Re: Efteling

What a fantastic idea! It's always great to see parks making an effort to combat inequality in the guest experience. The future of theme parks will certainly be interesting as VR and similar technologies improve and with it the increasing possibility of making ride experiences more inclusive.

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach

To add to the praise - Icon is simply fantastic and one of the top, if not the best, roller coasters in the UK! Immensely fun layout, great laterals, lots of air time, spot of hang time here and there, a couple of intense turns, and very re-rideable. My only gripe was the big boy seats on the back r...

Re: Oblivion - General Discussion

These news outlets are clearly just using these normal and safe operational events to drive traffic to their websites / online media and purchases of their papers, and nothing more. They should be ashamed of themselves - it isn't good journalism - and all they are doing is exploiting (for presumably...

Re: Oblivion - General Discussion

Anecdote alert! I can't say this applies to the majority of the GP, however, I've always been struck how my non-enthusiast friends and family find Oblivion (front or back row!) so imposing and terrifying compared to the other rides at Towers. Oblivion's layout may be simple in comparison to newer d...

Re: SeaWorld Orlando

To clarify. Except from my first sentence, the rest of the paragraph was not specifically referring to SeaWorld's operations. Rather, it was referring to the standards and welfare practices in law and enforced by the related governing bodies in of themselves. I had no intention of suggesting that Se...

Re: SeaWorld Orlando

PETA are less than palatable or accurate when it comes to putting across their arguments, however - while Seaworld have made amendments to their operations - it still stands that their past reputation for maintaining ethical standards and welfare practices is not exactly glowing! Generally, there is...

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach

It always amazes me that there is such concern when additive seat belts are not present. Perhaps parks should advertise that, for example on Mack megacoasters, the duel hydraulic fail safe restraint mechanism is vastly superior and safer than those seatbelts. If they feel the need to put seatbelts o...

Today Europa Park have unveiled a dedicated website  for the upcoming Eurosat - CanCan Coaster. This came along with some new concept art for the ride's refreshed station and queue, https://i.imgur.com/nGK0qQv.jpg https://i.imgur.com/XHAZNY7.jpg Furthermore, Mack Rides have revealed the front car on...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

Nemesis was only running the one train yesterday morning, can't imagine they ran the second train later into the afternoon given the park was so quiet. :)

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

Managed to grab a ride at the front today, super lucky that was! I thought the pre-show was great and was quite taken aback by the theming, energy, and atmosphere of the station - Towers' best coaster station by a long shot. I found it to be quite intense! It's certainly not one for air time towards...

Re: New to the forum? Introduce yourself here!

Hey, I'm Michael and new to the forum.  :D I've been a roller coaster enthusiast since the late 90s (caught the coaster bug early in life  :lol ), and have been a fan of Alton Towers since 2002. Looking forward to interesting discussions, and hopefully making some similarly theme park obsessed frien...
