Re: Galactica - 2016 Air Re-theme

Got my first ride on Galactica today. Have to say that I loved it. It all worked fine for me and I had a very clear picture. However I did find the VR headset uncomfortable however bearable. In spite of this I do think it was a bad idea to retheme Air and that it should have stayed as it was for a f...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

I was referring to hearing about the attraction in the media and from people in my life! :) I understand what you mean however this one has got to be my favourite. Real headline news if you ask me http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160904/9669ae0ef96041516a76605b98a8d7a9.jpg Sent from my iPhone usin...

Re: 2017: New Attractions

Whilst I agree that Alton Towers couldnt have a Tidal Wave style ride due to height, saying there isnt the demand for soaking water rides isnt all that true. For a start there was a lot of people complaining when the Flume was removed as having a log flume type ride is seen as a must at any theme pa...

Re: The 'How busy will it be?' Topic

Is there any day in the next two weeks you think the park will be at its quietest. Thinking of going but can't decide when. I don't want to go when there's school trips in so thought of waiting till August when all schools are shut, but the park will be quite busy, but then I thought maybe going on ...

Re: 2017: New Attractions

Merlin cannot touch Katanga Canyon. It's the one area in the park that's perfect the way it is. Whilst I would have preferred a thrilling flat ride to fill the biggest hole in Altons line up, the fact it's a CL addition doesn't bother me too much. Firstly it's a low investment meaning the larger inv...

Re: 2017: New Attractions

I just hope this is a flat ride that caters to the thrill market and not the family one! Alton towers needs a new thrill ride given that it's been three years since the smiler, and whilst I understand that we do not yet need another thrilling coaster, the park desperately needs some thrilling flat r...

Re: The Next Big Attraction

I would like to see a B&M hyper at Thorpe. It would fit well in the park and the UK needs a newer and better hyper coaster than the Big One. However I also think a RMC would fit in well at Thorpe too.

Re: SW8

After seeing The Joker, I'm really holding out hope that SW8 is going to be an RMC. I doubt it though :( I think the Forbidden Valley woodie was probably going to be an RMC, although I think the Mutiny Bay one is more likely going to be Gravity Group or GCI. I don't remember it being confirmed that...

Re: If you owned the Alton Towers Resort, what would you do

Whilst doing my college assignment today on Alton Towers where I am assessing their transport (Monorail, Skyride), I have come to the conclusion that the Monorail is not all that necessary. It only links the hotels with the entrance and the hotels already have a small entrance making the Monorail no...

Re: Towers Loving Care

Wikipedia now lists Nemesis Sub Terra as a Main Past Attraction. Stating it closed in 2015. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alton_Towers" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I know it's only Wikipedia and isn't really confirmation of anything, but it's interesting none the less. That is onl...

Towers Loving Care

I am confident more flats will be added, but having a game on the site instead of tarmac will be considered the better option! A game is better than just tarmac, yeah, but having a new theming element for either nemesis or Galactica there would have been much better in my opinion. Hopefully though,...

Re: Ride Closures/Removals in 2016

Whilst it all seems too much, now is the time to do it. Merlin knew they would still be feeling the effects of the Smiler incident this year so this year would have probably been some sort of write off as well. This meant that they could close half the rides and food outlets for a refurb. IMO i'd ra...

Re: SW8

Although I would love a pirate theme, I am doubting it and think the signs are done to fit in with the area not the ride. Firstly the Flume wasn't exactly a pirate theme and was more just placed next to Mutiny Bay, so SW8 could too have its stand alone theme. But I suppose it all comes down to where...

Re: Towers Loving Care

[quote="LiamC"]The whole TLC thing, whilst good, doesn't sit well with me. It shouldn't take an incident like what happened on The Smiler to give them the kick to do this. This is just basic maintenance that should be done consistently and constantly. But can we really say this is the cas...

Re: Galactica - 2016 Air Re-theme

I am hoping for it to Feel amazing. When I did the VR experience this week. It was just a chair that moved with a VR headset yet I still felt like I was riding a Fabbri Booster. It even managed to make me feel like I was going upside down even though I wasn't. It was great fun and I got off feeling ...

Re: SW8

Haven't ALL the secret weapons been thrill coasters though, I don't see any reason why this won't be at all. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk Th13teen is a family coaster and although Air/Galactica has a 1.4m height restriction, it's very tame so could be seen as family friendly Sent from my iP...

Re: SW8

I imagine this means that the Mexican Cantina will be demolished given that its behind the fence. I see this being a family ride as it is in Mutiny Bay, or at least I hope it is. I want to see a good family coaster. There needs to be somethig for children thats more thrilling than RMT but doesnt hav...
