Re: Logger's Leap

Been burnt too many times by their social media. In my view they seem to think that continually suggesting things they know not to be happening, to get a response online, is good marketing. Bonus if they can then get people in the community to mock others for "falling" for it. Given they c...

The app is as it was for Fright Nights, where the Rapids isn't an attraction. :)

Re: Alton Towers Stargazing Pods - Opening April 12th 2019

Going back to the trademark applications that first pointed at the name of these pods, the original generic name Stargazing Pods,  has been refused a trademark by the  Intellectual Property Office .  I believe that Alton were aware that this would be the likely outcome fairly early on, as a month af...

Re: Walt Disney World - Disney's Hollywood Studios

I got to experience the new Toy Story Land, which is wonderfully themed but I felt doesn't offer nearly as much as I would have expected. With just three attractions, of which only two are new, one cafe and two Meet and Greet spots, it's a little disappointing that Disney didn't offer more from the ...

Re: Walt Disney World - Disney's Animal Kingdom

It was my first time at Disney World, but all of the parks seemed very busy, especially for the time of year. Across the parks I heard several times, people saying they had never seen the shows so busy, with Fantasmic, Indiana Jones and Lion King all being at capacity during a midweek day. Flight of...

Re: Walt Disney World - Disney's Animal Kingdom

I got to experience Avatar Land and found it to be fantastically detailed. During the day the floating rocks were the main draw, at night everything changes and the whole area is beautiful to look at and amazing to explore. It's not the largest land in terms of the number of walkways through it, but...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

Hi everyone! Just wondering if Alton Towers are planning on hosting a services day in 2019 for blue light card holders like they have in the past? Hope someone can shed some light. They have normally advertised it by now but nothing so far ☹️ I believe these are organised by Blue Light Card, who es...

Re: Safari Lodges Development

Why do Merlin have such an aversion to building restaurants, especially for their 'resort' offerings? This is something that they have done well in the past and is surely something they could be capitalising on more. Chessington certainly could have proper themed restaurants - something else for the...

Re: SeaWorld Orlando

So I didn't ride Infinity Falls, as on my two visits to SeaWorld, the first time it was too cold to get Florida soaked by it and the second day it broke. I'd seen some reports of people not getting that wet from it, whilst it may be possible, I saw a lot of very very very wet people exit from it. Fr...

Re: Swarm Chris' Tropical Travels

Done! Tired, exhausted and thoroughly happy after this trip. Flight is not for another 7 hours at 6:30pm, but I have absolutely no desire to go back out into the Florida heat for final rides, so for the first time in two weeks I'm just sat, in a hotel lobby, doing my best to not fall asleep. An earl...

Re: On-Ride Breakdown Experiences

A SeaWorld Orlando break down, Antarctica Empire of the Penguin. Our car stopped rotating really early into the ride, meaning by the time we arrived at the station we were facing the wrong way and the car refused to dock. Being stuck for about 15 minutes wouldn't be so bad, but the exit station is i...

Re: Walt Disney World - Magic Kingdom

Bonus trivia, Monkey Island directly copied parts of Pirates of the Caribbean (dog jail scene) and the movies then directly copied Monkey Island (Jack Sparrow escaping in a coffin). I got asked quite a few times where I had got my map from. I only knew about it from a Tim Tracker video. Did all 5 to...

Re: Walt Disney World - Magic Kingdom

A Pirates Adventure ~ Treasures of the Seven Seas, is a fun treasure hunt across Adventure Land where your Magic Band triggers different scenes and effects. Plus you get a free fast pass to Pirates of the Caribbean after completing two. My favourite hidden element, is that the starting hut has the t...

Maybe they could be intending on having more events throughout the year?

Some more photos from Star Wars land construction from inside Toy Story land. Buildings are starting to come together and art work on some of them is in place. https://i.imgur.com/Umv156Q.jpg https://i.imgur.com/ZEHfV7E.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Lli5JKu.jpg https://i.imgur.com/wOniIdK.jpg

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

I believe that's one of the of the reasons why it's closed during Fright Nights, is to give more maintenance time.

I'm not seeing the rapids being removed. It would cost a lot to remove and we saw them testing the updated raft design with the gates a few months ago.

Re: Alton Towers Resort Future - General Discussion & Wishes

Agree, for me the parks are hugely about what you can make of them. Some parks make it easier than others, by having the ability to hop around things. I think this is what Alton really needs, simple filler things that you can wander into randomly between big attractions.
