Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

My bag's always been fine but I lost two vintage theme park badges at Alton Towers last week.

Re: Songs that remind you of rides

Rhinestone Cowboy reminds me of queueing for Loggers Leap.  :D

Re: Your 2018 Theme Park Goals

I have fairly modest plans as I'm a pauper at the moment.  :lol - Spend a week at Alton Towers [did it last week] - 4 or 5 trips to Thorpe Park [going next week for the first time this year] - 1 or 2 trips to Paultons Park to check out the new Peppa Pig World rides, haha - Chessington once or twice ...

Re: Funny Things You've Overheard at Parks

Mentioned this in another thread, but I had a kid queueing in front of me for Galactica and he thought the VR was a video of the ride itself.  :lol

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - The Past

I had a school trip to the farm on a closed season day in the early 90s for a 'safety day', haha!

I'd love to know too - that accent is just delicious!

Re: Project 2020

The loggers leap site wasn't listed in their rollercoaster development area in the plans put up for changes of use to some of the land. Currently the island behind Swarm, Swarm island and the land to the right of the dome as you enter are marked rollercoaster development sites. So loggers hasn't be...

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

Queue time was averaging 10 - 20 minutes last week - absolutely brilliant! I did see quite a few people leaving their seats as they were too big for the restraints. As a chubby girl that fills me with dread, haha.  :|

Re: What did you ride on your first visit?

My very first ride at Alton Towers was Nemesis. I can still remember the taste of iron in my mouth as all the blood rushed to my head first thing in the morning.  :lol

Re: On-Ride Breakdown Experiences

I had a brilliant breakdown on Thi3teen just after the freefall drop.I love that dark room and when the emergency lights came on I got to have a proper look at all the theming. People were genuinely terrified that another train was going to land on top of us, haha!

Re: Project 2020

As a B&M fangirl I'd be thrilled with a hypercoaster but I can't imagine where they'd squeeze it in! I don't want Loggers Leap to go.

Re: Alton Towers Hotel & Splash Landings

Only issue I had was in the midpriced room that comes with the giant teddy bear, because they're close to the foyer and it doesn't have enough sound proofing to block the music from there. I was in a Moon Voyage room and I couldn't hear a single thing! The mid-priced rooms go right to the very end ...

Re: Oblivion - General Discussion

Oblivion was very, very slow to dispatch this week. I must've been sitting waiting to go back into the station for at least 5 minutes.

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - The Past

I grew up in Ottershaw so Thorpe Park was my playground 5 minutes down the road - lots of happy memories there! Phantom Fantasia/Wicked Witches Haunt was my absolute favourite ride and I'd force my poor parents to go on it over and over and over and over... it's such a shame that it burnt down. I'd ...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

Funny thing whilst waiting in the unneccessary queue, though - there was a kid in front of me who thought the VR part of the ride was a video of the ride itself, and he didn't see the point. :lol Brilliant! And such a missed opportunity by Alton for an April fools day prank. One day a year replace ...

Re: Alton Towers Hotel & Splash Landings

I stayed in the Alton Towers Hotel for the first time this week and I was pleasantly surprised - some of the reviews on TripAdvisor make it sound like a hellhole but I had a lovely room at the end of a quiet corridor and a view of the lake! Went to Splash Landings for the water park on Wednesday and...

Re: Ride Downtime

Should I be worried? Looking at booking a trip for May 10th - 11th.  I wouldn't stress too much - I'd been reading about the dire operations at the park for the past month and when I got there this week, everything was absolutely fine! Wicker Man went down a few times but I never waited more than 2...

Re: Duel - General Discussion

I had a lot of re-rides on Duel this week - enjoyed it much more than I did a few years ago. I still hate the laser guns and ride without using them, and some rooms need to be a little darker, but overall it's a fun experience. The new music is BRILLIANT.

The tunnel is still broken!
