Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

Alton Towers have today confirmed to me on twitter that the new season passes will not be valid for Early Ride Time despite the opposite being stated when the passes first went on sale.

Re: SeaWorld Orlando

All 3 trains did have VR added :)

The ride is still listed as a VR attraction online so who know's what's going on. The only thing we know for sure is that they have physically removed the entire VR system from at least one train.

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

Don't worry Teamaddiz, they'll be sure to cut even more in 2019 regardless of whether or not attendance improves or declines.

Cuts, cuts and more cuts, but what else should we expect from Merlin. Race to the bottom for sure.

Re: Cedar Point

I have a friend that tried the Iron Dragon VR either last year or the year before, worst experience of his life he said :P

Apparently the VR gets better every year, I wonder when they'll finally take the leap of faith and install it permanently.

Re: SeaWorld Orlando

Saw this earlier, hallelujah!

The VR was quite good but the hit on capacity when combined with its unreliability was never going to be sustainable.

They had already been forced to designate rows 1-4 as non VR in an attempt to speed up operations anyway.

Re: SeaWorld San Antonio

No confirmation yet but I'm hearing that Beluga Whale Crissy's calf (born in September) is male and has been named Innick!

Also, the park have confirmed that marine scientist and artist Dr Guy Harvey will be opening the park for the 2018 season with a 2 day event on February 24 & 25.

Re: Wicker Man Construction Discussion

I just realised that Nickelodeon Streak actually has a longer track length than this ride :O

Nick Streak feels really short so I hope that whatever is in that maintenance shed prolongs what is going to be a very short ride experience.

Re: Wicker Man Construction Discussion

The below photo has been posted on Instagram by @therollercoasterproject and shows us a view of the Wicker Man from ground level. It looks mighty impressive! https://i.imgur.com/ofE6klz.jpg Can we be sure that the ride has begun testing given that there is still scaffolding blocking the track? Don'...

From what I saw, steeplechase was on the chopping block but I don't think it will be now, Icon has been designed to fit around it. If they were to remove I'd think they'd have done it before Icon was built.

From what you saw where?

Well it's blatantly not a world's first but then neither was Galactica.

Concept art looks pretty cool though.

Re: SW8 Speculation and General Discussion

I don't know if this will happen as this is my first time closely watching the launch of an SW but will other parts of the park be quiet, for example would most rides be walk on except SW8 and surrounding rides in MB and KC?  Maybe during the morning rush, crowds always spread though. Spinball norm...

Re: SW8 Speculation and General Discussion

I still want to know what made Merlin have a sudden change of heart when it comes to wooden coasters. Perhaps it will become more obvious tomorrow. The market research was a big factor - this time the feedback said yes, and if you compare Nemesis' construction to SW8's construction and the scale of...

In a shocking turn of events no one could have predicted  Its closure has been strongly speculated for months due to it being closed since mid August. It seems that they can no longer find an insurer that is willing to cover the ride :( I hadn’t seen anything of it, seems neither had others as they...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

Ideally though, I do think that the pass should have been sold at a higher price (somewhere between £80-90) but with no exclusion dates. You are spot on, I don't think anyone would have a problem with this pass if they were also offering the normal pass with no exclusion dates and the regular benef...
