As long as the rides are suitable for 80 year olds (as I will be), it's all good!  :lol

I was enjoying the responses in this forum until I read this and realised I will never be able to ride this stuff because I will be too old / dead.

Wow! They look bigger than the size of my flat in London. Look at all that legroom!

Re: Wicker Man Area Speculation and Discussion

I have never understood all of the questions about whether the ride fits into Mutiny Bay or not. I just think back to all of the Pirates of the Caribbean films, especially the second one with the cannibal island, where they try to roast Jack Sparrow for dinner. It can still be a pirates area, and th...

I don't know if there is any ride with a theming element in the UK on par with the Wicker Man statue, the marmaliser and the nemesis monster are probably the two closest in my opinion.

Remember, Thorpe have an abandoned log flume to help make SAW even more terrifying. Now that is dedication!

I saw that caterpillar video. Good lord I usually hate these things but I burst out laughing. I'm laughing now just thinking about it.

Scientists: Hold up, the cure for cancer can wait - Alton Towers needs a new red dye, do you think we can get funding?

Re: SW8 Speculation and Discussion

If this layout is dull, I think it could be saved with incredible theming. Incredible. Nothing less. Covering the entire site.

Re: SW8

Ahh, if only we were getting the 'Cross Valley' wooden roller-coaster which was planned all those years ago which connected Ug Land and Forbidden Valley. I personally wouldn't mind a few trees being chopped down and for it being an apparent 'eye-sore' for visitors exploring the gardens, for that be...

Re: Alton Towers - Quick Questions

Thanks Lee!!! I've been to alton once before during the peak of summer but I got an ultimate fast pass for my birthday along with my brother so we got on everything with ease. I remember front row Rita in the rain, the raindrops felt like needles on my face at that speed; it was so painful lol, but ...

Re: SW8

true that. Hmmm, I'd really love SW8 to be a dark water ride. and maybe for SW10 (just because it's 10 and not 9) a WOODIE! I think that's enough time (2017?) for Merlin and designers tackle the problem of noise and height restrictions.... I pray! Beliiiieeeve! http://i44.tinypic.com/a4py8p.gif We'...

Re: Alton Towers - Quick Questions

We're planning on going on Monday June 9th. I wanted to know how busy the park would be, according to you experts :D I don't expect it to be too busy, but give it to me straight. Also, we want to go on all the best thrill rides, as well as the rapids. Will the smiler have insanely long queues? Is it...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

I'd love some 1984 theming in the queue - posters saying we are watching you, smile for the camera, that kinda thing!

Is it bad that watching this coaster testing turns me on?

Re: New to the forum? Introduce yourself here!

Hi, I'm Chris. Yep, that's my intro. The extent to which I love theme parks can be summarised in this one sentence:
After I got accepted into the university I want to go to this year, the first thing I did was figure out how long it would take to drive from the uni to Alton Towers.

Yeah but the public don't care about that! They want something obvious and in your face!
