Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

I totally agree with that to be honest. Like yes, I think Wicker Man is a very very good investment, but other than that the guest experience at Towers is definitely on the decline. I really hope that this will change in the foreseeable future, or otherwise, I think it could lead to a substantial ne...

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

Has the resort confirmed that the Wicker Man actors will be surrounding the area, or is that purely speculation? Nevertheless, I'm VERY excited to ride Wicker Man in the dark - however, I'm sure the queues will be more scary than the ride  :lol

Re: The Last Film You Watched and Your Rating

Mission Impossible: Fallout - 10/10 Hands down the best MI out of the series. Brilliant story with great acting, intense action scenes and a small dose of humour - class summer blockbuster! The Spy Who Dumped Me - 6.5/10 Decent comedy, but very similar to 'Spy' - wait for it to come out on Netflix. ...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

Going on what Activist3 said (above), I won't be surprised if opening hours are increased for next season - especially on peak days, as even this weekend (which is arguably an off-peak 'breather' period between Summer and Scarefest) we have seen queue times in excess of 60 minutes for almost all of ...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Music and Videos

I would actually be willing to pay £20 for a Towers one, due to the fact it's my home park and I prefer the audio used there (over Thorpe's).

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

Right, I'm not sure if it was just me imagining things - but I'm 99% sure yesterday on the first drop tunnel there was not only the smoke machine that has always been there but also a laser machine on the left-hand side of the tunnel! Can anybody else tell me if I was just imagining things, or wheth...

Re: On-Ride Breakdown Experiences

That also happened to Stan and me, they had to have engineers move the train in front of us. That suggests it was a possible parking issue. What a great experience that was! :D! I have also had that issue but towards the beginning of the breakrun (not even in the tunnel) as well, not sure what the ...

Haven't got any photos, however, I was on site yesterday and the courtyard has now been shut off and construction is well and truly underway for The Welcoming!

Re: Podcasts

I listen to a few podcasts, you will see they all have a theme in common :D I don’t losten to every single episode of them all, however they all are great to listen to, especially as a Theme Park enthusiast - my favourite out of them is In The Loop mainly because it’s not a serious as the other ones...

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019?

The Warwick Castle Dungeon is around £6 I believe, I could see Towers getting away with £5/6 - considering one-shot fastracks seem to sell fairly well at that cost, so a live-action experience should (in hindsight) work at that cost.

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

Yesterday there were boats going around the Rapids with between 2-8 people, so the ‘4’ policy definitely hasn’t stuck in stone so far. However, there was a member of staff at the front of the queue presumably checking ages - but, I can’t clarify that as we didn’t ride the rapids.

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019?

I don’t see why not with The Dunegons brand coming to Towers, as the Warwick Castle Dunegon has proven very popular, despite it being an upcharge attraction. I can see this being quite successful for Towers, IF and only if, they put in the effort and theming it deserves and not budget it cut it seas...

Re: The Last Film You Watched and Your Rating

The First Purge - 7/10 Typical Purge movie, but with a better narrative than the others in my option; the character building is also done well and hassle free, and the film is very quick to get to the action. Don’t go into the film expecting jump scares, but expect more of a thriller. Overall, a sol...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

This talk with the Rapids must be something quite recent, when I went on a weekday the other week the staff were filling the boats at full capacity. It is interesting that they’re not filling boats up recently. They've not been filling the boats up properly all season. He didn’t say all season, I w...

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019?

If it’s time slots are anything like the other Dungeon attractions, then pre-booking time slots is 100% necessary. As I stated in my idea, there is a free option too. Nobody is forcing you to pre-book a time slot, (I’m not sure what costs actually are) but I think £5 is acceptable for a 30/60 minute...

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019?

What I think Towers should do in regards of entrance to the attraction is to trial run a virtual queueing system, with specific time slots for people to return in. On top of that however, I think there should be an option to pre book a time slot (with a small fee) on the website before your visit, i...

Re: What do you think should replace CCL?

I disagree with that, if CCL was merged into DF not only Merlin would have to pay out in order to theme all of CCL, it'd also be taking away one of the major family areas on the park changing a happy vibe area into a darker and more sinister one. CCL should stay how it is, but obviously needs invest...

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

When is Wicker Man the quietest to ride (apart from ert which normal guests don't have access to)? Recently the best time to ride it is around 2pm, as afterwards, it starts to pick up again. Or maybe head over when it's broken down as many people bail. Otherwise, there's not really a quiet time for...
