Re: ‘Stargazing Pods’ Accommodation Discussion

I don't see why Merlin thought they wouldn't get away with having tents at Alton Towers. Europa Park have tents, so what? It's not the type of accommodation that matters at the end of the day, it's the standard that it is completed to that really matters. Does it have all the necessary facilities? D...

That original boat looks a lot safer than even the modified ones they have been testing recently.

Ah, yes. Saw that. :ok: Pleased to see the resort actively accepting requests to film on the rides. :)

Re: ‘Stargazing Pods’ Accommodation Discussion

Yeah... I don't imagine these being very popular during the 8 or so winter months the UK traditionally gets.

I have to say, if these show pods have been set up to make people want to stay in them, they're successfully doing exactly the opposite of that.

I don't know about heating, but they'll have insulation. Possibly too small to have any proper heating?

Re: ‘Stargazing Pods’ Accommodation Discussion

Is it just me, or does the double bed at the back look and bit too short and the two single beds at the front look a bit too narrow? Either way, just as I suspected, zero theming. Absolutely nothing unique or "magical" about these. Even as pod accommodation, they could have been executed t...

Re: ‘Stargazing Pods’ Accommodation Discussion

One thing – I genuinely really like they way they've branded this. Looks very nice, but not trying to oversell itself. It's clever marketing (and pricing) that will be the only way to make this work.

Re: 2015-2019: Possible Developments?

Forbidden Valley, Dark Forest and X-Sector all need one family  flat ride each. Forbidden Valley and Dark Forest also need one thrill flat ride. The reasoning I have for more family flat rides is because at the moment there isn't enough for families to do that have kids who are too old for CBeebies ...

Re: EnergyLandia

Saddened to hear about the death of the park employee. :( Thoughts with family and friends. Apparently there is a video (I haven't seen it) from earlier this year of an Energylandia employee entering a ride area whilst the ride was still in operation to retrieve someones lost property. It'd be worry...

[BREAKING] Serious Accident on Hyperion According to Looopings on Twitter, there has been some sort of accident on Energylandia's new Hyperion rollercoaster, which only just opened earlier this year. Re: Project 42 (Nemesis Sub-Terra) - New for Scarefest 2018

I don't think they'd need one. Drop tower type rides are that simple, that even young children could ride. This being a scare maze, and with their being an age restriction of 15 yrs and over, literally everyone will be of a height where they could easily ride.

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

They have apparently been trained to be descendents of the Beornen. This was the first time I saw any interaction. It would be nice to see this worked upon! Descendents of the Beornen?  I think not.  When we were last there the ride stopped and one of the team had to go to the top of the lift tower...

Re: Congo River Rapids - General Discussion

To be fair, with the weather being the way it is, I don't know wether I'd want to get absolutely soaked on a rapids ride in the UK, at least not in winter anyway, in the summer, maybe. If only they had a way they could make rapids wetter in the warmer months and drier in the colder ones!
