Re: Scarefest

Yeah, they definitely have the pumpkin men around Splash Landings and stuff, and the entertainment on the evening has a bit more of a spooky theme, but I've never been in CBeebies hotel, so didn't know whether they put any extra effort in for the event?

Re: Scarefest

Do they tend to do anything special in the CBeebies hotel for Scarefest?

Re: The Haunting of Molly Crowe

Thanks so much for the detailed response Justin! Really appreciate it!
Was the finale done with holograms/video/lighting effects or was it actually done with physically raising an actor using wires?

The Haunting of Molly Crowe

I never got to visit The Haunting of Molly Crowe.  Could anyone give a detailed, spoiler-filled description of what it actually entailed and what the ending was?  I keep hearing great things about the effects etc, but cannot find any info as to what it was or how it culminated into the finale. Thank...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

Do they still have the Elmo/Cookie Monster/Phoebe characters in Cbeebies land that you can meet?
If so, are there any specific times for the meets, or is it just luck whether you happen to see them wandering around?  Thanks guys! :)

What is actually open during the closed season?

Howdy folks! Bit of a random question, but it seems quite difficult to find a straight-forward answer.... During the closed season between Nov-March-ish, what is actually open for Hotel guests to do? I'm guessing the Waterpark/Golf are open, but didn't know if Sealife center or any of the kiddies se...

Oblivion without the underground section?... well it would certainly stop a hell of a lot quicker, although i imagine it would take a while to clean-up all the mess

Re: Personal Ride Experience on Hex

I don't quite understand why you used each others names when talking outside... seems a little formal for a conversation between just two people who are engaged.

How is your cigarette Jack?
Oh it is delightful thank you Sally.

Who actually talks like that? haha.

Re: Morwenna Angove set to leave Alton Towers Resort?

The thing is, the parts that we all like are the quirky little ideas such as the clown protests etc. which could easily have been thought up by anyone... not exactly the work of a marketing genius. Anyone with a little imagination and passion for the park could easily think up hundreds of quirky lit...

Re: Disneyland Resort Paris - 28/30-7, 2/3-8

Great review! :) And I completely agree with the one thing that you said... I am the most placid person in the world, but some of our European counterparts really do have no manners whatsoever when it comes to queing etc. I actually find myself getting quite aggitated at times, forcibly standing my ...

Re: True Submission?

I think Submission is pretty intense for a small ride like what you would find down your local 'Pikey' fair. Admittedly the screws/parts falling off, and clanging of coins/phones/keys dropping out of pockets helps to add to the intensity, but I think it is the only ride at Alton Towers that I feel r...

Re: Complaints reply.

I'd always recommend that if you have a complaint complain on the day and to the highest person possible, at least you are guaranteed a reply then. Couldn't agree more. This also shows the person that you really do have an honest complaint as you have taken time out of your day while there to deal ...

Re: Only Franklin Teddy's in the shops?

They are currently £12 on the Alton Towers online store: https://secure.altontowersresort.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?categoryId=41103&catalogId=15551&storeId=10651&langId=-1 Not too sure how much they are on the Park itself, but I imagine the Franklin Teddy's aren't th...

Re: Complaints reply.

I imagine it depends on the complaint in question really. Depending on the complexity of your complaint they may need to investigate the issue with several different sources to find the route of the problem before getting back to you with a response. For example, if there was a spoon missing from yo...

The best visit to Towers ever was midweek scarefest last year!

We were in AT Hotel for 2 days and I don't think we queued for anything once! The atmosphere was something else too!

Definately! :)
We always do our best to try and avoid going the Scarefest week in Half-term as this is far busier!

Re: Accommodation nearby?

Hello Joanne, Welcome to the forum! I think you may have a little trouble finding accommodation locally for so many people on short notice, as the October holiday falls right in the middle of 'Scarefest' which is one of Alton Towers busiest periods. Many of the local B+Bs are instantly booked up as ...

Really? are you sure?
We've been to every Scarefest since they returned in 2007 and they have only ever had the Franklin characters in stock.
