Re: Nemesis - General Discussion

Forgot to mention this, but has no-one else noticed the most obnoxious new announcement ever. It features someone who sounds like a punk rock fanboy shouting things like “NEMESIS!!!! ENTER THE PIT OF VENGEANCE AT YOUR PERIL!!!!!” It's supposed to be like that, it's from the 90's. 90's pop culture i...

Re: SW9

Merlin operates RTP’s on a four year CAPEX cycle, SW8 was marked for 2017 before being delayed so SW9 is expected 2021/2022 time.

Re: Project 2020

The request they made definitely only covered small additions. :) Here is a quote from their application: It is considered that the adoption of PDRs will provide Thorpe Park with the flexibility to provide small scale kiosks, stalls, small scale rides up to specific agreed heights (temporary and pe...

There are definitely plans for a BigDipper but it was supposed to be built if Icon was a huge success but it hasn’t really been too much.

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

Oh boy, it appears that one of the foam padding signs to notify a seat being out of use has fallen off during operation on Saturday. https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/7273448/thorpe-park-horror-high-speed-vortex-incident/?utm_campaign=Echobox&utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Facebook#Echobox=153713...

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach

I dunno if anyone knows yet but markings have been found around the Trauma Towers area. Rumours are saying this could be some sort of setup for a show later this season, a new flat or a Mack Rides BigDipper.

Re: Congo River Rapids - General Discussion

It’s good to see that Towers are looking after the Rapids well, I’m sure the mist will be amazing when RMT comes through the tunnel.

Re: Project 2020

Towers planning applications are very different to Thorpe's simply due to the location and don't assume how they submit planning applications can't change.

Re: SW9

Thinking about it I’d be happy if we got something which is a mix of Time Traveller and Cobra’s Curse at Towers, it would be something like Wicker Man which blends the line between family and thrill coaster with spinners being known for not being overly intense and Mack’s low height restrictions. In...

Re: Congo River Rapids - General Discussion

The LEDs are probably a safety thing and having a sequence and/or multi coloured could be distracting for staff/cctv.

Also having multi coloured lights will look out of place in KC.

Re: Fright Nights

I have been a critical a lot of Thorpe recently but that looks really good!

2 brand new mazes, 4 returning mazes, 2 new scarezones and surprisingly Angry Birds 4D being used for indie horror films! Well done Thorpe!

Re: The Couch

The year has gone so quick that Wicker Man and Icon have already opened and I’ve ridden them, it’s still fresh in my memory when they were just rumours. Time goes by too quickly.

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

Been to towers 8 times this year, been TP, BPB, DM a few times too... Yesterday at Alton Towers was the best!!! Haven’t seen any park that busy outside Scarefest / Fireworks for well over a decade. The atmosphere was great, queues were long despite all rides having all trains on, and very little do...

Re: Project 42 (Nemesis Sub-Terra) - New for Scarefest 2018

Does anyone know what actually happened to the egg? I remember seeing a jokey picture a while ago of the egg and a sign saying please take me... That'll be from one of the PR stunts Merlin did in London a while back. It's not recent.  As far as I'm aware one egg were used in the SW series last year...

Re: 2015-2019: Possible Developments?

There is a Sea Life expansion already confirmed for 2019 as well as a heavily rumoured CatCF retheme as well as the Stargazing pods as seen from the planning application. I'll doubt Sea Life will need planning permission for an extension as it would probably come under the GDO and if there's a CatCF...

Re: What do you think should replace CCL?

Dark themes are not a problem in my eyes, They can feel very different. For example compare Wicker Man and X-Sector, you would say both areas have 'dark themes' but the feeling they give is distinct. Now compare this to other Dungeons, Dark Forest, Forbidden Valley each of them have their own distin...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

If the SRQ didn't cost any extra to operate on Spinball then there must have been some problem with guests abusing it in some capacity.

I saw this on Facebook earlier.

Seems like a joint PR stunt between Coca-Cola and Merlin. Interesting to see how long it lasts.

Re: Towers Loving Care

That's another flat ride gone. Honestly I don't see why Merlin hate flat rides, the general public love them.  How many flats are left in the park now? 3? That's the same amount as Chessington.  Drayton and Thorpe each have 6 flats in each park, and they are a fraction the size of Towers. I honestly...
