Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019

Yeah I thought that might be a little too long for a secondary attraction. I think it works at Warwick because there's nothing to do there. There's loads at towers so an hour out of the day is still a really big impact Actually, there is quite a lot to do at Warwick, especially if you visit in peak...

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019

I do agree that a 1 to 2 hour experience reduces the already short amount of ride time. If it is clearly advertised that it is long, they may struggle to sell tickets but if it is not, guests may come out upset that they've lost so much time or may spend the experience agitated that they are wasting...

Re: Alton Towers Resort Future - General Discussion & Wishes

But it makes me wonder, is Frog Hopper drop tower 1 and Thorpe's Lumber Jump, tower 2? Seems unlikely Alton would keep Frog Hopper given this and Thorpe appear to be clearing Old Town out, with Lumber Jump certainly not being a permanent fixture. I don't think so. These towers have an odd support s...

Re: Alton Towers Resort Future - General Discussion & Wishes

According to the Design and Access Statement, the ride may be a relocation. This is the style of ride: http://publicaccess.staffsmoorlands.gov.uk/portal/servlets/AttachmentShowServlet?ImageName=217135 https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/395989287155531786/534436456530182145/Capture3.PNG

Re: Nemesis - General Discussion

I've found Nemesis to be quite tame this season. Not sure why. Its also a shame that the back row is still restricted to disabled pass but I understand their thinking.
I tried front row for the first time in April. Unfortunately it didn't live up to the hype and got off thinking 'meh'

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

I also seem to remember hearing 50% a while ago. I imagine they tell you that to avoid complaints if people do have to wait. nicky.borril, the procedure is that fasttracks and main line guests are proportioned fairly, not just fasttrack all go because they've paid.

Re: Rita - General Discussion

After my first few visits to towers, I enjoyed the thrill of Rita and even decided it was my favourite at the park. This year, after not visiting for many years, I have noticed how rough it can be, and also how boring the layout is after the initial launch. But above all of that, my main hate for Ri...

Re: SW9

I have been thinking and something great for SW9 is a launched Flume ride. Only cause you see the hydraulic water slide launches recently and I think something like that but an LSM launch especially built for water coasters and their manufacturers like Intamin or Mack. Mack's PowerSplash model is a...

Re: Forum Quizzes

Last minute - but could Dom be given coloured text privileges in the SB for these? It would make tracking the questions easier when there's a lot of s pammed responses covering all possibilities  thoughtful responses from participants. :) I could write in caps lock I guess :) Yeah that would do if ...

Re: Alton Towers Resort Future - General Discussion & Wishes

Unlikely, but it could be a 'hanging' themed ride outside of the dungeons that is still branded dungeons to help bring the area together. But yeah, very unlikely

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

This year they have changed the rules and will not be permitting any masks or weapons, what ever they are made from. Another rule that they didn't enforce, despite 'decent' folk obviously obeying and not bringing them. I saw loads of masks, full face included and lots of weapons too. I must have se...

Though the collective knowledge of the members here is comparable to a complete encyclopaedia of Alton Towers knowledge, Both of your questions might be better directed towards Alton Towers themselves. You can try the Alton Towers social media accounts as they are fairly well staffed or possibly the...

The Survey asked multiple questions about the VR experience, possibly suggesting they are making decisions on whether to keep it. Everyone go do the survey and give them your opinions

Re: Project 2020

My only concern over 2020 though, is that there were a lot of announcements at IAAPA last week for the 2020 and mostly 2021 seasons. Yet, all is still quiet at Thorpe. This did cross my mind but I'm not worried about this because it is the park's choice when an attraction is revealed and Thorpe has...

Ben.

The voucher from the end of the season suggested it will open with the park on 23rd of March

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Music and Videos

Not sure if this has been on here before but I'll post it again anyway. The Hex theme is available as piano sheet music. It was transcribed by ear by Alastair Adams so is not my work. I took his sheet music and turned it into a musescore file if any of you use that. I also made a couple of minor cha...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

Ok don't bring up Legolands rapids here :lol
No I have no connection to Rumba so if it was gone I wouldn't really care. I do think it has a place in the park though. As a water ride it's very different to Tidal Wave and offers a very different experience.
