Re: Walt Disney World - Magic Kingdom

A theatre that takes 1000 or so people off the paths/queues for 45 minutes is always a good thing, hope they use some of that big open space to provide some seating for people to sit down and have a drink/snack, there used to be a few places you could sit down and relax for a bit along main street, ...

Re: Disneyland Resort Paris

A six year wait just for a retheme as THE major project for the park would be an incredibly bleak prospect for a park that needs more rides. You'd also have to wonder how much of a draw it would be 4-5 years after GotG Vol.3 too. The rumours I've seen floating around seem to fit better (and are a mo...

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach

Half the fun of Steeplechase is how vulnerable and 'at risk' you feel on it, would lose a lot of it with those new designs. Looks like they allow for more intense ride layouts though so it'll be interesting to see what other parks do with it.

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach

S&S announced that they're now offering Steeplechase coasters using the rights they bought from Arrow. Will probably mean the Steeplechase will lose it's "world's only" status in the next year or two. Also gives BPB some new options if they want to replace the ride vehicles: https://pb...

Re: Future of the Monorail

The cheapest thing in the long run would be a covered walkway with travellators. For the most part it would just require sacrificing a couple of spaces in each row. Big initial cost but tiny ongoing costs compared to the monorail or operating 3-4 trams continuously and in the summer months you could...

Re: SeaWorld Orlando

They're are some PR images of the boats floating around now, it's interesting in that they've not got seatbelts. Does seem like they've paid attension to Drayton Manor though, higher seatbacks (looks like it's 'topple-safe' height for kids standing on a seat), meshing in the gaps and guardrails arou...

Re: End of Season Review 2017

I visited this year just before scarefest opened so it's not the fairest time for general impressions. Happy Hex is back and it looked nice and polished, providing a great experience and judging by the comments of people coming off the ride, it's still an effective illusion.  The queues were short e...

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach

One big motivation for replacing it would possibly be the ability to keep it running at higher windspeeds which are so often an issue for the ride.  A ride they can keep open longer, give it a smoother, faster, steeper drop whilst still giving the park that iconic look from the beach are pretty comp...

Re: Universal Orlando Resort

The amount of land they've bought is insane, makes you wonder what they're going to do with it. A couple of hotels, expanding the citywalk to make it more comparable to Disney Springs and a third theme park?  I'm trying to think of what a third park could be. A theme park concentrating on white knuc...

Re: Disneyland Resort Paris

They're going to be adding scenes from Ep.8 to Star Tours so I imagine they'll keep it around for that. Wouldn't surprise me if they don't start removing it until this time next year.

Re: Universal Orlando Resort

Is the work by the diggers new groundwork or just removing and filling in the old foundations? Can't see it being anything other than a family rollercoaster. The question would be what kind.  A Powered flying coaster or Hagrid's bike still seem to be the most popular rumours. Hope they get the balan...

Re: SW8 Speculation and General Discussion

aww beat me to it, doesn't help I accidentally skipped the video part way through. noticed the typo as well.

Not sure if the translation sheet I was using was up to date but the symbol for L was actually the symbol for I and the L symbol was a circle with a fork in it.

Re: SW8 Speculation and General Discussion

A video of yesterday's PR stunt in London has now been released, not that there's really anything too significant in it. So they got some people to walk into a thing and started waving their hands in their faces?  :-s A bit weird they don't really seem to be following the film all that much. But th...

Re: Merlin General Discussion

Gotta join in with Burniel on a mini-rant. Why must new rides come at the expense of other rides, and rides with wide appeal at that? No log ride, no indoor boat ride, Hex was closed for an entire season with the excuse of it getting a refurb (which turned out to be a lie, the refurb didn't need a ...

Re: London Entertainment Resort - General Discussion

The London Resort is just that bit too generic to be viable as a final name to me.

"we're going to The London Resort"
"oh? Which one?"

Given that Disney have basically cancelled Gigantic, I'd guess the plans for a Spanish pavilion have also been put on hold.

Re: Disneyland Resort Paris

When They closed Star Tours to upgrade it to Star Tours 2 it made a lot of sense. The ride was in pretty extreme disrepair by Disney Standards and all the upgrades made it a fresh new ride (despite them being built on simulator tech that must be approaching 30 years old) . But yeah, a park which has...

Re: Walt Disney World - Epcot

Description suggests it's as much a dark ride as a rollercoaster and if it was something especially intense, you'd expect them to show it off more if it was an intense coaster so I'd be surprised if it was any more intense than something like Expedition Everest or Thirteen. 100ft is very tall for a ...

Re: Disneyland Resort Paris

Was a bit predictable that it would happen.

Going to mean that the two parks look like it's going to have at least a gap of 6 years before a genuinely brand new ride though. Maybe the 'Marvel Land' rumours will come to pass and there'll be another ride added, as well as the new show and ToT rebrand.

Re: London Entertainment Resort - General Discussion

A theme park where you can hop on a boat and sail down the Thames to central London is the reason why I think this park is a no brainer. It's an insanely good location with travel links that would make this an excellent base for anyone going on holiday to the UK. Hop off the plane, get a train from ...
