Re: Scarefest

There has been some suggestions that MAP discount is available on the day Also there is normally a quota held back to sell on the day - so make your way to box office on arrival! Obviously to guarantee entry/time book online, but you may pay more. If doing The Welcoming it's worth waiting for dark (...

Re: Scarefest

ohh, that's wild. do you know what the animatronic did/what it looks like? ive literally heard no one talk about it, must have been really hard to find tbh After the dark section, where the actors had lights that flash in front of their faces, there is the bridge that took you outside of the Towers...

Re: Scarefest

Hearing things to suggest at least one of the mazes has had a soft opening.

Staff previews are Thursday so might start seeing a bit more information coming out.

Re: Tulley's Shocktoberfest

That's a shame, it was perhaps as you mentioned - it being the first night. The queues can certainly get up, from what I've seen hayride can easily reach an hour queue. But that's something you'd get easily get with Thorpe, or even Alton on a bad year! I'll be interested to see if those things have ...

Re: Tulley's Shocktoberfest

Fantastic, really looking forward to this year.

I thought the concept behind Coven of 13 was stunning last year. I walked through the first scene with the lake, just repeating the word wow! Great creativity.

Re: Best/Worst places to eat in Alton Towers?

Had a burger at Woodcutters the other weekend, and it looks as if they have lowered the quality of the meat patty in it.

Not sure if it is about generating more profit, or having to deal with rising costs of ingredients, but not an encouraging trend!

Re: Ride pin badges

They're a cool idea, although I've had issues with the pin separating from the front with some of the Merlin ones. For the price these are getting to, it wouldn't hurt for them to be a bit more durable!

Re: Fright Nights

Thorpe definitely seem to benefit from IP with their target audience. Whereas Alton seem to do okay without them, with ToTT being a name recognised by the general public, as a signature attraction. I really like Alton and Tulleys find new ideas outside of well-trodden themes. For example Sub Species...

Re: Fright Nights

As someone who's not yet got around to watching The Walking Dead, do you think the mazes will offer much in the way of story, beyond general zombieness?

Re: Howl-o-ween

I'll be interested to see how well this sells, considering that the park has never done paid halloween attractions before. Creepy Caves doesn't have a lot of space, so I wonder what could feasibly be achieved, that a family would find reasonable value. Alton definitely went to some considerable eff...
