Re: SW8 Speculation and Discussion

Who's to say there's necessarily a secret element? Indulge me for a moment, if you will. John Wardley (admittedly who is not working on this project) has always talked about rides where the unique selling point is just that it'll be a great ride. As far as I'm concerned Merlin could probably sell sl...

Looks like a decent badge, a little disappointing it's essentially another just print badge though.

Re: Movie Park Germany

Wow, that's pretty impressive! Surprised at how much detail they've put in, especially for a smaller park. That said, I feel like Helix will still remain the ultimate in Mack Mega coasters.

Re: Dark Forest Gertslauer?

I don't think there's any reason for a Dark Forest Gerstlauer - they have a perfectly good infinity coaster within two minutes walk, and there'd be no need for a Gerstlauer family coaster there as Th13teen would be too similar of an attraction. However I would like some new flat rides in the Dark Fo...

Re: Galactica

I believe this will probably be be an issue with the new headsets - Shaman at Gardaland is also yet to operate with VR this season (however Shaman is a brand new attraction and will be much more popular than Galactica). I agree it's getting beyond stupid now. I'm pleased Alton Towers are trying to r...

Re: TTSP@15 Event Feedback

Another awesome event and the best one yet (I know I say this every time)! Smiler is always a wonderful ride to have ERT on - and I must admit it was definitely running a fair bit smoother than usual! I got in 4 rides, which was a pretty good amount. Ride takeovers were just as fun as ever. The Blad...

Re: TTSP@15 6th of May 2017 - General Discussion

Another question - does anyone have any idea if John Wardley will be around before or after the Q&A? I don't know about others, but if possible I'd like the chance to either get a photo with him or get my copy of "Creating My Own Nemesis" signed :P

Re: SW9

I'd like SW9 to be a launched wing coaster from B&M - all of Merlin's wing coaster installations so far look/are consistently great, and are just pure fun to ride. If Alton Towers were to get one I think combining elements Raptor (ground hugging layout), Thunderbird (launch) and The Swarm (just ...

Re: Big Six Challenge

I know this has probably already been said - but I do wish Merlin would do something for the Annual Passholders who will get little to no benefit from this. Just a little something like a Big Six pop badge or vouchers for the restaurants/shops for people who complete it would be nice.

Re: Alton Towers - General Discussion

Honestly quite surprised that Galactica isn't running with the VR again yet - and even more surprisingly, I've not seen much of a backlash against it running without. I hope the new headsets are an improvement, even if I do prefer to ride without :)

Re: TTSP@15 6th of May 2017 - General Discussion

By the way, will we need to submit questions beforehand for the Q&A with a God in the human realm John Wardley? Or will we just do the usually Q&A format where the speaker selects someone?

Anyone know who the manufacturer is?

Apparently a company called Interlink. They're supposedly a France/UK based water ride specialist. They have installed flumes at parks such as Daftö Resort in Sweden and Euro Park in France (such relevant parks, I know).

Re: Galactica

I would say it's a new sequence, but I think the chances of it actually being are very, very slim (since Galactica wasn't commercially successful last year they wouldn't spend more on new sequences).
Possibly better headphones or higher resolution phones?

Re: Galactica

I think that's fairly unlikely Owen. From what I understand, Alton Towers wants to have the VR operating as much as possible so they'd avoid complaints from guests who wish to experience the VR but can't for whatever reason (e.g multiple headsets being down). Although better phones and headsets woul...

Re: Colossus

I hate to sound so negative, but what Colossus needs is tearing down... I find it's aged very badly and even though other Intamin rides (like Rita) have become rougher, they are at least bearable, whereas Colossus just smashes your head around. Also, though Colossus is not meant to look shiny and ne...
