Re: Funny Things You've Overheard at Parks

It's not so much as 'overheard' as an experience, but I think it's funny enough to count. There are so many hilarious quotes I don't even think I could choose one.  I went to a little, remote scare park in America one year. It was normally a ski resort, but in October they open haunts. Half of the p...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

Yeah! It was crazy. We just looped Swarm a ton. Four rides in 10 mins or something crazy like that. The pop badge trade thing was surprisingly fun!! I did the pop badge hunt, and ended up with a soundtrack (which I adore to shreds). So weird... everyone in the pop badge place were executive Merlin m...

Re: Wonder Park (2019) - Paramount Pictures

I agree with the others. The park's design is really cool, but the story definitely doesn't show. I can't really tell if it's intentionally supposed to be mysterious, yet then again it doesn't appear to be the type of film that keeps its plot a mystery. Still excited to see what the story ends up be...

Re: Walt Disney World General Discussion

Disney has launched it's Play Disney Parks, which is an AR app that seems to be eerily similar to Battle for Cedar Point. It's an AR app that's dedicated to entertaining guests in queues, sharing trivia and unlocking playlists. I'm intrigued by this because as a concept, it has so many different pos...

Evermore

Evermore is a new Experience Park that is going to come to Utah, and it looks so incredible. Instead of being a regular theme park, this one is all about experience, themed to be a fantasy land. The park is filled with actors, action and so many different story telling avenues. Apparently everything...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

What I'm shocked by is how no Merlin parks have a customer service number you can call. You'd think it'd be park basics 101? But nah, get a Twitter account and text us, that's much more direct to ask questions.

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

Umm, quickly going back to the Thorpe Park fast track pass, I think it's a good deal. It's around £90 for a full day fast track pass, so you're only really paying for 5 days of fast track. That said, the worth of money might change depending on the unclear Terms and Conditions. Surely, they're askin...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - Quick Questions

There was mention of a annual pass event on the Saturday the 21st of July because they had to cancel the annual pass preview day in March, any ideas if its still on? Checked with the Merlin Annual Pass Twitter team, and they've said that details for this event are still to be released. Although, th...

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019?

I think it will be in the Charlie building too, but for different reasons. It’s next to Hex and the Towers, so it would be easy to put all three together into one section on the map and the theming could flow between the three, if they end up doing a classic Dungeons style of attraction and tell the...

I'm totally in love with Kasabian at the moment, they're music is fantastic.

I also adore Avicii and like the song friends by Marshmello

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

I’m not sure if I’m just being silly and stating the obvious but could the reason be for the weird name “Courageous Citizens Recruitment” be an Easter egg? I mean if it is where we think it’ll be, then won’t it be following the Canada Creek Railway? If so this is an adorable Easter egg! I’m excited ...

Re: Disneyland Resort

Wow... that video makes it look so bad. The models they used looked really cheap, it centred around the most boring character in the Incredibles universe and there was a clear overuse of speakers to tell a rather ridiculous story, constantly bombarding riders. I was very disappointed by the Tower of...

Re: Theme Parks and IPs

There is an interesting balance between IPs and Attractions which must be struck, and isn't exactly easy. For an IP to be truly successful, then the creators of the attraction have to understand what made the IP so likeable in the first place. And, if that wasn't a tall enough order on its own, they...

Re: Walt Disney World - Disney's Hollywood Studios

I think this is an interesting move. I heard that there used to be an issue with Hollywood Studios where they didn't know whether their attractions should be similar to Universal's Tram Tour and be a behind the scenes look at film or whether it should be full emersion into film and media such as oth...

Re: General Forum Discussion

I think we should have a part of the forum that's dedicated to tackling the big picture theories around the theme park industry, such as IP, VR, AR, coaster evolution and other things we might come up with. Something that isn't about parks or attractions themsves, rather the ideas or concepts of the...

Re: London Entertainment Resort - General Discussion

I think that Chris is right and we can't call the time of death just yet, but I also don't think we're going to see a miraculous recovery either. Paramount Parks in the past weren’t known for their incredible management and this park is now becoming a discount Paramount Park. It isn't looking good. ...

Re: The Swarm

Swarm is a fantastic attraction and I don't think it gets the credit it deserves. It's theming is so amazing, the burnt church is incredible and it was clear that this attraction was designed with Fright Nights in mind, because they've managed to create an experience that totally changes after dark....

Re: Alton Towers Resort Pin Badges

I know it's not the most sophisticated, but I rather like the phone pin. It's unique to say the least and has a certain, Merliny charm to it.

The other two are just fantastic, nothing else needing to be said. Especially the Rita one, it looks beautiful.
