Re: SW9

Imagine if SW9 went for the airtime record! Dunno how marketable it'll be to the general public though... I would quite like “Worlds First Triple Launched Rollercoaster” Not too sure BPB would be impressed though haha There already many triple launch coasters across the world, Including Sky Rocket ...

Re: SW9

The one thing we definitely lack at AT is something with a good amount of air time Imagine if SW9 went for the airtime record! Dunno how marketable it'll be to the general public though... Re: SW9

I don't know if it's just me but I hope we one day get a Gatekeeper style ride that goes near the entrance and over the car park at points, obviously things would have the be moved about but I just love the idea of a corkscrew around a section of the monorail track. Doubt we’ll ever get a gatekeepe...

You make an interesting point. I wonder how the rain will affect the effects?

I don’t imagine that rain would be the main issue (unless it’s seriously coming down)

It’s more likely that they can’t operate the pyro in high wind conditions

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

Also a quick point is that these effects are going to show up on camera a lot better in dusk/night conditions....

The scale of flames etc will likely look lot better in person despite the great british weather

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

I’m not sure if it’s just me, but the effects on that live video seemed to be a lot stronger than the video we posted a few days ago. It may just be because it’s dark so the flames are naturally more visible but is it possible they’re gradually increasing the size of the flames as we get closer to ...

Not knocking it! I look forward to riding this come March! Just saying his initial comments weren’t all too positive.

Still better than expected is good enough for me!

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

I’ve just recently seen a post on Twitter from Coastertouring, that John wardley has ridden Wicker man and has given a short review on his experience. Let’s just say he really enjoyed it, and by what he’s experienced it sounds very promising! Wardley was on site Monday to ride Wicker Man and provid...

Re: Wicker Man Construction Discussion

I'm sure it will all be open at first, but eventually.. like how Th13teen is, they will close off the parts due to numbers.. I can see the queues being similar to Th13teen after a season or 2 goes by.. oh well, less queue for me :lol Think he’s talking about the access path to Gloomy Wood, but you’...

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

Exactly my point! The ride experience is all to do with the story and novelty of track layout.

Oblivion is a great example of how a simple ride can be brilliant

Re: Nemesis - General Discussion

Couldn’t agree more, especially with all the TLC to restore its former glory...

There’s a very good reason why it’s been voted as the best inverted coaster several times!

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

The promo shots and trains look really impressive. My only gripe is that the ride looks really short unless something amazing happens in the pre-show area. The centrepiece with the big rams head looks very well done. Hopefully the ride whips you at a decent pace over some of those airtime hills and...

Re: Wicker Man Construction Discussion

I love this aerial view but I have to say that the queueline doesn’t look particularly long. Might cause a serious issue with customers queuing outside the gates through to Mutiny Bay EDIT: As a side note I’m a little concerned about the lack of extractor fans on the maintenance shed roof. If this w...

Yeah you’re right! I’ve seen an image somewhere and thought that was the one!

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

I’m not sure that there would be space for a large turntable like device in the maintenance shed, especially with the required space for “Maintenance”. Besides, I think we would have seen this during main construction as it would make more sense to put this type of mechanism in before the roof/walls...

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

It is disappointing to see an image of the trains leaked, however, it does look they have been tied into the theme well with lots of detail. It will be nice when the side profile is released, to see if the detail continues all the way around :) If you look to the right of the image that has been le...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

I don’t know of anyone who goes to AT who doesn’t have 2-4-1s or a season pass as there’s so many available. So although £30 looks like a severe price decrease (and is really appealing to the GP) it’s more than the cost of a 2-4-1 discounted ticket. Also if this drive visitor numbers then they’re go...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

With all these new ticket machines being installed I hope AT decides to make a large step forward in its pricing of tickets. I think that it may be worth finally reducing the ticket price to around £30 and severely limiting the number of 2-4-1’s that it puts out into the GPs hands. Does anyone think...

It does seem a good idea but personally I think it's a bit too pricey for me :)

If this was £20 I might actually consider buying one as it’s a great novelty gift... but for £50 I would rather pay for park entry for 2 people with 2-4-1s!
