Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

I’m not sure if I’m just being silly and stating the obvious but could the reason be for the weird name “Courageous Citizens Recruitment” be an Easter egg? I mean if it is where we think it’ll be, then won’t it be following the Canada Creek Railway? If so this is an adorable Easter egg! I’m excited ...

Re: Disneyland Resort

Wow... that video makes it look so bad. The models they used looked really cheap, it centred around the most boring character in the Incredibles universe and there was a clear overuse of speakers to tell a rather ridiculous story, constantly bombarding riders. I was very disappointed by the Tower of...

Re: Theme Parks and IPs

There is an interesting balance between IPs and Attractions which must be struck, and isn't exactly easy. For an IP to be truly successful, then the creators of the attraction have to understand what made the IP so likeable in the first place. And, if that wasn't a tall enough order on its own, they...

Re: Walt Disney World - Disney's Hollywood Studios

I think this is an interesting move. I heard that there used to be an issue with Hollywood Studios where they didn't know whether their attractions should be similar to Universal's Tram Tour and be a behind the scenes look at film or whether it should be full emersion into film and media such as oth...

Re: General Forum Discussion

I think we should have a part of the forum that's dedicated to tackling the big picture theories around the theme park industry, such as IP, VR, AR, coaster evolution and other things we might come up with. Something that isn't about parks or attractions themsves, rather the ideas or concepts of the...

Re: London Entertainment Resort - General Discussion

I think that Chris is right and we can't call the time of death just yet, but I also don't think we're going to see a miraculous recovery either. Paramount Parks in the past weren’t known for their incredible management and this park is now becoming a discount Paramount Park. It isn't looking good. ...

Re: The Swarm

Swarm is a fantastic attraction and I don't think it gets the credit it deserves. It's theming is so amazing, the burnt church is incredible and it was clear that this attraction was designed with Fright Nights in mind, because they've managed to create an experience that totally changes after dark....

Re: Alton Towers Resort Pin Badges

I know it's not the most sophisticated, but I rather like the phone pin. It's unique to say the least and has a certain, Merliny charm to it.

The other two are just fantastic, nothing else needing to be said. Especially the Rita one, it looks beautiful.

Re: Galactica - General Discussion

I liked the concept of AIR much more than Galactica. By now, I find Space rather cliche and overdone, but the simple but appealing idea of flying is so much more investing, to me. Galactica as a concept only really works when it is paired with the VR. Outside of the station and that one portal, ther...

Re: Th13teen - General Discussion

I've actually grown to become rather fond of this ride. At first, I thought it was beyond average and not worth my time, so it took me years until I actually got around to riding it, but by the time I did, the hype had dissolved away. When I experienced it with clear eyes, I thought the theming was ...

Re: Oblivion - General Discussion

Something really needs to be done when they're making mistakes this bad! Anyone with logic should be able to tell that this is impossible... It sucks that things such as this can get printed with no repercussions. I guess they're seeing the high hits on websites such as this talking about these ride...

Re: Nemesis - General Discussion

I would do anything to see the return of the red water, it added so much atmosphere and looked amazing! But alas, I don't think it's likely. I mean, if they can't get all the screens or projectors working in the Smiler's queue, then seeing them tackle something as detailed as dying the water again s...

Re: Towers Loving Care

I hope it does, but I'm still very skeptical... Wasn't it shut for being unsafe or something? That said, I'd love Alton Towers to repair and reopen it because it was a fantastic attraction and I'd love to get a chance to do it again, especially after becoming so much more engulfed in the backstory o...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

I'm not certain either, but when you look it up online, this pops up https://www.towerstimes.co.uk/theme-park/transportation/woodland-walk/ . It seems to be closed at this moment in time, but if it was open and I was to guess, I think it's a separate entrance since it says you'd enter at Forbidden V...

Re: Disneyland Resort

I was absolutely outraged when I saw the advert for Pixar Pier. It seems so haphazard and last minute. Recently, I rode Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout, and although I have never ridden the original Twilight Zone: Tower of Terror, it was so easy to see that this was a quick sellout to get ...

Re: SW9

I think DBGT might have scared away Merlin from trying any simulator rides any time soon, which is sad but makes sense. DBGT is kind of a failure, and even though it would be awesome for a dark ride rollercoaster hybrid to be SW9, I think the fear and recent loss of money will keep them from it. May...

Re: Project Zer0 - Specu1ation

I'm kind of glad to hear that it's fake from the way you describe the video. It's sad that someone would do this, but not that surprising. I'm more surprised that Thorpe didn't catch it themselves and had to have a fan point it out to them. I think this might mark the end of Project Zero.
