Re: Christmas & New Year at The Resort

For those wondering what goes on and what the resort looks like, I headed up there myself and thought I'd pop a few sneeky pics in here for you! Enjoy! But don't go stealing my photos, ask permission first if you want to use them else where.  https://i.imgur.com/L09q38w.jpg https://i.imgur.com/fZ3Cz...

Christmas & New Year at The Resort

It seems every other festive event has its own topic, Christmas had one but that was way back in 2008 and little less relevant. So I thought about time we discussed the Christmas period and have somewhere to share experiences, thoughts and possible ideas for the Christmas and New Year period.  -Have...

Re: SW8 Speculation and General Discussion

The opening line of “it is done” suggests to me that either the theming structure or the ride itself is finished. I really am loving these teasers and I can’t wait for the full announcement, whenever that may be. I think we can now take this as the ride is complete and testing is on going, I know i...

Re: Rollercoaster Restaurant

It is. The lighting is more vivid and atmospheric. The show doesn't seem to play so frequent though. I'd say every 45 mins, instead of every half an hour. Which probably a good thing, every 30 mins did seem to often and perhaps made it feel less of a “ooo look it’s on” moment. Now I feel it catches...

Re: Merlin General Discussion

Reading these last few pages, some experts who have watched merlin take over tussuards, some who have recently come into the theme park enthusiast sector, however all seem to be able to see the obvious flaw in Merlins play to invest in hotels and not capex projects is worrying. If it is that obvious...

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach

It’s coming along fast! Few things I hope come with this ride however are: Valhalla level theming - the exterior of a ride can sometimes be enough alone to get a person to ride a coaster (often GP can’t tell which coaster is which). Once we step into the New Year some decent marketing of the ride fr...

Would you recommend the welcoming for someone who's only ever done tott and hom?

Yes, it’s not overly scary and probably on par with TotT it terms of scares :)

Re: Scarefest

I was in the first public group in the Welcoming, and was disappointed. The maze seemed to be mostly blindfolded and the maze wasn’t scary at all compared to Sub Species or Altonville Mine Tours I've been told by numerous people that the hooded section of The Welcoming: Be Chosen is a very, very sm...

Just a FYI Zach from my end I can only read ToTT in the spoiler tag and none of the others.

This should be fixed now.

Is welcoming a free flow maze or a conga?

It is a free flow maze and should you not keep up with your group, because of the length of the maze it is easy to find yourself alone.

Re: Scarefest

Below is my review of the four mazes on offer at Alton Towers - (I have put the reviews in spoiler tags as I'm not sure what some people may consider spoilers so read with caution) Terror of the Towers - As already seen the entrance enters from the front of the Towers and you go up a tight narrow se...

Re: Towers Loving Care

I know this is going back a little, but I think it's really important for Alton Towers to keep Duel. I'll be the first to admit I'm one for history over new, but with everyone racing towards virtual reality (such as the ghost train), I feel it's important to keep some rides physical. There should b...

Finally the opportunity for more premium quality food, steak burgers and skin on chips! I for one can’t wait to how this turns out, hopefully heavily themed and tied in nicely with SW8.

I don't believe you get Annual Pass discount as it is  Fastrack, instead of a secondary attraction.

When I’ve had it for mazes, I used to get it but that’s 2 years ago now, I used the £5 FT PMAP voucher and discount which brought it to a nice comfy price.

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

Various houses on the resort are used by the resort as staff break rooms, storage or offices. The entrance posted few posts back is still in the resort limit and as stated is the entrance the family would have used, particularly as over the road is the old Alton train station. The house opposite obl...
