Re: Disneyland Resort Paris

Pretty great news, the park needs new rides not rethemes. The Tower of Terror is timeless, Will Guardians of the Galaxy be remembered 15 years from now?

Hope we get news on what's being added soon, still think they're going to go with a Marvel Zone.

They're usually ok with cloned rides aren't they?

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach

I really looks to be a phenomenal coaster,  brilliant use of the surroundings, if those fence posts are the final position the people watching will get impressively close at perhaps the most intense part of the ride.

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

Alton Towers for the day requires me to be driving 7 hours in total. Frankly I'm not sure it's worth it now.  This is simply shameful. Family rides either torn down, closed for large parts of the year and/or only operating from 12PM. You're forced around the park by the staggered openings of the oth...

Re: London Entertainment Resort - General Discussion

I mean I know the Warner Bros Studio Tour in Watford, fairly near to me, had plans to become a universal park, but it feels a little too late now for the land to be used for developments. The site is being used a lot for lots of Warner Bros films like the DC ones. Potentially, it would be a great p...

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

Just think.. if this ride is a big hit for families.. what would be the possibility that Thorpe Park would get their own GCI.. or dare I even say RMC.. think I'm getting ahead of myself :lol My worry is that it suffers from the same awkwardness as Thirteen does. Thirteen's big problem is that it's ...

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach

This makes me actively angry. it's a classic, historical ride and gives a unique (unexpectedly terrifying) experience that I've fond memories of riding.   The number of wooden wild mouse coasters on the planet continues to decrease. Extremely frustrating given that it's modern steel counterpart is s...

Re: Thorpe Park - General Discussion

The pizza buffets make me wonder why more theme parks outside of Merlin don't try them.

They're high capacity, popular, keep people off the paths and queues longer than burger and chips and they're good value for money by theme park standards.

Re: London Entertainment Resort - General Discussion

6 months delay but they still plan a 2023 opening.  5 years to get the planning permission sorted, build the transport links minimizing disruption around one of the worst bottlenecked sections of road around London and then to build a water park, theme park and entertainment/event centre.... Seems i...

Re: Walt Disney World - Magic Kingdom

A theatre that takes 1000 or so people off the paths/queues for 45 minutes is always a good thing, hope they use some of that big open space to provide some seating for people to sit down and have a drink/snack, there used to be a few places you could sit down and relax for a bit along main street, ...

Re: Disneyland Resort Paris

A six year wait just for a retheme as THE major project for the park would be an incredibly bleak prospect for a park that needs more rides. You'd also have to wonder how much of a draw it would be 4-5 years after GotG Vol.3 too. The rumours I've seen floating around seem to fit better (and are a mo...

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach

Half the fun of Steeplechase is how vulnerable and 'at risk' you feel on it, would lose a lot of it with those new designs. Looks like they allow for more intense ride layouts though so it'll be interesting to see what other parks do with it.

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach

S&S announced that they're now offering Steeplechase coasters using the rights they bought from Arrow. Will probably mean the Steeplechase will lose it's "world's only" status in the next year or two. Also gives BPB some new options if they want to replace the ride vehicles: https://pb...

Re: Future of the Monorail

The cheapest thing in the long run would be a covered walkway with travellators. For the most part it would just require sacrificing a couple of spaces in each row. Big initial cost but tiny ongoing costs compared to the monorail or operating 3-4 trams continuously and in the summer months you could...

Re: SeaWorld Orlando

They're are some PR images of the boats floating around now, it's interesting in that they've not got seatbelts. Does seem like they've paid attension to Drayton Manor though, higher seatbacks (looks like it's 'topple-safe' height for kids standing on a seat), meshing in the gaps and guardrails arou...

Re: End of Season Review 2017

I visited this year just before scarefest opened so it's not the fairest time for general impressions. Happy Hex is back and it looked nice and polished, providing a great experience and judging by the comments of people coming off the ride, it's still an effective illusion.  The queues were short e...

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach

One big motivation for replacing it would possibly be the ability to keep it running at higher windspeeds which are so often an issue for the ride.  A ride they can keep open longer, give it a smoother, faster, steeper drop whilst still giving the park that iconic look from the beach are pretty comp...

Re: Universal Orlando Resort

The amount of land they've bought is insane, makes you wonder what they're going to do with it. A couple of hotels, expanding the citywalk to make it more comparable to Disney Springs and a third theme park?  I'm trying to think of what a third park could be. A theme park concentrating on white knuc...

Re: Disneyland Resort Paris

They're going to be adding scenes from Ep.8 to Star Tours so I imagine they'll keep it around for that. Wouldn't surprise me if they don't start removing it until this time next year.

Re: Universal Orlando Resort

Is the work by the diggers new groundwork or just removing and filling in the old foundations? Can't see it being anything other than a family rollercoaster. The question would be what kind.  A Powered flying coaster or Hagrid's bike still seem to be the most popular rumours. Hope they get the balan...
