Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

That doesn't sound good, especially when you had people with you who don't usually visit. Hopefully, the situation is being monitored and feedback to the powers that be. An enjoyable day can still be had at Alton Towers, although it seems more and more apparent that you need a good knowledge of the ...

That frame is interesting. I wonder what this is for as it looks permanent. I doubt they will get rid of the wall. Hopefully they'll paint it!

It is good to experience once, especially with the soundtrack but after that, it is better without VR!

The first image was very confusing. Some could have taken it that the ride opened on 11.11.18!

Looking forward to riding it in the summer!

It is fantastic! Certainly what Towers needed! I strongly believe this attraction stands out from any other. The quality is on another level!

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

I'm sure Alton don't really want to operate a park which lets down guests. While there have been some questionable decisions (removal of rides for TLC - Twirling Toadstalls, Charlie, SubTerra etc, along with the removal of baggage holds and staggered opening times) I am sure Alton don't go out of th...

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

While it is disappointing that Bradley has left MMM, I am confident that Merlin have learnt a lot from Wicker Man, with regards to well themed attractions and high quality ride experiences. Wicker Man has certainly paid off for Alton Towers and has received high praise. I am certainly one of the rid...

Re: Derren Brown's Ghost Train - Rise Of The Demon

Morgan, The VR does seem brighter in Part 3. I had the same opinion and felt I could see more when riding it the other weekend.

I'm going to give it another go a week on Sunday. Hopefully, it will be better and improvements are made in the meantime!

Re: If you owned ATR, what would you do with it?

I don't thing Nemesis needs too much at all. They could add a little more around the area or reinstall tv screens in the queue line to tell the story. Certainly on the other coasters, they could add preshow on the level of Wicker Man. It would even be nice to have music or sound effects added throug...

Re: If you owned ATR, what would you do with it?

I do believe this would be a realistic way of "updating" Towers and it would be a direction I'd love to see Alton Towers and Merlin Magic Making investigate further. We can see that the likes of The Gruffalo and Tiger Rock are a step forward at Chessington, and the refurbishment of Hex has...

Re: What do you think should replace CCL?

I think the Storybook land is nice, but the only recently removed a very similar concept to put in CBeebies land. Removing the Storybook work, old Macdonald etc. A really interesting theme would be to go very steampunk for CCL, loads of smoke, steam and whistles, but obviously not another dark them...

Re: The 'How busy will it be?' Topic

I did reply briefly in the Shoutbox, but I would recommend checking out ridetimes.co.uk on the weekend following the Easter holidays. This may give you a rough guide of what to expect. Obviously, it will be hard to say for sure, but being September, I'd expect queues of 45-60 minutes for the top att...

Re: If you owned ATR, what would you do with it?

Unfortunately, it all comes down to money at the end of the day! I think now that Wicker Man has opened, which continues to receive high praise from many guests as a high quality themed attraction, I would revisit the other six rollercoaster and enhance the guest experience. Part of this would invol...

Re: What do you think should replace CCL?

I could buy into the Storybook idea if it was quirky and themed to a high standard. The area is brightly coloured already, so that would save Alton some money when it came to reworking the area. I still think a magical Harry Potter style (Not IP) area would work well, but your idea may be more appea...
