Think I know the chap you mean, he's great. Shakes your hand if you've got Smiler merch on :)

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

Been to towers 8 times this year, been TP, BPB, DM a few times too... Yesterday at Alton Towers was the best!!! Haven’t seen any park that busy outside Scarefest / Fireworks for well over a decade. The atmosphere was great, queues were long despite all rides having all trains on, and very little do...

Re: Scarefest - General Discussion

The way of social media is to find the most cynical train of thought and board it without a moments thought, seeing the phrase ' infected by a mutant antidote' and concluding it will be the same as Sub Species. To me, the alien infection part of Sub Species never came through at all in the actual ma...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

I find Love Island far more horrifying than any Saw movie on a very fundamental level.

Re: Project 42 (Nemesis Sub-Terra) - New for Scarefest 2018

I was wondering exactly that, if they're not planning to reopen the ride they could do anything they wanted with the hole. Only rode it once but I seem to remember it being quite a large space. Anything could be lurking in the pit below...

Re: Project 42 (Nemesis Sub-Terra) - New for Scarefest 2018

I'm glad they're doing something with that site, being right at the entrance of Forbidden Valley made the area seem dejected but during Scarefest this year it's going to give it much more life towards the back of the park having a live attraction there.

Re: Scarefest

Only thing they need to do is make sure the mazes are staffed enough. TOTT was a classic, but my last run the finale seemed much shorter and the conga line was a big handicap compared to the way the other mazes are done. Excited to find out the story behind the new maze, could well be connected to P...

Re: Nemesis Sub-Terra Refurb - New Scarefest Maze for 2018?

That's some sneaky digging. 'I'll leave you be for now'... Immediately ask another question!

Re: ‘Stargazing Pods’ Accommodation Discussion

Depends on the price, if it was considerably cheaper than the hotels I'd be up for that, though I'm not sure they need more accommodation.

Re: The Future of Nemesis Sub-Terra

I'd like to think that too, but there's been activity on that site several times over the last few years and nothings ever come of it. With the seemingly reduced budget reopening doesn't seem likely cos Sub Terra was known to be expensive to run for what it was. Alternatively, maybe the reduced budg...

Re: Scarefest

Wicker Man at dusk is spectacular! The theme comes into it's own and it feels really out of control.

Re: The Walking Dead: Living Nightmare Extreme

Wish I knew about this earlier in the year. I don't watch Walking Dead so a retheme of X didn't interest me, but a horror maze crammed with actors that's open all day and free sounds amazing!

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

One thing I want to point out about Wicker Man is how effective the head choppers through the structure itself are. I'm usually not susceptible to them, but something about these actually made my brain go 'Woah, watch out!' and automatically pulled my hands down. It really feels like your going so c...

If true that's great news! Wonder if they've fixed the dead screen on the Marmaliser.

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

On my last trip we went on 7 rides, Duel and Hex both had short queues and were operating fine but every one of the 5 coasters stopped at least once while we were queuing. You shouldn't hear a 'technical issues' announcement in every single queue. Hopefully if they get enough complaints the accounta...

Re: Wicker Man Reviews & Discussion [SPOILERS]

Rode The Wickerman at about half 7 on Saturday after queuing from 4.15. Kudos to the staff for working late. After queuing for so long, having never ridden a wooden coaster before and getting to ride it in the dark it was possibly the greatest experience I've ever had on a ride. Really looking forwa...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

The station, after ride corridor and shop are fine, but the pre station queue needs serious work. Screens are off, music is too quiet and the projection room is too light, it utterly destroys the atmosphere of the ride.

With all the hints to Earth, Wind and Fire in the mazes maybe they are hinting at a September opening?

Maybe this will be the 'World's First Rollercoaster fully dedicated to Boogie!'
