Walibi Joe! Now you're talking. Here's my tips. Get AS MANY rides on Goliath as possible. Robin Hood...

Re: Nine Rescued from M&D's Coaster

I must admit, I actually rather enjoyed M&Ds 3 largest coasters, in a visceral sort of way. And as bad an a Pinfari SLC sounds, Tsunami is shockingly smooth. Oh, and the 3 train operation is hilarious. 3 trains, 2 platforms, 1 dozy ride op. A wonder to behold. That being said, M&Ds still sti...

Oi. Can it with the anti-Scottish stuff. You English poofs

But seriously, this is shocking. Even for M&Ds. I hope they get absolutely hammered for this. Ropes indeed #-o

Re: Plopsaland De Panne & Efteling - Tips

1. The MUST rides at Efteling (in my opinion) are... Joris en de Draak, DVH, Fata Morgana, Bird Rok and Dream Flight. Absolutely do not miss these. 2. Longest/slowest queues tend to be Bobslee (leave this until a bit later in the day, as crowds tend to flock to it first thing) and DVH. Although DVH ...

Re: Efteling: Hartenhof 2013 and The Future

Indeed. Efteling appears to be unstoppable at the moment, but I hope their expanding portfolio is managed well enough to offset the impact of these amazingly ambitious guest numbers on a day at the park.

Ah, Efteling. I might even get round to that trip report at some point. It's been 2 weels...

Re: Europa-Park: 2011 Discussion

Talking of Europa Park transport, I just noticed while looking at some options myself this morning, that the direct shuttle from Basel airport to Europa is now 33 Euros per adult (as opposed to the rather high flat rate it previously was). This seems like pretty good value for small groups, to avoid...

*jaw hits floor* Smashing stuff there. I hadn't even been considering it until now, but I think I'll have to go next year :D Wise move to go with GCI rather than risk a world's first Mack woodie. Just, wow. Oh, out of interest, Moley... what is it that you don't like about wood? A wood hating enthus...

Re: 2010 TEA Attendance Report

What I find most odd is that obscure Dutch park Attractiepark Slagharen is in Europe's top 25. More popular than Parque de Atraciones de Madrid, Flamingo Land and even Heide Park. And just below Mirabilandia :?

Anyone ever been?

Cheers for the comments chaps. Spike - It all looks fine from the ground (though not amazing). That picture was taken nearly 10 years ago now, so things will definately have improved since. Thorpefandan - In all honesty, I'd choose Efteling. Top quality park with plenty top quality ride experiences....

Walibi Holland 07.06.2011

I have just returned from a rather marvellous holiday in Holland. In this time, we took in 2 days of Efteling and 1 of Walibi Holland. The Efteling report will follow, but at the moment, this seems like a more reasonable undertaking for a humble lunch hour. As usual, there shall be no original photo...
