Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

4pm closes have now been rolled out into July as well. What is going on!? This is madness. Only July 2nd-5th are 4pm closes. Which are dates that will be rammed with school trips. Last year the minimum ride close in June was 5pm, now we have 4pm closes working their way into July. The park have mad...

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach

After some more rides today, it is soooo close to knocking Mako from my number one spot, soooo close! I'll decide after riding Mako again in July.

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach

I disagree almost entirely with that review, as would almost everyone that I talked to on the opening day :P I know everyone has different coaster tastes, but that review is extremely sour (pun intended) compared to anything else I have read. A few online reviews have been more negative than any rea...

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach

The POV above is very slow and not the full speed potential of the ride, it was filmed on an empty train when the wheels were cold, no idea why they didn't let it warm up properly before filming. There are several rider cam POVs going round that show the ride running at a much more normal speed :) A...

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach

Icon is much better than Wicker Man. Although Wicker Man has better theming, Icon just dominates as a coaster. Plus Pleasure Beach is an amusement park so only theme their dark rides really. Good coaster always much much more important than good theme for me, not saying that Wicker Man isn't a decen...

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach

The general consensus is that towards the front and towards the back are better than in the middle of the train, which seems to be normal on most coasters. Haven't heard anyone who hasn't said that it's the best coaster in the UK after riding. Personally, this is my first Mack launch coaster but I c...

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach

Words cannot describe Icon, it destroys every other ride in the UK. It's so comfortable, the restraints are so free, so much airtime (floater and ejector) even in areas that you wouldn't expect. Every element delivered to the max, there's so little time to process what's going on, it's relentless. A...

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach

Surely they couldn't have put it out without someone at Pleasure Beach checking and Okaying it. It is most likely a publicity stunt to cause a bit of controversy and get people talking about it. Then pass it off as a mistake to get around any false advertising claims. Definitely "inspired by&q...

The image was put out by a promoter and not BPB themselves, Amanda has tweeted to say that it is wrong.

Re: SeaWorld Orlando

To clarify. Except from my first sentence, the rest of the paragraph was not specifically referring to SeaWorld's operations. Rather, it was referring to the standards and welfare practices in law and enforced by the related governing bodies in of themselves. I had no intention of suggesting that S...

Re: SeaWorld Orlando

PETA are less than palatable or accurate when it comes to putting across their arguments, however - while Seaworld have made amendments to their operations - it still stands that their past reputation for maintaining ethical standards and welfare practices is not exactly glowing! Generally, there i...

Re: Going to Towers alone...

Going to Towers alone is worse than ever this season due to the complete removal of SRQ.

Part of the reason why I have not renewed a pass for this season after a decade of having one :(

My bet is still with a Premier Rides Sky Rocket II, but we will see. RMC Gwazi would also be great.
