Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

It was essentially a remix of their The Walking Dead: The Ride advert but with the Living Nightmare Extreme logo at the end. It was up for about 15 minutes before they realised it was public. Edit: on a side note I'm fairly sure there are ride operators in that advert :) Edit 2: As it appears the ad...

Re: The Walking Dead: Living Nightmare Extreme

Well every time I've been this year I've heard people talking about coming back for fright nights. So the mazes over the summer could be a very big advert for it. Unless Thorpe manage to goof up with them at some point... Not that fright nights really need more people coming :lol Looking forward to ...

Re: The Walking Dead: The Ride - New for 2018

Rode again a week later and they were operating with 2 to 3 actors throughout the day. The actors were doing brilliantly and came up with a different 'scene' each time I rode. During shift change they entered the site in character and I watched them scaring people trying to leave the ride as they s...

Please don't tell me this is planned maintenance right on top of half term and then all the school trips!

Re: Colossus

Having ridden this today for the first time in a while, I'm joining club tear it down! I used to quite like it being the only stereotypical looking rollercoaster in the park, with 2 across seating, loops and the such. But man, this ride was terrible today. First the ride went into emergency stop mod...

Re: The Swarm

Looks like The Swarm had a bad end to the day. It was listed as closed for a fair bit of the late afternoon. When I left at 5:30, one train was stopped at the top of the lift hill empty. I assume they had to evacuate it as can't see any reason to position a train up there otherwise. Assuming it did ...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

Quite possible to try and deter those who do have cards with them from using cash. However, I've seen people queue, get to the counter see the sign and leave. So having the secret hidden cash option is definitely weird!

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

Operations really weird today. Nemesis was running one train with minimum staff this morning creating a 70 minute queue with barely anyone in the park. Stealth looks like it might still be on one train. Whilst Walking Dead is operating with more actors than I've seen before. Also some of the card on...

Re: Disneyland Resort Paris

I may have interpreted it wrong, but I thing most of the changes to the food and beverages are more to do with menu options rather than reworking the actual systems. I guess time will tell!  I'm never failed to be amazed at just how slow the quick serve restaurants operate at Paris when taking orde...

Re: Disneyland Resort Paris

That's an impressively long list of updates they'll be making! I'm surprised they're recommissioning the Mark Twain. The last time I saw that the wood at the front was mostly rotten and it looked like they were just using it to salvage parts for the Molly Brown. But will the changes to the counter f...

Re: Samurai

Looks like Samurai has had a parts failure. On Sunday it was listed as Come Back Later with a staff member posted outside, but at the time I thought that was a bit hopeful given the cherry picker parked by it and some of the motor casing having been removed. It's still listed as closed so I assume t...

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

When I was there on a super off-peak week day the flames that worked were running. But each morning tech services seemed to eye then with suspicion and I believe there's a control box or sensor box near them which they spent a fair while each morning at. Whilst I do expect them to be turned off duri...

Re: Project Zer0 - Specu1ation

I really suspect that website is fake sadly. It's asking for you to enter your email address without telling you who is collecting it or what they'll use it for. In about a week's time the fines for doing that will be huge and not something a publicly traded company would be doing. It's quite possib...

Re: Galactica - General Discussion

I got a picture on my DigiPass, mostly for the slight absurdity of a photo of me me clinging onto to the headset whilst riding. Have only ridden with VR once and the tracking was off by about 10 degrees to the right and then the headset tried to fly off on the first turn. Redeeming feature was that ...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

I'm not sure its overly fair to lay the blame with the social media team. No doubt they relayed the information about park rules that they had been given and which was stated on the website's FAQs.  As a member of Alton's staff, they have a responsibility to speak up when seeing things that may impa...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

Theme Park Worldwide are now reporting that they've spoken to park senior management and have been told that photos and video can be taken on the rapids, so long as everyone remains seated and hold on at all times. https://twitter.com/ThemeParkWW/status/996358061731254276?s=19 Complete mess of confl...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

Yep, this is exactly what they should be doing. Chessington have changed a lot of their example photos to empty trains this year as the alternative.

Getting a lined up let alone good photo on Spinball, is pretty lucky in itself. Your brother is now part of Alton history!

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

I've just seen this noted elsewhere and have gone through it myself to check, but it appears the park terms and conditions of entry don't actually state you can't use cameras on rides. What it does say is that: you must respect others privacy; not take pictures for commercial gain; and follow any re...
