Re: Alton Towers Resort - Staff and Recruitment

As it happens, the 'Careers at Alton Towers Resort' Facebook page has just posted a timetable for their staff bus service. The post itself mentions some specific pricing as well :)

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Staff and Recruitment

Not sure what the route is these days, but from memory they do a ten-trip ticket at a good price, and also it costs £4.50 for a single from Towers to Stoke. Can't remember any other rates/return prices, sorry!

Re: What are you listening to?

Lots of 50's/60's music (Stealth style!), especially those cool guitary instrumentals like those by Duane Eddy, The Shadows, Santo and Johnny, the Ventures etc. Recommended for if you're pretending to having a beach party in your bedroom.

Re: The art thread

With my dear mother's guidance, I have just made a fully glazed ceramic Nemesis egg! Left it hollow to use it as a sitting lantern :) Definitely try pottery and pottery glazing if you get a chance. You never know how it'll turn out, but it's great fun. :D

Re: Winter Wonderland - Hyde Park London

Having visited the other day, I observed that Wilde Maus XXL had a VR upgrade option for an extra £2, which apparently lowered the main price(I may be wrong).

Did anyone try this at all? Curious to see what VR would be like on a travelling ride like this.

Re: Fireworks

This show was very enjoyable for me because it had a simple theme, but was put together in a very artful, well-designed and emotionally affective manner. I admit my eyes started rolling when I heard the song 'Firework' start to play (''not this song again!!''), but then when the Towers twist kicked ...

Re: ScareMazing 2017 - Reviews & Feedback

Thank you so much for all who organised this! It was my favourite event yet.  I particularly enjoyed the fact that there were plenty of non-ride exclusives in the first half, so we could all keep our energy for night rides and not be whizzing from place to place too much throughout the day, making i...

Looks like something with a Nemesis-esque feel. Dark, natural and culty.

Re: Alton Towers - General Discussion

The good thing is that you know someone very keen will pay these high prices, rather than dropping it like that loom band dress on ebay that had a bid of £100000(or something) but didn't go for anywhere near that much in the end :lol also it's always worth investing a bit more in the things you want...

Re: Phantasialand Photo Trip Report

It looks amazing! There have always been good reviews flying around for it, but having never been there or even really looked into it myself, I had no idea how beautiful and immersive it is until now  :O

Re: Scarefest

Impressive of them to fly it up so quickly. Probably difficult to have 2 ongoing major constructions in the same kind of area and keep our eyes away from it all. Maybe they could use the maze to actively distract from the SW8 construction site somehow :lol

Re: SW8 Speculation and Discussion

But whatever the theming structure turns out to be, it'll certainly have a good near miss moment :) Not to mention the first time the train interacts with the theming structure you'll be traveling at some speed. Coming from the lift hill you enter the sound tunnel which goes on for quite a while, t...

Re: SW8 Construction Discussion

It's definitely exciting to keep an eye on the less geometrical, more interesting shapes of the metal structure. They give us little glimpses of character among all the dirt and straight lines which make up most of the rest of the site at the moment :D

Just bought my ticket!!!!! :yikes: Think I'm going to have to take a rain check. Have recently discovered that I am growing a mini AT Enthusiast so wont be able to go on anything. Awww, it's a shame that you won't be able to go on any rides for a long time :( but at least they'll be extra spe...

Cookehs will most likely be provided but there'll be a limited number available (unless I invest in a giant sack and beard and throw them out like Father Christmas) :santa:

Please do

But make sure you save a special, giant one for John at the end

Re: The TTSP Referendum

I voted, but spoiled my vote. Not because I'm lazy and never bothered to research the politics etc, but because after finally finding the raw facts and ignoring propaganda and opinionated posts on FB, I realised that there were actually equally important and supportable points on both sides.

Sorry if it's a bit last-minute, but does anyone have a couple of spaces in a hotel room for Dan and I to take up on the Saturday night? Thanks :D

That news about Wipeout gave me a dream about going to PWH last night, and I was involved in the breakdown :lol but the new Tombblaster was there too, as you do.
