Re: London Entertainment Resort - General Discussion

As of yesterday (19th September), it's been a full 12 months since the last official press release from London Resort Company Holdings. Their Facebook page has also been seemingly abandoned with no posts since 19th September last year. Whilst there was a project update meeting with the planning body...

Re: Chessington - General Discussion

I can't say I'm surprised that Hocus Pocus Hall is going. It is a shadow of what it once was and has been looking very tired for a while now. I think it was pretty obvious once the 3D glasses were taken away that it was on borrowed time. For me, it's never been something I've gone out of my way to d...

Re: Fright Nights

On paper, this looks like quite a good, balanced line-up, with a nice mix of IP attractions and in house concepts. Vulcan Peak sounds the most interesting of the two new additions to me. At a guess, I'd say this is going to be in The Jungle area of the park given the use of the word 'Vulcan' which c...

Re: Fright Nights

The only problem with in house based on their history is that the first year its open its terrible :lol That's not always the case. Studio 13 was a great maze - Thorpe got that right in its first (and only) year. I've always thought it such a shame that Studio 13 only got one year and the Resort di...

Re: Fright Nights

I'm very disappointed that THE BIG TOP hasn't been announced as returning. It was arguably Thorpe's strongest maze and has been getting better year on year. I've personally never had much love for PLATFORM 15, but I guess the park are limited as to what they can put in that space - I shall reserve j...

Re: Cedar Point

For the first time since opening, Steel Vengeance is running a three train operation! Hopefully this will help reduce queue times for the ride, and with the Park's Halloween even coming up will help add what will be much needed capacity.

Re: Fright Nights

Roaming actors tend to stick to a set route so it could be they will have free reign. Were their roamers last year? Also rumours are spreading that Big Top won't be returning this year. I do not believe this rumour though as TP would be stupid to get rid of their best in house maze since The Asylum...

Re: The Couch

I'm definitely a tea person - I can't get going in the morning without a decent cup of tea! I have recently been getting more into coffee, although only in small amounts. However, when Christmas comes around I love the Starbucks Gingerbread Latte! I love a good hot chocolate, and in the winter have ...

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach

I made my first ever to Blackpool Pleasure Beach this weekend, which means I finally got to experience Icon. I tried to go in with a clean slate to try and ensure I didn't judge the ride before I'd experienced it - especially given the mixed reviews the ride has had. Overall, I managed 4 rides over ...

Re: Inside Alton Towers - General Discussion

I think all things considered the documentary has shown the Resort in a positive light. It was to be expected that it would be aimed at the GP, after all, in order for this kind of show to get comissioned it would need to have a wide appeal. Yes, there were a few omissions - the most obvious one bei...

Re: Oblivion - General Discussion

Exclusive? Nope. There's already loads of Oblivion POVs on the internet. :P This is exclusive in that our POV was filmed with the permission, and in conjunction with Alton Towers Resort. This also means we have been able to provide a POV which is of a much higher quality than the majority of others...

Cedar Point have today confirmed that Dinosaurs Alive will be closing for good on 9th September to make way for their 2019 addition. In a blog post shared via their social media channels, the park have announced that summer 2019 will see Forbidden Frontier on Adventure Island open in place of Dinosa...

It would appear that Warwick Castle have upset Warwick District Council over the addition of the Horrible Histories Maze. The Castle have had to submit a retrospective planning application for the addition due to the 7 metre long Viking boat requiring planning permission. The application was conside...

Re: ‘Stargazing Pods’ Accommodation Discussion

I'm really not sure what to make of these. It kind of seems like Merlin wanted to add something like the Glamping Chessington and Warwick Castle have, but knew they couldn't really install tents at Alton Towers, therefore have gone for the pods instead as a kind of next step up. Whilst the accomodat...

Re: EnergyLandia

First and foremost, thoughts have to be with the family of the employee. It's an awful thing to have happened. I expect Hyperion will be closed for at least a short while to allow for investigations to take place. The first thought that came into my mind was how was an amployee allowed into the ride...

Re: EnergyLandia

It's been confirmed that a 37 year old park employee has been killed whilst he was attempting to retrieve a mobile phone. Below is a rough translation from a local news site: - At. 20.30 one of the employees of Energyland saw that one of the guests had a mobile phone. He wanted to pick him up and th...

Re: Planning: Kentucky Kingdom, Holiday World, Kings Island, Cedar Point road trip 2020

7 days is quite a short time to fit all of those in, and have rest days. In terms of route, the most logical one would be to do Holiday World, Kentucky Kingdom, Kings Island, and Cedar Point. I would strongly advise doing Cedar Point last as otherwise you risk having the other parks overshadowed by ...

Re: Congo River Rapids - General Discussion

If the Resort did want to go down the route of using seatbelts, then they could look at using a similar design to Dollywood. Dollywood's rapids utilise a velcro style seatbelt which is enough to ensure guests remain seated, however in the event of an accident they would easily be able to be released...

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach

Going to Blackpool in a couple of days and I was wondering if they have a photopass/digipass or something like the 3 for £20 deal. Anybody know if they do? I believe they do do a Digipass and multi buy details on photos. I'm afraid I can't remember exactly what though as I didn't click on the optio...
