Re: Duel: Retheme, Replace or Remove?

Considering Alton will want to make the most out of their SW8 marketing, they won't be able to change it enough to market it as being an updated attraction like Hex was. All the stuff they do will be minor, hopefully just improvements to what is already there.

Re: Duel: Retheme, Replace or Remove?

I guess that is SW8 really is part of Gloomy Wood, it could be possible for a few changes to occur to Duel, however I personally wouldn't like this to happen because that Alton would have two attractions that have too many links to the same theme...

Re: The Future of Nemesis Sub-Terra

I have always had a feeling that Sub Terra possibly closed because the theme of something going wrong on a ride wouldn't appeal to people after The Smiler accident... but it has been closed perhaps too long for this to be the case.

Re: SW8 Construction Discussion

Whilst the idea of Gruffalo might not fit with the marketing, it's interesting to speculate it could be some sort of animal or creature, that perhaps looks similar... but this is the Construction Discussion, so yeah, fair enough if it looks like the Gruffalo.  :)

Re: Disneyland Resort Paris

Yeah, I only stumble across rumours when I'm researching parks and stuff, but it's nice to have a bit of hope... ED92 had a very good article with amazing details from a shareholders meeting from a while ago, but I now can't find that article... it had a lot of information on how WDS would have been...

Re: Disneyland Resort Paris

Yes, I actually heard that somewhere quite a while ago... I can't remember where though... I've heard that they are planning to overhaul the whole backlot area of the park into a Marvel themed area - except that they aren't going to elaborately theme it or anything, just simple overlays and stuff. A...

Re: Duel: Retheme, Replace or Remove?

Yes, I think it was when The Haunted House was rethemed to Duel, they installed new lighting and stuff. A general service of the mechanisms would also help sort out the timing issues. I hope they sort out the Trommel Tunnel out as well as it's  not been functioning for a long while.

That was my thought when they first turned them off! It does look like a temple!

Re: Phantasialand

Seeing some of the pictures posted by members on this topic, I think the theme of this new Coaster might be some kind of industrial theme a bit like Baron 1898 in Efteling... and those seats... I think they look better than Galactica's!

Re: Duel: Retheme, Replace or Remove?

I guess ANY work at all is a good sign, but I hope it isn't just a paint touch up though. If they give it the same attention as they did Hex, I will indeed be very pleased! I'd actually like to see if they can rework some of the lighting in some areas so some of the effect mechanisms aren't illumina...

Re: Scarefest

I really hope that losing the scare zone in Forbidden Valley is a sign that there will be something new there which will involve Sub Terra this Scarefest... it just kind of makes sense... Forbidden Valley with no Scarefest attractions wouldn't be very good in my opinion. The effect they used there l...

I'm also hoping that at some point they will be able to turn the waterfalls back on... I really hope! It won't be the same on the Katanga path when it reopens in 2018 with out the waterfall splashing sound!

Re: Busch Gardens Tampa

I've read numerous articles about rides not being properly maintained or maintained to a high standard... it's just from what I have seen though as I said. I too agree that some of the rides at the Orlando park are beautifully created. I find that Seaworld other parks lack a bit of imagination in s...

I would agree with that, Jack. From what I have seen with the Seaworld parks, they are a little run down in some places.

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

I find it quite ridiculous that they keep building all these hotels and planning expansions to the Enchanted Village despite having to close one of the existing hotels because they can't fill it. Stupid.  I am sure that the closure of the Splash Landings Hotel was already planned before the Cebeebi...

Definitely worth sparing half an hour for. Was very interesting and has some great footage of the ride and Alton Towers at the time!

There is an actual backstory about it being something like 3000 years in the future and a new space travel port has opened in FV... its a bit loose though.

Re: SW8 Speculation and Discussion

I am starting to think the theme, if the theming structure does turn out to be a wickerman, that the overall theme could be about some ancient pagan burial/worship place like stone henge, but it would be haunted... to be honest I still don't have a clue!

Re: Alton Towers - General Discussion

Is it possible that we could see a larger scale interactive VR attraction in the theme park in a couple of years? If Galactica's "success" is anything to go by, I would predict now that it's unlikely... I suppose that the type of experience going on in the Alton Towers Hotel is completely...
