Re: The Future of Nemesis Sub-Terra

What I don't understand is that this ride system is supposedly is the same as Drop Dead at Blackpool and London but they work completely fine but this system is the most troublesome and Sub Terra is at a theme park not a midway. Sounds odd to me.  It sounds to me as if they want it to reopen because...

Re: SW9

DBGT failed because it had no clear direction on what they were doing with it. They still are changing it around now.  SW9 will most likely be a coaster because of Merlin's past track of dark rides in the past. Gruffallo only saw 1.3% attendance increase, DBGT did nothing to attendance despite spend...

Re: London Entertainment Resort - General Discussion

The London Resort website is still offline and Companies House have them listed as overdue on their confirmation statement. https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/07625574 The confirmation statement is pretty much tick some boxes and pay a small fee. Whilst it's not unheard of for this to lapse...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

Wow, they really seem to be pushing these new annual passes this year. They've advertised the MAP's heavily in previous years but this year they seem to be going towards the individual passes this year. They seem to post a new message on the Facebook page pushing these at least once every week. I wo...

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

I'd say the ride has a dark theme but I wouldn't say it has a 'horror' theme. It doesn't have any defining horror tropes.

Re: Alton Towers Magic Making Museum

Maybe they could turn what currently is the CBeebies Hotel display room on TowersStreet into a mini Madame Tussuads style attraction with old ride parts/theming and models of influencal people within making Alton Towers what it is today. I'd think that'll be a nice way to start/end the day at Alton ...

Re: The Future of Oblivion (20th and Beyond)

In my honest opinion, Oblivion needs a retheme. It doesn't need changing physically. Smiler has a theme with uniforms, Oblivion needs that too. It may be old but I see so many people and kids going on for the first time and in my view it is not 'old.' Just outdated and need a retheme. Nemesis is ol...

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

What is the point in that video? It's litterally just a ride POV with a jumpscare of pepporoni halfway up the lift hill.

Re: Galactica - General Discussion

If the VR goes completely from Galactica, I wouldn't be suprised. The only part of the VR content that was good was the lift hill, the rest of it seemed a blur and it has murdered Air's capacity. We have already seen the photo booth and four rows of VR removed, so I can't imagine the last three rows...

Re: Alton Towers 40th Anniversary in 2020

Wasteland Bash is in an area of the park with predominantly thrill rides so most traffic in FV is teens/adults wanting to go on the roller coasters not watch shows couple this with the fact it has no mention of it what so ever outside of Ripsaw's site it's not surprising there's little people watchi...

Re: Alton Towers 40th Anniversary in 2020

Towers doesn't need a parade, The entrance isn't big enough to accomedate guests + a parade without affecting traffic. However I could see some sort of mini celebration going on. But I'd imagine they'd want the focus to be the 2020 addition.

Re: Enchanted Village Expansion 2018 - 2021

People seem to forget Merlin are a business. Building more and more accommodation is part of their strategy to bring in more revenue, From a business prospective why spend £20mill plus on a new ride when you can spend £10mill on accommodation and bring in higher returns.  But it seems a bit silly th...

Re: 2015-2019: Possible Developments?

Personally I'd like to see Otters or Penguins somewhere but I'd also agree with Robert that it should be an addition as well as the supposed Gangsta Granny ride. But it sounds like it's not gonna be the only 2019 project if they're still deciding what to add now whereas we already know that a 2019 p...

Re: Project 2020

Even if this is to do with Thorpe it's not to do with Project 2020, Why bother starting the marketing campaign when there's not even planning permission submitted yet! Many people have said it's related to the SAW:Alive maze and it having a retheme/refresh based off the new Jigsaw film (Of which a s...

Re: 2015-2019: Possible Developments?

Merlin's Capex cycle, Much like other Theme Park Operators, have a new investment every year.  Merlin's Capex cycle makes Towers probably due a small investment for 2019, This'll probably something like a Sea Life expansion or Cbeebies Land attraction coupled with something like a new F&B outlet...
