Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019?

This announcement seems to be being met with about the same level of apathy as Walking Dead The Ride at Thorpe (which I feel was justified)

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

35+mph winds predicted all day Saturday- guessing that means no coasters and potential park closure? We have our scarefest tickets and hotels booked :(

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

Do Woodcutter's and Rollercoaster Restaurant both do MAP discount?

Have tried Pizza pasta (Thorpe variant) which is ok and RCR (got food poisoning so not too keen to go back) so perhaps Woodcutter's for a change :)

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

We don't usually eat on park but on our scarefest visit we will be on park so long a hot meal is required.

What food outlet would you recommend for a reasonable (for themempark) ballence of quality and price?

Re: Scarefest - General Discussion

Beware of visiting on a Sunday during the first week or two, especially when the Uttoxeter racing is on = Alcohol ban and high police presence ;) The Uttoxeter racing is on the first weekend (6-7 of October) for those wondering. Hopefully won't have any issues with the *cough* clientele that get at...

Re: What happened to Ripsaw?

They really should have just bought a new Top Spin as they're great rides and relatively inexpensive. However, this is a Merlin park, they don't do flats. Would love a similar ride (perhaps a ripoff) for the park. I miss ripsaw and RR is just too tame on the stupidly short cycle it has now. RIP rip...

Had the headsets physically been removed or were they still in their pouches?

I read somewhere on Instagram that Alton Towers are announcing 2019 today. Not heard anything else though?

Re: SW9

Would be a certain winner with park guests! Something along the line of journey to atlantis at universal or a drop along the lines of dudley do right ripsaw falls would be epic! If they themed it aswell as Wickerman it would be worthy of the title SW.. Would be the fist water based SW aswell so ano...

Re: SW9

A water coaster (with filtered water- please!) would definitely fill that gap though and be worthy of a Secret Weapon title if themed well enough.

Re: Your worst experience at Alton Towers

wished thorpe park did this after I was stuck and ended up being evaced on ride after 45 mins in the underground car on ghost train They are meant to and normally do. Either the Island Action Squad get dispatched or a couple of managers. Not sure why that went doubly wrong for you in that instance....

Re: Your worst experience at Alton Towers

Most of the time when I have had problems at Alton they have broken out the Priority Passes to placate me including getting return ones for Thirteen that I got in February due to it ceasing operation as <5 deg (used recently to bypass a 1.5hr Congo Rapids que).  wished thorpe park did this after I w...

Re: Alton Towers 2019 Wish List

If they can just pull a Thorpe Park and fix all the broken effects I would be a happy man. That said I'm going to echo everyone else- more flats going back to Thorpe their years when they added Rush and Slammer as well as Vortex, Quantum and Samurai added a lot to do at the park and took a lot of pr...

Re: Inside Alton Towers - General Discussion

I thought it was ok but a bit on the dull side to be honest. Agree with the above that safety improvements would be nice to have been included. I thought they could have included some respected community figures like Shawn from TPW too, instead of just enthusiasts who use theme parks to help with th...

Re: Rate the Rollercoasters (2018 Edition)

I am so happy that so many enthusiasts are rating W icker Man so highly. It really was the coster towers needed- liked by enthusiasts and families alike. My ratings 1) Wicker Man- It has everything I could want from a coaster, fast, fun and great theming. Worth a 1+ hour queue. 2) Nemesis- A classic...

Re: Congo River Rapids - General Discussion

If the Resort did want to go down the route of using seatbelts, then they could look at using a similar design to Dollywood. Dollywood's rapids utilise a velcro style seatbelt which is enough to ensure guests remain seated, however in the event of an accident they would easily be able to be release...
