Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

An interesting thought made on Facebook, but would it be better for Alton/Merlin to outsource their F&B again? This way, they could charge rent and generate money that way instead of controlling it themselves? I'm purely thinking F&B at present and not the whole park, but I suppose it really...

Loggers is a fantastic ride and one I miss thoroughly, but you're right, Dan, no shock as to this announcement!

Re: Galactica - General Discussion

Is it bad i've never actually experienced Galactica. I've never done the VR. Its not something i've ever wanted to try because its not something I enjoy. I prefer the actual flying sensation you get from it.  It is worth experiencing once, just for the music which goes with it, but it is certainly ...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

I disagree. There will be less people entitled to ERT due to online bookings no longer receiving it, so as long as ERT guests are managed correctly at the turnstiles there won’t be an issue. A point well made and not considered by myself :D I really hope a meeting is held about the issue tomorrow. ...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

It will be more the initial rush as it will be on a similar scale/concentration to Fireworks. The path and queue lines will be rammed!

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

With Alton Towers being a leading theme park, this announcement is an embarrassment to the resort and has the potential to damage their reputation beyond repair. Just look at the backlash on Facebook! I don't agree with the staggered openings at all, especially Forbidden Valley opening at 12pm. Gues...

Re: Galactica - General Discussion

I think the situation will be closely monitored, however, I don't know if they'll give it up easily, especially when a lot of time has been invested in it. I suppose it will all come down to the upkeep and reliability of the attraction.

Re: SeaWorld Orlando

VR does not belong on coasters... never has, never will!

I have no objection if they developed a VR experience on a robo arm, but even then, I think this is a push as everything should be experienced for real!

Re: The Future of Nemesis Sub-Terra

It all depends on the restraints. I believe I was on one of the last, if not last ride before it closed and they were really struggling to get the lock lights engaged. I recall it has been reworked that season too?

Re: The Future of Nemesis Sub-Terra

The actors were removed from the final section before the ride closed. The only Phalanx operators in role were in the preshow, although this was more for batching. There were also hosts in the ride area, therefore, the number of people operating it had been reduced.

I really hope it makes a return :)

Yes, they are amazing. Hopefully, we'll be able to utilise some of the Merlin ones with your permission. I'll get back to you on that! ;)

Re: Legoland Windsor - General Discussion

To be honest, I think having too many passes is confusing. I'm also not keen on the inconsistencies between resorts as there is no clear brand. In the past, this was the 'Annual Pass', but now we have season passes, annual passes were you pay once and now this!

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

Just looking at Mystic Timers, Wicker Man is going to be a great family thrill. Unlike Th13teen which didn't hit the spot with enthusiasts initially, I strongly believe Alton Towers are on to a winner! As explained by Chris and Adz, I also believe it will be a three train service.

Great to see the building refreshed, adding to the rejuvenated Towers Street. I hope something is done inside as it really did feel neglected at Fireworks.

Re: Wicker Man Construction Discussion

Off the topic slightly, but if THORPE do have a wooden coaster, then we are certainly not looking at 2019/20. It would be likely to come after that. I think it is very likely for them to add one though, especially around 'Old Town'.

I personally think Wicker Man will be very well received!
