Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

I do agree this seems stupid, that there isn't much to say about it at all. 3 places you can look: Blue Peter - The Smiler, pause at about 5:24. In the back you can see the KFC logo surrounded by what looks like tracks of The Smiler. This might be, as you say, thinking about adding the KFC to the r...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

Hello. On a recent project revolving around The Smiler (which is my favourite ride) I am focusing on the theming and story line of the ride. I have got most of it (I think) about MOJ and The Sanctuary etc. but have come across a few things talking about the 'KFC project'. Is this anything actually ...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

The first wave of tickets for the Thorpe Park Annual Pass Preview Day went on sale this morning. The park will be open between 10am-4pm and the Eventbrite website has the following information about the day: - For one-time-only, join us in the marquee throughout the day for eXpo:\2018 – a celebratio...

Apologies for the double post, but we have another Valkyria update courtesy of Andreas Andersen.

This thing is looking seriously impressive. I can’t wait for the day I finally get out to Liseberg.

Re: Land of the Tiger - 2018

Chessington have posted a new video on their Facebook page confirming that their 4 new tigers have safely completed the journey to their new home. Adventurers, here is Oli's final update. Our tigers arrived safely at Chessington this morning! Tsar, Olga, Kyra and Kalinka are bedding into their new h...

Re: Th13teen - General Discussion

With that in mind wouldn’t you find the whole experience better if the drop wasn’t trimmed? Heck they could have done away with the second lift hill if they took the trims out. Let’s build a coaster with a fast, pacey layout and then make it slower because it’ll wear the wheels out too quickly. The...

Re: The Walking Dead: The Ride

https://i.imgur.com/3HOVXNb.jpg Thorpe Park have revealed the ‘headliner’ attraction for The Year of The Walking Dead will be The Walking Dead: The Ride . THORPE PARK Resort is overrun by Walkers and there is but one goal: survive. Making it to the sanctuary of the Safe Zone is vital for salvation....

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

It looks great, and it also seems to have picked up a fair bit of speed since the first testing video we saw. I haven't yet seen anything that gives me reason to be apprehensive about Wicker Man. From what we've seen, it could very well be the most highly themed coaster at Towers, and I for one am g...

Re: Liseberg

Another update from Andreas Andersen via Twitter, showing that the trains for Valkyria will have the softer, vest style OTSR’s that are now commonplace on B&M coasters.

I do like the “Liseberg” detail on the restraint, it’s a nice touch.

Is that a new B&M track modification or have a lot of B&Ms got them little holes in the cross ties?

I believe it’s something as I’ve never seen it on any other B&M’s.

As for what it’s for, I don’t know :)

Just out of interest, what is a ride takeover?

Essentially, a ride takeover is where there’s a group of us big enough to fill a whole ride vehicle (or more).

The Blade takeover is always a highlight of any event at Towers.

Re: Wicker Man Construction Discussion

It all looks brilliant! I especially like the rune markings and flags/bunting that are dotted around the ride area and queueline.

Every time I see new photos of how this project is progressing, it makes me want to see it in person even more! Thankfully we don’t have long to wait.

Well you obviously forgot about the Octonauts train then...  https://www.towerstimes.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/20150321_img_1388_hursty.jpg Let me rephrase that: the best themed original trains on park ;) The CBeebies stuff is obviously high quality, because it has to be.

I personally love the trains, the level of detail and theming looks excellent and, in my opinion, they’re the best themed trains on the park right now.

So when are people expecting that the opening day will be announced?

I would expect some time in the next week or so. If it is to open on opening day, they can’t leave it too much longer to announce it or they risk people not being able to arrange plans to visit.

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

Apparently the fog machines and some of the lighting was added for the images, so we should expect less lighting and fog :) That’s quite normal for promotional images, remember the amount of lighting The Smiler had when those images were released? I still believe that the Wicker Man will look brill...

WOW. That’s all I really have to say about the photos. Yes, they may have been edited to enhance the image but it doesn’t take anything away from how good the Wicker Man structure actually is. I’m really looking forward to seeing the whole thing finished and running, with all the effects working. I ...

Attraction Images have been up in the air again and posted some new aerial photos. The first is a close up of the area around the station and lift hill which shows work is still ongoing in and around the small building next to the Wicker Man structure. The second is of Mutiny Bay and shows a bus an...

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach

There seems to be a notable lack of excitement for Icon on TTSP compared with all the other enthusiast forums, I can't quite put my finger on why :? Despite its relative lack of inversions, I still think Icon will be a brilliant coaster, potentially one of, if not the, best in the country. I’ve alw...
