Re: Disneyland Resort

Man, these sorts of cheap, easy re-themes are the kind of thing Six Flags get heavily criticized for. It's not like they're preserving timeless classic by 'updating' these fairly standard flat rides either. Looking at the current map, does this mean there are going to be three very similar aerial ri...

Re: Disneyland Resort

It's definitely a bit worrying how readily they're sacrificing overall theming for their licenes. Cohesive themes and licences don't need to be a "one of the other" choice you can do both. It's calling back to the Eisner era of "this will be profitable right now and it won't cost much...

Re: Daytona Beach - Sand Blaster accident

Not sure how much blame can be attatched to Pinfari. They build a pretty large amount coasters and most of them go to low budget parks and funfairs, the kinds of places where it's more common for them to be less attentive on maintenance and safety. Didn't M&Ds have a dodgy inspector who missed a...

Re: Tokyo Disney Resort

Building two boat rides at the same time is an eyebrow raising choice, especially considering it sounds like it sounds the Tangled ride follows almost the exact same format as Frozen.  Wonder if either Peter Pan's Flight or the Tinkerbell ride will use the Soarin/Avatar systems. I'd guess it's eithe...

Re: Universal Orlando Resort

Judging by the way the track is passing through those supports I'd guess there isn't the space for a cycle + sidecar train.  Despite the launches, it seems the ride is going to be pretty mild, moreso that Thirteen. Looks like it's going the Gringotts route of cramming in as many neat ride elements a...

That's some extremely specific wording there, suspiciously so.  Fingers crossed for a Tiger Rock makeover...

If it is gone for good they absolutely need to replace it with a good family ride.

Re: Busch Gardens Tampa

I've fond memories of the Tidal wave first time I went to Florida almost 20 years ago. Loved the splash zone as a kid (and as we were in the height of summer I dried off pretty quick).

Track adds a lot of weight to the rumours it's going to be a Thirteen-style coaster.

Re: Walt Disney World - Disney's Hollywood Studios

http://disneyandmore.blogspot.co.uk/2018/05/disneys-hollywood-studios-2018-galactic.html An update on Galaxies' Edge at Hollywood Studios. Looks like the First Order ride contains 2 life size, physical ATATs which should be something.  They're still being a bit vague on what that ride actually is. T...

Re: Walt Disney World - Epcot

No doubt at some point they're going to get rid of the Journey into the Imagination ride which makes me a bit sad (the number of 'classic' Epcot rides keeps shrinking) but it's hard to see them resisting the temptation of a Frozen style makeover.

Re: Universal Studios Hollywood

Isn't that going to be the Secret Life of pets 'ride' (looks to be yet another 3D screen simulator)? Read that they're tearing down the arena at the upper level of the park to build it.

Re: Hong Kong Disneyland

Seems like it'd be very likely the new coaster will come to Paris which would be neat. Still interested to know if/what changes will be made to the Frozen ride, can't see the versions being built around the world being straight clones given the age of the ride system, it's short length and capacity ...

Re: Disneyland Resort Paris

All of those things are great, really good sign that they're making sure every aspect of the park is up to standard.  Was really disappointed at the range and quality of food being served at the quick serve locations when I went last. Give people unique foods to eat and they'll pay more and be happi...

Re: Disneyland Resort Paris

It's pretty interesting but it seems like it's just skimming the surface, I feel that's a 90min-2hour documentary to be had on this rather than two twenty minute segments. I have vague memories as a kid of a constant stream of negative stories when it was gearing up for release (some critical of Dis...

Re: London Entertainment Resort - General Discussion

3500 rooms. That's a lot of rooms.  Admittedly the hotels have Thames Clipper access so they'll serve as useful hotels for staying in London but it's very optimistic still. Really hoping this isn't just a scheme so they can get the infrastructure built and then turn around and say they can't build t...

Re: Walibi Holland

Looking at pictures of the karts, they look like the typical 'fun spot' style karts that are heavily speed limited and are surrounded with steel bumpers. Usually it's hard to do anything other than shake yourself up. Wonder if she managed to flip the kart. Many a year ago I had an English teacher wh...

Re: Cedar Point

You would have thought after the Smiler incident all the parks would triple checked their procedures for maintenance modes and over-rides. I'm also surprised that there aren't very loud audio warnings when a train is sent out with overrides active now.

If they are putting an actual code in Then it's C followed by a letter that's P or higher, so most likely R or U (with a slim chance of Y).

That's on the assumption they're counting from 0

Re: Walt Disney World - Disney's Hollywood Studios

Slinky Dog looks to be a fairly solid family coaster. The train's long and heavy so I'd imagine you don't feel the main drops too much unless you're right at the back but it'll good for small kids and those not great with coasters to get to go on a launched one. Interested in trying out these whip l...
