Re: SW9

I think Merlin could invest in a screaming swing and a frisbee ride to go where Spinball and the hospitality sweet are. Spinball could be relocated to Legoland Windsor or Legoland Florida. I would love SW9 to be a megalite like Piraten, it could go where Ripsaw was and the area behind It, into the ...

Re: EnergyLandia

Lots more information has risen up around the park's 2018 Hyper Coaster in the past couple of weeks! Firstly, we have the coaster's name: Hyperion ! I personally think this is a pretty cool name, and it's great to be able to call it by its full name instead of just "that big hyper". :P Nex...

Re: SW8 Speculation and General Discussion

Somehow I think Merlin are saying Globally Unique because it will lead people to think there's a world first, while there isn't. It gives them a bit of wiggle room during the marketing. I’m not sure whether the Advertising Standards Authority would agree... Globally unique still means a unique expe...

Re: Universal Orlando Resort

While it's very sad to see the rides almost completely gone, it wasn't until seeing that photo that I realised how much space this gives them. Just look at it next to the whole of Hogsmeade! Definitely looking forward to seeing what happens for 2019 now that the initial sadness of the coasters closi...

Re: Howl-o-ween

Was at the event yesterday. Something to note was that everything seemed a little more intense than last year, with an increased presence of roaming actors, most noticeably in the Rattlesnake queue after dark (presumably because it's an isolated area where only kids over 1.4m are allowed), where mul...

Re: Dragon Falls Tiger Retheme - 2018

Misty waterfall drop, as in the drop will have mist effects, or is it just PR? For now, I would guess it's simply PR amplifying the effect of the water. The same effect is applied on any Merlin map. I would think having misters at the bottom of the drop could be a hazard for the very close tiger en...

Re: Merlin General Discussion

Well this blew up :lol Where to start ... firstly I do not want us to find ourselves in a situation where Blackpool Pleasure Beach is the best we have, and I will never say that Merlin produce more bad quality attractions than good, because that's simply not the case. But it's all too easy to point ...

Re: Merlin General Discussion

I wouldn’t say a park who have failed to install a brand new coaster for the past 24 years is really anywhere close to ‘leading the way’ in the UK industry. I think having a preference is fine but it’s undeniable that in reality, as much as some may not like it, Merlin parks are really in another l...

Re: Thorpe Park - The Future

Sorry to say this but the last Merlin coaster was Kung Fu Panda Master which is Fabbri spinner :lol But anyway, b&m to produce smooth, good reliable coasters. I mean, if you want to get technical ;) https://imgur.com/l5ETde5.jpg Hardly any better, but there you go. If they want to work with (sa...

Re: Dragon Falls Tiger Retheme - 2018

Seeing all the construction for myself last week, it's becoming a lot more real and exciting for me. As a local, Dragon Falls was one of my favourite attractions at the park, and has always had some kind of magic around it, which was enough in itself to make me more than happy to sit on it and appre...

Re: Thorpe Park - The Future

Am I the only one who thinks a Mack hyper coaster is a more likely option than an RMC or b&m hyper? Mack hypers would look impressive for GP and would still be a forceful, fun ride experience. Maybe moreso than the RMC, but I'm not sure I'd say a Mack Hyper is more likely for the future than a ...

the Great British Bakeoff Megacoaster etc. It's been a long time since I laughed that hard. :lol I agree that the park has such great potential, and I think we're so close to this becoming a reality. There's no way the company has signed this many contracts without some serious proof that they can ...

Re: SeaWorld Abu Dhabi

Just a thought, As this park is fully indoors, I'm assuming it will take Ferrari World's record of 'World's Largest Indoor Park'? I'm fairly sure Ferrari World doesn't hold that record anyway. That would be IMG Worlds Of Adventure if I'm not mistaken? That said, if the figures on the Wikipedia page...

Re: What do you think should replace CCL?

I'm doubting that they'll remind the house of monsters theming, as it seemed to be very popular and well built. August is the main time when families come to the resort so dismantling the play area at that time seems like a bad investment in my opinion. Also, wobble world always seemed to be unenjo...

All three are accepted. The Junior Boomerangs are probably just about in, I probably would have said no, but then I realise I can't refuse things like Raik, so they'll all have to be valid! :P

Re: Elo Coaster Ranking Project

Apologies for the double post, need to update the guidelines and can't edit any above posts. After discussions elsewhere, it's been decided that people with larger lists who may shy away from entering due to not wanting to order every item on the list, please do as many as possible in the main list,...

Re: Elo Coaster Ranking Project

Thank you both very much for the submissions, the list is already looking very interesting. I'll share a top 5 or top 10 once enough coasters pass the minimum ridership. TheParkLifeKid - Note that The Velociraptor will be listed under "Blue Fire + Clones", Preadator will be listed under &q...

Re: What do you think should replace CCL?

I think 2019 definitely should and probably will be CCL's year. The following would be very nice to see: ⋅ Overall theme - I'm not 100% sure what, but anything (even an IP) would be better than the mis-matched areas we have now. The kind of fantasy theme it's currently loosely working with...

Elo Coaster Ranking Project

Hi all, There have been many attempts by various people and organisations to organise the world's greatest coasters into a single list which determines, by popular worldwide opinion, which are the very best. However, I've found many of these polls to be flawed, as they often have bias in their audie...
