Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

This is a really good read, full of nostalgia and memories of the 2018 season- my first full season as a full-fledged theme park enthusiast!

Re: Alton Towers Resort Future - General Discussion & Wishes

If they are a separate ride, that would be great! The park needs more flat rides, so this could be a brilliant addition to the park! They might be junior drop towers, but they are still flat rides nonetheless. I don’t think they’ll go in Cbeebies Land, that area of the park has plenty of flat rides....

Re: Alton Towers Resort Future - General Discussion & Wishes

What I was thinking is that they'll be in the Dungeons. One of them could run all the time, but they would run both of them at peak times. They could share the same queue line because I've seen this idea on The Simpsons Ride at Universal Studios Florida. This is because there are multiple simulators...

Re: Alton Towers Resort Future - General Discussion & Wishes

This is interesting. I think this will go in the new AT Dungeons, but who knows at this point in time.
Nearly every Dungeons in existence has a drop tower-style ride, so I could be right about them going in the Dungeons.

“Unique” sleeping experience... it isn’t like you can get the same experience elsewhere for under half the price...

I like the look of these, but I don’t like them as much as the Stargazing Pods. And Chessington doesn’t need more accommodation!

Re: Alton Towers Resort Future - General Discussion & Wishes

I agree with you Nickolai. I personally think the magic never went away, but if they could re add the SRQs and add at least 2 new flat rides, that would be good.

Is the “farm song” “The Chicken Song” from Charlie and Lola?

They look very nice, better than what I was expecting! Sure, there isn’t Europea-Park full-on theming, but at least they have character and they feel slightly magical.

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

That’s good, because someone could smuggle in real-life gun pellets in a toy gun, and that wouldn’t be the best!

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

The Smiler didn’t offer individual fast tracks when it first opened, so I’m thinking that will be the case for WM, too.

Re: Alton Towers Stargazing Pods - Opening April 12th 2019

I really like the idea of a takeout breakfast. It saves time, reduces queues, and it sounds better then the cancelled burger vans. Also bed linen AND a round of golf? £88-£123 is quite a good deal for this accomo, given it's on the Towers site. What did you expect? Travelodge prices? This is Merlin ...

Re: Alton Towers Resort Merchandise

I agree there Justin. They look tacky, cheap, and not worth buying. I found a London Eye one at the London Eye shop, and it looks equally bad. Keep in mind this is all my opinion.

Re: ‘Stargazing Pods’ Accommodation Discussion

Maybe they named them Stargazing Pods
because 'Queuing for Everything Pods' doesn't roll off the tongue as easily.
Also Swarm Chris, those simulated view telescopes could be added, knowing Merlin. They love gimmicks as much as they love accommodation, sanctuaries and not adding flat rides.
