Re: Universal Orlando Resort

I don't think it's the TapuTapu that's the issue, it's just the park is incredibly popular. Even without the Tapu Tapu you'd still have to wait 3 hours but in a queue line as opposed to in the lazy rivers etc. I don't quite think Universal were expecting that Volcano Bay would be such a huge hit, i...

Re: PortAventura/ Ferrari Land - August 2017

Attraction Tickets Direct are fine, used them before, but I would agree with the guy above and buy direct from the PA website. I'd recommend getting in the main park early and doing Shambhala and Khan, then heading across to Ferrari Land around lunchtime. Everyone rushes there first, so if you time ...

Re: Thorpe Park - General Discussion

Horrible accident, and can totally understand why KMG are stopping operation on similar models to cover themselves. I'm fairly sure these will resume operation fairly quickly though as the incident in Ohio does seem to be a fairly open and shut case of poor maintenance / upkeep from the fair, rather...

Re: Walt Disney World - Disney's Animal Kingdom

So, my view of Pandora - having visited the section of the park twice during my visit, is this: It's a great themed area, however it shows how far Disney are behind Universal right now. Pandora is impressive where Diagon Alley is jaw-dropping. That's the difference. A great addition to Animal Kingdo...

Re: Universal Orlando Resort

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned previously, but Universal no longer allow ANY items to be taken in your pockets on their big rollercoasters, and have set up metal detection scanners on entry to Hulk, Dragon's Challenge etc.

Re: Fun Spot America Theme Parks

Looks quite cool, but $9 is a bit expensive in my opinion! How many rides are you getting?!! $9, roughly equivelant to £7, is hardly loads for a coaster of this magnitude at a pay-per-ride park in a tourist hotspot. Given that White Lightning over at Orlando and Kissimmee's own Wild Mouse, which ar...

Re: PortAventura World

To answer your other question, you can also upgrade your PA ticket to include Ferrari Land on site, but this costs 25 Euro instead of the 10 Euro increase when you buy online.

Re: PortAventura World

You can only buy an advance Ferrari Land ticket in combination with a main park ticket. You select an entry time (10am or 6pm - I recommend 10am!). Moving from park to park is dead easy - literally one gate and you're into PortAventura. They stamp your hand so you can easily move from park to park i...

Re: Orlando & Tampa Trip Help

I've been 3 times before and the thought of a whole day in MK fills me with anxiety. There's only so much forced magic and "This is your dream, god dammit!!!" I can take. Plus it's one of the smallest parks out there. Can easily cover the decent stuff in half a day.

Re: PortAventura World

It gives you a bit of a kick - it's certainly taken quicker than you expect it to, but by that stage you're still getting over the drop. So I wouldn't necessarily say it's a worthy addition, but I'm kind of glad it's there, if that makes sense?

Re: PortAventura World

So I rode Red Force 3 times on Sunday and I think it may just be the best Strata yet. It might not have the punch out of the gate that Stealth has, or the raw speed of KK or TTD, but I loved the rolling launch and oh my word what air time. From the second you crest that top hat to the bottom of the ...

Great reports!

I did the stand-up side on Hurakan Kondor, and yes, I certainly feel there are now question marks around my fertility.

Re: SeaWorld Orlando

In other news Kraken Unleashed will open June 16th! Does that mean Kraken won't be open in early June? Unfortunately so. Although I wouldn't rule out soft openings as SeaWorld do like to do that kind of thing. Even if it doesn't you'll still have two world class B&Ms to experience :) Well that ...

Re: PortAventura World

It probably should be an extension of PA, but the extra price isn't much of a sticking point for me. You can still get entry to PA and FL combined for less than a full price ticket to Alton Towers or Thorpe Park.

Re: What do you think should replace CCL?

As much as I understand why people would appose an area based around an IP, the reality is that, from a business perspective, IPs sell - especially in the family market.

Re: Alton Towers - General Discussion

I thought I'd do a quick comparison against some of Europe's other premier theme parks with regards to opening times and gate price during an off peak day in June. Alton Towers: 10am-4pm - £52.80 Efteling: 10am-6pm - €37.50 (£32) PortAventura: 10am-8pm - €47 (£40) Europa Park: 9am-6pm - €47 (£40) Ph...

I go out there on 4th June, so I'm well happy with that announcement. Wasn't expecting it to open until July-ish.
