Re: Towers Loving Care

That's another flat ride gone. Honestly I don't see why Merlin hate flat rides, the general public love them.  How many flats are left in the park now? 3? That's the same amount as Chessington.  Drayton and Thorpe each have 6 flats in each park, and they are a fraction the size of Towers. I honestly...

Wow, that looks very impressive concept. It will be interesting to see how well Samsung can execute this.

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019?

Hmm, I dunno if a scare attraction could work to be honest. Merlin have done attractions like SAW: Alive and Sub Terra before and they were massive flops mainly because there wasn't enough interest for a return visit for most of the public but maybe if they somehow have it so it is outside the CAPEX...

Re: Scarefest

On a serious note though, What is the Galactica Cabin Crew thing is it some new Halloween VR content for Galactica or is it some street performance in Galactica's area?

The number 42 is meant to be the meaning of life.
Just saying.

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

I'd imagine the rapids is one of the most popular rides in the park as it appeals to both thrill seekers and families alike as well as  being a theme park staple, they'd be stupid to remove such a popular attraction.  What the rapids need now is a major overhaul, new scenery, new theming, new effect...

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019?

But maybe they could move the drop towers from this to the CatCF building? No chance, It would require a lot of effort to do that as they would have to find space to put the drop towers without effecting the boat ride or lifts, ripping up any of the ground within the building, pour a large footer ...

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019?

It'll be actual history with The Dungeons as they are supposed to be educational, they won't go with any of the rides as the stories are all made up.  Also, The Dungeons have a distinct enough brand that it wouldn't fit in with DF, I'd reckon they'll say it's in the same area as Hex (Like what they ...

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019?

If the attraction is heavily focused on the Charlie boat/lift retheme I'd expect that it'll have a heavily focus on them with the traditional Plague Doctor, Executioner and Courtroom scenes thrown and the final two final scenes focusing on the grounds themselves.  I think this could be a ni...

Re: The Future of Nemesis Sub-Terra

What I don't understand is that this ride system is supposedly is the same as Drop Dead at Blackpool and London but they work completely fine but this system is the most troublesome and Sub Terra is at a theme park not a midway. Sounds odd to me.  It sounds to me as if they want it to reopen because...

Re: SW9

DBGT failed because it had no clear direction on what they were doing with it. They still are changing it around now.  SW9 will most likely be a coaster because of Merlin's past track of dark rides in the past. Gruffallo only saw 1.3% attendance increase, DBGT did nothing to attendance despite spend...

Re: London Entertainment Resort - General Discussion

The London Resort website is still offline and Companies House have them listed as overdue on their confirmation statement. https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/07625574 The confirmation statement is pretty much tick some boxes and pay a small fee. Whilst it's not unheard of for this to lapse...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

Wow, they really seem to be pushing these new annual passes this year. They've advertised the MAP's heavily in previous years but this year they seem to be going towards the individual passes this year. They seem to post a new message on the Facebook page pushing these at least once every week. I wo...

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

I'd say the ride has a dark theme but I wouldn't say it has a 'horror' theme. It doesn't have any defining horror tropes.

Re: Alton Towers Magic Making Museum

Maybe they could turn what currently is the CBeebies Hotel display room on TowersStreet into a mini Madame Tussuads style attraction with old ride parts/theming and models of influencal people within making Alton Towers what it is today. I'd think that'll be a nice way to start/end the day at Alton ...

Re: The Future of Oblivion (20th and Beyond)

In my honest opinion, Oblivion needs a retheme. It doesn't need changing physically. Smiler has a theme with uniforms, Oblivion needs that too. It may be old but I see so many people and kids going on for the first time and in my view it is not 'old.' Just outdated and need a retheme. Nemesis is ol...

What is the point in that video? It's litterally just a ride POV with a jumpscare of pepporoni halfway up the lift hill.

Re: Galactica - General Discussion

If the VR goes completely from Galactica, I wouldn't be suprised. The only part of the VR content that was good was the lift hill, the rest of it seemed a blur and it has murdered Air's capacity. We have already seen the photo booth and four rows of VR removed, so I can't imagine the last three rows...
