Re: Scarefest

After seeing the teaser for The Welcoming, I've had a few thoughts as to what could be involved. The main thing that people have taken away from the trailer is a potential hooded section, apparently a guide rope has been seen within the maze, but the sacks give the impression it's only partial blind...

Re: What do you think should replace CCL?

I'd want to see a few family flats take it's place. A CBeebies expansion would be nice and all, but I feel that we need more filler rides for older visitors.

Re: The Last Film You Watched and Your Rating

A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)- 8/10

I've been watching a lot of older horror films at the moment and this was one of the better ones. Was unnerving and had some over-the-top, iconic scenes.

Re: The Last Film You Watched and Your Rating

It (2017) 2/10 The trailers didn't make it look overly good but it's had stellar reviews so I thought I'd give it a go... ehh, really didn't enjoy it. Felt like every time something scary could happen it'd be a cheap, loud jumpscare... some of the characters were really weak as well. Wouldn't recomm...

Re: Fright Nights

I'm a bit skeptical over this year as the previous years hadn't been the best- this year it's very much make or break whether i go next year and beyond. I've never seen The Walking Dead either so I'm a bit worried, the descriptions make it sound like it relies on people already knowing the story- wh...

Re: Fright Nights

If you have a standard pass you'll need to book (between £5 and £20 depending on when you visit), you don't have to for premium but it's advised (costing £1) :)

Re: Scarefest

I'm with you here Dom, as much as I trust the ents team to create a stunning scare attraction, the location completely confuses me. Noise pollution will be an issue unless they get some containers in there. If they don't, there isn't really a lot of room for indoor parts as the rooms of the building...

Re: Scarefest

After a quick read of the website, it seems all three returning mazes will be changing a little. AMT offers an "extended tour" (possibly hinting at a new, better finale), Sub has "new routes" (the finale is going in a different route, maybe the labyrinth will be shaken up too?) a...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

At previous Scarefest's the park has sold hoodies of the event- was wondering if they're the usual price and if MAP discount can be applied? :)

Re: Scarefest

There's a gate that could be opened allowing you to go through- only issue is I'm not sure what's on the other side, pretty sure it's a steep hill!

Re: Scarefest

Thanks :) I've had a little think about the rumoured ToTT entrance and thought- could it be used for The Welcoming? If you were to turn left at the top of the staircase you could then go through the Barbican and into the woods that way? I'm also thinking it could get a name change, given how AMT was...

Big Top's tent has been up for a while, managed to get some pictures of some stuff waiting to go in on Monday. http://i.imgur.com/ba0ZdRp.jpg http://i.imgur.com/w2IuS5Z.jpg http://i.imgur.com/c3k6pYN.jpg http://i.imgur.com/JKUTn2R.jpg http://i.imgur.com/mvzsflp.jpg http://i.imgur.com/cITgt5A.jpg

Re: Scarefest

Was on park yesterday, got a few pictures of Scarefest construction. Nothing overly exciting has happened, but seeing the construction in person has gotten me so much more excited. ToTT could possibly be entering through an entrance at the front of the ruins, which would then lead up a staircase, ro...

Re: Scarefest

I messaged Alton Towers earlier via Facebook and they said there's no AP discount for The Welcoming, however you can buy single tickets for it online (costing £8). Also, as ToTT is 15+ this year (and a bit stale) I'm hoping that the conga line will be removed. From what we've seen of the exit corrid...

Re: Scarefest

I'm personally expecting maze four to be a free 12+ attraction. ToTT is 15+ again this year, so we'll need an attraction for those who are too old for HoM but not old enough for the bigger mazes. Also you can book tickets for last years three mazes but not four- maybe this'll be changed later on but...

Re: Last Game You Played and Your Rating

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild- 10/10 Phenomenal game, I've poured countless hours into it as there's so much to do. The map is huge, there are tonnes of hidden puzzles to locate and complete, and oh my that soundtrack is perfection... and the game is nonlinear, meaning you can complete any...

Re: Does anyone know what this is?

That's the entrance the Talbot family would've used to enter the estate when they lived there :)

Re: The Last Film You Watched and Your Rating

V for Vendetta- 10/10

Very interesting film that was deeper than I thought would be, with some great character development as well.
