Re: Your Favourite TV Shows

The Good Place, Netflix A fantastic light-hearted comedy series about a woman (Kristen Bell) who ends up in the afterlife, which is managed by Ted Danson. As a series, it mostly makes its own rules, with an ongoing thread of story throughout. A few episodes are sitcom-ish in nature, but it has so fa...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

Unsure about this time, but this is the second time its been down this season. When it was down a few weeks ago they were working on the control boxes on each arm and had the cherry picker out, so it's already had one fairly large service. Looks like Rumba Rapids also went out of service yesterday a...

Re: Colossus

Did anyone else hear the sigh of relief coming from Merlin's accountants? Run the parks with the minimum operations that can be gotten away with to save money, then a big attraction goes out of service with a potentially very costly repair! Maybe a 2019 repaint and tidy up, but otherwise I think it'...

Re: Project Zer0 - Specu1ation

Why has this thread been unlocked? It has nothing to do with Thorpe Park.  It creates discussion, which is what online forums are all about ;) It should probably come with a health warning of not giving any personal info to this site and not to follow the real world aspects of it. One of the "...

Re: Disneyland Resort

It's back running at the correct speed! :)

Shame once they fix World of Color it won't run very often in the dark.

I fear the sound track might become irritating on this. California Screamin' was a fairly calm and relaxing coaster.

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

It's not Merlin related. The website and everything surrounding it is still as dodgy as it was before. Now that Thorpe have confirmed it isn't them, suddenly the story coming from the supposed people behind this changes to, well we never said it was Thorpe. Despite the whole thing surrounding an ima...

Re: FIA Formula One World Championship - General Discussion

Brendon Hartley kicks off the Honda grid penalties. Drops to the back of the grid regardless of qualifying, with a 35 place grid penalty for changing pretty much everything. Also this circuit is crazy! A testing circuit not really designed for racing. Which driver will be the first to take the wrong...

Re: Disneyland Resort

And World of Color.

They managed to destroy some of the electrics for it whilst completing the refurbishment. Apparently they flooded something that really should never have had water near it.

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

Price £0.00, interesting.

Didn't think this would be a free event and it's not listed as included with season pass on the website. But strange to include that part if it isn't, or at least some aspect of it is free.

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

Thorpe apparently has a new summer map, which I'm sure will finally resolve the question of whether Colossus was meant to shut down. https://i.imgur.com/LNWn4kn.jpg Source:  @CorkscrewCoast  on Twitter. Trouble is, if you look on their website for the online version, you find that they haven't updat...

Re: Disneyland Resort

Attractions Magazine have released two videos from Incredicoaster.  The first is the highly polished preview, which shows the pretty fun launch effect with Dash running alongside the train. It also shows the tunnel effects in their best light. IlhMOt7S0qU The second video is the actual on-ride POV, ...

Re: Colossus

They've been somewhat quick in listing it closed on the website - there's also a note on the Colossus information page saying that it is unavailable. Given the area they've closed, it just doesn't seem like the normal suspects of trains, station or lift hill motor failing. Their ageing ride selectio...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

Paintball would make a lot of sense from the realism aspect. But if this is going to have actors, they'll have to be paying them danger money! I'm assuming the QR codes go to the standard Thorpe website? Although they have covered them up in the photos so maybe they give more info. Edit: Took a clos...

Nope.

Day 3 of Colossus being closed.

Edit: Colossus has been added to the Thorpe Park website ticker, stating it is closed along with Vortex. So looks like they're expecting it to be closed for some time.

Re: Colossus

I can't tell if you're joking about the swans, Chris :lol Maybe... maybe not :lol. I mean it is a little late, but we're just about within swan nesting season according to Google and there are a huge number of swans in the area. The wet and secluded nature of that part is somewhat perfect for them....

Re: Colossus

From the look of the terrible operations they seemed to have across the park today, no, they need the capacity that the Colossus queue provides. Sadly I don't see this as a planned closure for good. They would have milked the "ride it one last time" aspect. Could be an environmental issue....

Re: Colossus

It certainly suggests something not particularly great going on. Blocking off where they have closes the hot-dog vendor and shop, suggesting that something near the cobra roll is going to be worked on. Last weekend I spotted some staff taking note of things at the gate opposite Samurai, which looks ...

Colossus has been closed since yesterday and today it appears they have closed off the walkway through the Colossus area. https://i.imgur.com/5uKSGSV.jpg Little concerning that they've had to close one of the main arteries of the park off, unless maintenance are actively working in the area.
