Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

Has Wicker been opening for 9:30 recently? Going on Wednesday and need to know if I should bother heading to WickerMan during ERT. I believe it now opens on time more often than not They will check your tickets or Annual Pass though to ensure you are entitled to ERT, so don't discard any hotel tick...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - The Future

Yeah, I noticed that when I peered over the fence a couple of weeks ago. A lot of activity seems to be happening around that area in one way or another, so hopefully we'll get something concrete to focus on soon! :D

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - The Future

No insider information. They openly said that the ground had been tested behind The Swarm when I was on a lift hill climb last year, but nothing more. With regards to the permanent hotel, this is actually located over the lake, towards the car park and Annual Pass building. Ground has been broken, b...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - The Future

The land has been tested behind The Swarm, however, I don't think the next coaster will be located there. Possibly 2024?

Re: The Last Film You Watched and Your Rating

Atomic Blonde - 7/10 Based in the 1980's, a few days before the fall of the Berlin Wall, Atomic Blonde is an action-packed spy film. It tries to be a cult film, but fails, as the storyline does not develop quickly enough for me. It also has too many layers, making the plot overcomplicated and incom...

Re: The Future of Nemesis Sub-Terra

There have been many rumours surrounding Nemesis: Sub Terra. Rumours include parts being used for Drop Dead at London Dungeons, it being stripped out completly, the building being used for a scare maze and the ride itself being tested for its yearly 'MOT'. Along with Dan, I actually rode the ride on...

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

I think people underestimate how good Wicker Man is. While it doesn't look fast, it is certainly an intense ride, especially when it banks towards 'Big Bob'. I think Alton have nailed this coaster (excuse the pun) as I believe it has the right atmosphere which has been created perfectly with music, ...

Re: Scarefest

Just as Dan has mentioned, I doubt we will see any changes from the previous years, therefore I am expecting Terror of the Towers, Altonville Mine Tours, Sub Species and The Welcoming to return in their current forms. If this turns out to be true, then I am expecting this to be the last year before ...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - The Future

With Loggers, there is a lot of land which could be used. If Sticky Sister, Slammer, the toilet block, Burger King, and Old Town was to go, along with Loggers then that is a lot of land with a lot of potential. Any impact on the park from the construction would be minimal due to the access behind In...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - The Future

I can't see it personally. Especially when Merlin currently own Thorpe Park and Alton Towers. Saw does the job and a different experience is needed. Thorpe Park needs a solid coaster. You've got to consider that there will be 8 year gap, at least, between this and The Swarm, and a hyper or a woodie ...

Interesting fact time, a DBGT style attraction was originally considered for Alton Towers, although it was considered that Thorpe was the best place for it at the time.

Just more the general running of the park and how it is managed. I think it would be very insightful :)

Re: Ideas & Suggestions

I would love a tour of some description and possibly a behind the scenes of operations. I've mentioned something similar a year or two back but I agree. Event or an Alton offering, either way :)

Re: SP Southern Screamer 2018 - Reviews & Feedback

I really, really enjoyed this event. It was very chilled and the weather was brilliant. It certainly added to the summer and island vibes. One thing was clear and that was how relaxed, friendly and welcoming everyone was, especially with our new attendees joining us. On to the actual exclusives, and...

Re: Enchanted Village Expansion 2018 - 2021

Yes, it was certainly a close one and it could have gone either way to be honest. I do agree with the councillors comments, as Dan mentioned above, and I am pleased they took the decision to refer instead of improving and trusting Merlin to make adjustments.

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - Quick Questions

I haven't been down it, but it appears Monks Walk starts in the village of Thorpe, on Coldharbour Lane. The entrance is next to Thorpe Village Hall and St Mary's Church and lasts for 1.5 miles :)

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

The Wicker Man effect is starting to happen with the queue times for The Smiler. They are reducing in length (still long) but I certainly feel that I don't wait as long as I used to. A little bit of knowledge and planning also comes into play when navigating the park, but I wouldn't buy a fastrack f...
