Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

Whilst I was expecting some small staggered openings, I didn't think it would be anything like on this scale. I thought we'd get FV and CBeebies Land on ERT, then X-Sector, Katanga Canyon, Mutiny Bay, Gloomy Wood, and Wicker Man at 10, followed by DF, Hex and CCL at 11. I'm not sure if it is a decis...

Re: Cedar Point

It would appear that Cedar Point are considering joining the list of parks adding Virtual Reality to one of their rollercoasters with their their website confirming a trial of VR on Iron Dragon , their Arrow suspended coaster. The trial wil run daily from 9th June - 4th September with the VR element...

Re: SeaWorld Orlando

An interesting tweet has appeared today showing that the VR headsets have seemingly been removed from at least one of the trains on Kraken. Kraken Unleased has been having issues with its VR element for a while now, however it is somewhat of a surprise to see it gone completely. At this stage it is ...

Re: February Half Term - Pirates and Princesses

As reported by TowersTimes News , full details of the Pirates and Princess Getaways for February Half Term have now been confirmed. It's good to see such a jam-packed entertainment schdule for the event, as well as the Enchanted Tipi being used for some of the shows after its success at the Christma...

Re: Alton Towers Waterpark

Been a while since we've had Alton Towers Waterpark news, however, as revealed by TowersTimes News in our February Half Term article , the Rush waterslide has had a new, interactive addition for 2018. Guests will be able to choose one of 5 funky music and light themes to enjoy as they slide down. It...

Re: Six Flags Fiesta Texas

Six Flags Fiesta Texas have posted a video on their Facebook page showing the highest section of track being installed for Wonder Woman Golden Lasso.

The more I see of this the more intrigued I'm getting about it. It's making me so excited to try it out in July!!

Re: Phantasialand Wintertraum 2017-18 Trip Review

I'm probably showing my age here, but Temple of the Night Hawk did used to have a space theme and that did work much better than its current incarnation. I do suspect that the are that houses Temple of the Nighthawk and the Hollywood Ride will be next for redevelopment after FLY. Really nice trip re...

Re: The Future of Nemesis Sub-Terra

I wouldn't read too much into the fact that Towers haven't advertised for actors specifically for Sub Terra as normally the Resort put out a general casting call for their Entertainments Team then allocate performers from there. However, I think what it will depend on is unfortunately what so many t...

If I remember correctly from the plans the building circled will be HB Leisure games stalls. I expect the ORP will most likely be at the point where you enter the shop after exiting the ride.

Re: SW8 Construction Discussion

Is Ben and Jerry's supposed to still be there? I kind of assumed it'd be demolished but it's still looking pretty untouched? The Ben & Jerry's stand was the only building that survived demolishion, I think it'll open as a Nitrogenie when the new season starts though, Because I don't see Towers ...

Do people think Fastrack for SW8 will be available for opening weekend/week?

Fastrack won't be available until at least the autumn, if at all in the ride's first season.

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

Last year the @AltonTLC Twitter account started tweeting updates on 8th January 2017. As Justin has said though, with the SW8 announcement due on that date this year, it is likely the Resort will wait at least a few days before starting this year's updates (if indeed they are intending to tweet upda...

Re: SW8 Speculation and General Discussion

Anyone else find it annoying that Rita's not a Secret Weapon?  :| Rita isn't a world class attraction, and is an off the shelf model from Intamin. There's no reason to call Rita a Secret Weapon. There are a number of reasons as to why Rita wasn't marketed using the Secret Weapon name. Yes, it did l...

Re: Thorpe Park - General Discussion

It is good to see Thorpe investing in additional F&B capacity as it seems all of their outlets are always very busy. What I do have slight concerns about is whether or not Thorpe will be able to cope with additional people in the restaurant as we know Thorpe can struggle if outlets get too busy....

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

I'm not quite sure what to make of this new pass as I can see both the positives and the negatives of it. It's almost using the same idea as some of the American parks who offer season passes as opposed to Annual Passes, however Towers' one has a lot more exclusions. Positives ⋅ The pass c...

Re: Scarefest Mazes for First timers

I know this is an old topic, but i am not a big fan of actors jumping out at me and stuff. I was wondering if scaremazes would be for me it if I should just generally avoid them. I gave never been to scare fest before and so wanted to know what the atmosphere was like, etc... Does anyone have any g...

Re: SW8 Speculation and General Discussion

It kind of seems like they've taken the SW history stuff from the early videos with Elliott Crawford and mashed it together with the more recent marketing and it just doesn't work. It's a nice idea to link SW8 in with the previous rides in the Secret Weapon series, and it will build up a decent amou...

Re: SW8 Speculation and General Discussion

I'd agree that it's odd that the 'World's first' tagline is suddenly being used, especially as Towers seem to have specifically avoided using it so far and have been using 'World Class Experience' instead. As Dan said, so far there's no unique element as far as we can tell, but having said that we d...
