That’s quite normal for promotional images, remember the amount of lighting The Smiler had when those images were released

Yes I know, my point was just to say that on opening we shouldn’t expect the fog over the track etc, or so much lighting!

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

Apparently the fog machines and some of the lighting was added for the images, so we should expect less lighting and fog :)

Construction is flying now, with the drop ready to be installed and the south end of the attraction having started to be put up! https://s14.postimg.org/qpwfwxmhd/8_B51_C6_DE-83_EA-40_CC-_BB18-_B261086_F95_EA.jpg Credit - @veilstrup on twitter https://s14.postimg.org/mgrpux3u9/E3_E4_C317-5_FDF-4014-...

The TV ad normally doesn’t get released until a day or two before opening :)

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

I've been thinking about the shop today and what appearance it will take. Personally I’m expecting something along the lines of The Smiler as opposed to Ghost Train with this. Something not too flashy but nicely themed. I’d like to see something like Ghost Train but I honestly don’t know if we will...

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

It should also be noted that they have now called it "A globally unique rollercoaster experience fusing wood and fire!", although "World’s first rollercoaster fusing wood and fire." does also feature on the site's Wicker Man FAQs. It does say that, however it also says that “Wic...

Re: Disney Future Parks

This is expected to be where we will see lands like Galaxy’s Edge and Pandora to come into play as well as other IP based lands, so as you can imagine some Disney fans are not too fond of the idea!

Re: Non Rollercoaster Rides

Looking at Merlin right now, it would be very strange seeing them invest millions in a dark ride that wouldn't be as good as anything in Orlando. Merlin also doesn't have the size or money to build and maintain something that big.  I would want to see one in the future but I think it's very unlikel...

Re: The Last Film You Watched and Your Rating

Ingrid Goes West This was a film of heard about on and off for awhile but had no idea what it was. I finally got around to it abd I must say it deserves the praise it gets. It’s so well made and the screenplay is genius - it hits dark humour on the head and also has so real uncomfortable moments. T...

Apparently the ride is up to two months delayed due to issues when constructing the tunnel. Although looking at the station I see this as no surprise!

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

As I say in my initial post, the wood coaster specialist is required when a park instals their first wood coaster - they’re very different beasts compared to the steel coasters we see at Towers now, and although I expect it’ll be looked after in the long term, I wouldn’t look much into it just yet! ;)

This has been found online, looking for a wooden coaster specialist (a necessary job role needed for parks getting their first woodie).

Re: Thorpe Park - General Discussion

I agree Muppet738. It’s pretty obvious that Thorpe is headed to be the new Alton. It’s been getting superior theming for years, now has a top notch dark ride, has plenty of flat rides and is getting updates and refreshes all the time. This makes so much sense though. Not only is Thorpe Park so much ...

Re: SeaWorld Orlando

Kraken was a fantastic VR coaster, and if I’m honest I’ll be disappointed to see it go as it added something to the ride - and it was far better than Galactica.

That being said this could just be the third train which as far as I’m aware never had VR in the first place...

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

Based on the fact that the layout is so short, you won’t be seeing two trains on the main circuit at once anyway - so it would have no effect on dispatches :)

Re: Wicker Man Construction Discussion

If I remember correctly, you enter the main shop and the ORP’s are right there on a raised platform area (may have been scrapped and is now on the same level) then the shop took up the rest of the room! :)
