Re: Exam Results

Good luck to all those receiving their A Level results today. I hope they are what you were hoping for :) If for any reason things don't quite go to plan, the most important thing is not to panic. You have lots of options, the most important thing is to consider things carefully and make sure you ge...

Re: California's Great America

California's Great America have just announced Railblazer , a single rail RMC coaster which features a 100 degree vertical drop, and 3 loops. It'll be interesting to see how this compares to the Wonderwoman Golden Lasso coaster over in Texas. http://i.imgur.com/Jnvc77Q.jpg Save

Re: Cedar Point

A few more facts about Steel Vengeance. It will be the world's first hyper hybrid coaster. Featuring a 205 ft. 90 Degree First Drop and 4 Inversions, the ride will hit speeds of 74 MPH,  and be the longest RMC built to date at 5,740 ft. long. It will also feature 27.2 seconds of airtime - the most i...

Re: Alton Towers - General Discussion

Afternoon :) Things seem to have got a little bit heated in this topic so I just want to pop a little reminder of a couple of things. If there is a post which you feel is not appropriate, either because the content is not suitable, or you feel a member is posting in a way which is either aggressive ...

Ok, whilst this current discussion is related to the topic, it is probably best that it's taken to PM if you would like to continue it further as it it becoming more of a personal exchange with the requests for specific information.

Re: Phantasialand

Oh wow, this is being built at very quick pace. If Klugheim is anything to go by though it may be that installing the coaster track is just the first stage - they could be looking to construct a fully immersive area around it once the track is in place. Looks like I need to look into a return trip t...

Re: Alton Towers - General Discussion

I'm probably going to show my age now, but those screen grabs kind of remind me of the old children's TV show, Knightmare :lol It is interesting that this has appeared in the Alton Towers Hotel, kind of makes me wonder if they're using it as some kind of test to see how this kind of VR experience is...

Re: SW8 Speculation and Discussion

The plans gave us the number of weeks for construction and training rather than a completion date. From this it's been worked out that the estimated opening date would be either the last week of March or first week of April depending on precisely when construction was started.

Re: SW8 Speculation and Discussion

The Stoke Sentinel have published a column written by Ian Crabbe , in which he mentions SW8. Whilst it doesn't reveal anything new, SW8 is mentioned: I also love to see the hard work and effort that goes into creating our new attractions come to fruition, with the biggest reward for us being the enj...

Re: Alton Towers - General Discussion

The Stoke Sentinel have published a column by the Resort's Divisional Director Ian Crabbe in which he discusses a range of things from the CBeebies Land Hotel, SW8, and the how the Resort have a significant amount of investment planned for the future. Whilst it doesn't give specifics, it's certainly...

Re: Scarefest

Last year actors were allowed to touch guests in both Sub Species: The End Games, and Altonville Mine Tours so I imagine it will be the same again this year, if both of those mazes return. Alton have the tricky job of producing a Halloween event which essentially has something for everyone - from th...

Re: Six Flags Fiesta Texas

This looks to be a very interesting coaster, it'll be intriguing to see how the various elements ride and how the overall experience is. The only concern I have at the moment is the capacity of the ride. It seems to be a low capacity ride for a large park which leads to the potential for very, very ...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

Apologies in advance on this one, can anyone tell what perks(if any) you get with the £70 AT annual pass? Apart from entry to the park. The lady at the desk said something about some discount at certain shops but wasn't sure. Thanks again. (Ps, I'm on my phone so the towers website isn't loading co...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

Not your fault at all, happy we could help. I think it's probably best if we move this along so what's the deal with the CBeebies land hotel? Is it true that you can't even look around or use the restaurant without a wristband saying you have a room? Due to the target audience for the CBeebies Land...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

Just the statement from the website though makes it sound as if they are trying to make it not worth the bother for people applying to be able to film. As long as you wear a thick enough coat, it should be virtually impossible for the ride operators to be able to tell there is even a camera there.....

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

Sounds as if they are just trying to be difficult with that statement, possibly hoping they will just scare off anyone who does want to film on the rides... just wear a Go-Pro underneath a coat and after the vehicle has dispatched the station, unzip it so the ride can be filmed.    Towers are not t...

Re: SW8 Speculation and Discussion

Given what Lewis has pointed out in the construction topic about the company being on site who produced Taron's rock work also producing 'timber themed render', is it possible that this company potentially could be working on the interior of the station? We know that walls have been constructed arou...
