Just out of interest, how do we know this is completely true? I fully believe it but I don’t think there is any evidence that it has

Re: SW8 Speculation and General Discussion

The documents did say the ride would be finished by December for 3 months of testing and training. I think it will open on opening day now

Re: SW8 Speculation and General Discussion

The opening line of “it is done” suggests to me that either the theming structure or the ride itself is finished. I really am loving these teasers and I can’t wait for the full announcement, whenever that may be. I think it means the ride has been finished, and they are ready to test. I think the a...

Re: The Future Of Th13teen

I’d love for Th13teen’s outdoor section to be made longer, and the trims off. Th13teen is probably the Rollercoaster I have ridden the most in my life (may only be beaten by Stampida or El Diablo). I’d hate for it to leave, but would welcome a longer outdoor section, although it will never happen

The structure looks great! I hope we see some pictures of track work (if you can see any of it from the areas you can go)

Re: SW8 Speculation and General Discussion

We’ll probably get 5 or 6 more clues (if we’re lucky) I’m guessing that because winners will be contacted by Jan 13 that we probably will have had an official announcement by then

It's a great ride that needs to be given some slack!

Re: Greatest Scare Attraction of all Time?!

My favourite maze is Sub Species. I only started doing mazes last year, and only did Terror of the Towers because I was too young for Skin and Sub Species. This year TotT was still great, and in a group of 5 at the back it was great! Skin Snatchers was fun, especially being the youngest, so I was pi...

Re: Rita - General Discussion

Rita is my favourite UK coaster, and my favourite non Spanish coaster. It is my 5th favourite coaster and I adore it. I know some people want it to close, but I love it. On the front row the launch is always incredible, and the airtime is great aswell. If this was to close we better get a powerful i...

Re: End of Season Review 2017

I only visited the park once this year, and I probably won’t come back next year. I think the park is just too busy, because we fit it in with Thorpe Park in April, and we only got on 3 rides the whole day: Vampire (Which broke down), Dragons Fury and Rattlesnake. I get I’m not the target audience, ...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

Going on from what Justin said, the queue line needs cleaning up and Gateshead put in to shorten the length of the queue path. Where the sign is that says “No eating or drinking beyond this point” There are no bins. This makes some people just leave bottles and food on the floor, making the last cat...

Re: New to the forum? Introduce yourself here!

Hello! I’ve been on the forums since September, but never actually introduced myself. I’m Jacob and I’m from West Yorkshire. My favourite coaster is Shambhala, and my favourite in the UK is Rita (I have VERY strange opinions, I rank Stampida and Furius Baco as my numbers 2 and 3, and Nemesis as abou...

Re: SW8 Speculation and General Discussion

While I can't help but get excited when I see things like this video, I still have an underlying worry when I see how they're marketing this as a world-class themed experience as the last time Merlin did that sort of thing, we got the sensational fail of the Ghost Train. Hopefully Merlin have learn...

Really enjoyed that trailer gave a good feel for the final theme I hope and "Beornen" is middle english to be consumed by fire or left to ash. Edit: can also mean burning a home or item in a sacrifice to god If it can mean burning an item in a sacrifice or being consumed by fire, this wou...

Re: End of Season Review 2017

2017 was a great year for me with Alton Towers, I think I visited 9 times this year (I live over 2 hours away) and enjoyed every visit for different reasons, once being to ride hex once again, being there on the day the SW8 supports went vertical (May 30th), watching SW8 rise, the scare mazes were a...

Re: SW8 Construction Discussion

If it had to be for anything.. my money is on Capt. Barnacles theory, would make sense as the building was only just being started before closed season.. if more than 1 appears then we'll know they could be anywhere on site. Let’s just hope Merlin don’t put them everywhere! Has it been considered i...

I'm thinking it could possibly be something for the pre show.

I hadn’t thought of that! That could work well, if there was a screen showing a video and then a light shines onto the statue, with a screen behind it showing flames rising, it might not work, but it could!

Where is the oak tree? I’ve seen videos of it but never have seen it in person, how do you get to it from Alton Towers?

Just out of interest, with the Alton Towers 2017 season ending in 45 minutes, will this discussing end or continue throughout winter, because we can’t see or get photos of construction?

What was the fireworks theme this year? I’ve never been to the fireworks event so I don’t know what it’s like.
