Re: Project 2020

My only concern over 2020 though, is that there were a lot of announcements at IAAPA last week for the 2020 and mostly 2021 seasons. Yet, all is still quiet at Thorpe. This did cross my mind but I'm not worried about this because it is the park's choice when an attraction is revealed and Thorpe has...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Music and Videos

Not sure if this has been on here before but I'll post it again anyway. The Hex theme is available as piano sheet music. It was transcribed by ear by Alastair Adams so is not my work. I took his sheet music and turned it into a musescore file if any of you use that. I also made a couple of minor cha...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

Ok don't bring up Legolands rapids here :lol
No I have no connection to Rumba so if it was gone I wouldn't really care. I do think it has a place in the park though. As a water ride it's very different to Tidal Wave and offers a very different experience.

Wouldn’t be the worst thing if it was removed, worst rapids I’ve ever ridden.

Strange that because I actually loved it. There was just the right amount of motion and the tunnel was nice. It maybe lacked a theme but I did enjoy it

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

Those festoon led lights don’t look great in the day do they? But they do look georgeous at night IMO  I’m a vaper, I don’t do it in queue lines, I sometimes have a quick suck, not enough to blow anything out, but that’s it... However, I do not use the designated smoking areas either. I use e cigar...

Re: Industry Talk

Blooloop posted the article Paying the price for your theme park (and parking) experience today. I urge you to give it a read as it is interesting. It gives an in-depth look at recent trends regarding pricing strategies. If the merlin parks were open every day of the season I think they would benefi...

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019

They won't put a very successful brand in then to close it down a couple of seasons later. It will be here to stay and while it may only be seasonal, I do think they are looking at the parks long term future, possibly opening up the resort and selected attractions during closed season. This is alre...

You're quite right Sozzy40. Those little touches really do add to the map and make it even more of an art piece.
Here's the map for reference:

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

I left a very negative review here in May so I thought I'd update it after my trip on the 21st-22nd October Overall the park was fantastic. Lighting  I haven't been to Scarefest since 2013 so I'm glad to see that the horrible floods have been replaced with the LEDs with coloured gel filters. Lightin...

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019

2-for-1 entry vouchers to the park and the new Alton Towers Dungeon have been released for visits in 2019. As well as suggesting an opening date of both the Dungeons and theme park of 23rd March 2019, the combined ticket indicates an upcharge addition like the similar attraction at Warwick Castle. ...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

Is there a specific time that the park will 'shut' so to say. I see right now The Wickerman queue is about 150 minutes. I'm going to the park tomorrow and if we were to get into the queue, right now just before 9pm and then will we be able to queue up until about 11:30pm and then ride? Or will they...
