Re: Busch Gardens Tampa

You wont be going to Disney or Universal on a Florida trip? That's an interesting idea. :-k Yes the prices may be rising but for most families the experience justifies the cost. With Universal being as aggressive as they are, building new hotel rooms and new theme parks, I feel like families will en...

Re: Busch Gardens Tampa

Personally if I was Merlin I would hold off a few years as I think in 5-10 years they'd get a better price for the group. With all the developments at Disney and Universal I think Busch and SeaWorld might see a bit of a hit in terms of visitor numbers which could impact on the financial performance....

Re: Universal Orlando Resort

From what I've read some people think that the capacity has already been limited a bit but others think it's just down to the park being popular. Plus the blackout dates have just ended so you'd have had an AP influx of guests which won't have helped the queues! It wouldn't surprise me if Uni were p...

Re: SeaWorld Orlando

Where's it been incredibly widely accepted that it was too small? What sources have said that?

Re: SeaWorld Orlando

Correct it didn't, however it was still responsible to the stakeholders and Blackstone took $610 million in dividends out of the company before the IPO. Whilst it may not be on the stock market it will still be reporting to the stakeholders and it will still be expected to hit targets. I would compa...

Re: SeaWorld Orlando

SeaWorld has always been a cog in a much larger machine, they were a subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch and then Blackstone which has $371 billion of assets under it's management.  However the share price would be volatile irrespective of who owns the remaining share of the company as investors are only c...

Re: SeaWorld Orlando

Zhonghong have bought a 21% stake in the company from Blackstone which should help as Blackstone have a reputation of cutting costs and milking the profits of big corporations.  However even if they buy the rest of the company they will still be responsible to shareholders as Zhonghong are listed on...

Re: Universal Orlando Resort

Roughness has never been an issue. The rides have dwindled in popularity due to the fact that they don't duel any more following a lengthy lawsuit following a loose item incident. Regardless, the queue has never been that long in recent years as they are based at the back of the park and are extrem...

Re: Fright Nights

Pre-booking for Fright Nights with a standard annual pass seems a bit more expensive this year, ranging from £5 to £15. Not very happy about this, paying £5 was a bit annoying to begin with but £15 isn't right. Considering how busy it has been over the past few years from a business perspective Mer...

They are still testing the eruption but it's now sending water a lot higher, I'm not sure about the blue though!

Re: Universal Orlando Resort

Some of the insiders on Inside Universal were saying that one person will control acceleration and deceleration and the other will control drifting. The consensus seems to be that it won't be free roaming after the issues they've had with Kong.

Re: Universal Orlando Resort

A user on the themeparx found an image possibly showing the layout of Super Nintendo World in Orlando! http://www.themeparx.com/universal-studios-japan-expansion-3.jpg The image is 100% real, it was the concept art that was originally pitched to Nintendo, however not all of that has made the final ...

Re: Ride Downtime

The biggest issue I have personally seen from my visits is Rita. Quite a few times that has been down for most of the day. Do heat have much to do with the downtimes of rides? I don't think it's a particularly relevant point for the UK, rides seem to run fine in much hotter climates like America, A...

Re: Towers Loving Care

I think everyone can agree that Duel was the one thing at the park that needed TLC badly, and now its finally getting it so Yay for that. My only concern is that this could be too little, too late. They are just better off gutting the ride and redoing it instead of trying to repair it under the TLC...

Hopefully they will fix all the broken effects and adding some more. Some are looking tired now too, so it would be good seeing it refreshed! I'm just expecting a fix and exterior paint though.

Updating the actual shooting system would be nice but it'd probably be easier to start afresh!
