Re: Alton Towers Stargazing Pods - Opening April 12th 2019

I would rather they create a good camping field, with hookups and a nice toilet block, so I could rock up with an Outwell Monty 6p... Far more comfortable than these pods  :lol

Re: People Smoking Outside Of Designated Areas

Those ‘cloud chasers’ have a lot to answer for. Before sub ohming, and cloud chasers, most indoor places allowed vaping, it was inoffensive and didn’t cause anybody any bother. Then some folk started going too far, blowing out giant plumes of thick, sweet smelling, vapour and all hell broke loose.  ...

Re: Liseberg

According to their website Balder is open but Helix isn't (https://www.liseberg.com/rides-attractions/). I'm not surprised really, I've ridden Blue Fire during the Europa winter season (~5c-7c) and it CRAWLED around the track. Honestly it was so close to rolling back or stalling around the layout I...

Re: Liseberg

Apparently most of their rides, including Helix and Balder are open for the Christmas season. Does anybody know how reliable they are in the cold?

Re: People Smoking Outside Of Designated Areas

AT Seriously need to look at their smoking policy, their attitude towards vaping and policing of said polices. First, what’s the point in a policy if not enforced? Might as well do away with it altogether and just ask poeple not to smoke in queues, or better yet, enforce it. Secondly, they need to e...

Re: Alton Towers Resort Future - General Discussion & Wishes

Alton has its faults, but I am a firm believer it is actually what you make of each visit. People are quick to complain, but when you take a step back, it is a beautiful park with some great attractions. I think some areas need work to bring them up to standard, but hopefully TLC will continue to s...

As a water ride it's very different to tidal wave and offers a very different experience

Yeh, I guess Tidal Wave could be a bit much for the smaller children, the 0.9m height restriction on the rapids makes them more accessible to families than TW at 1.2m

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

To be fair AltonOperator, I have only ridden it a couple of times, both times it was souless, no themeing / effects / elements at all, just a gentle boat ride. Could just have been bad runs.  Problem is, the ones I go with won’t ride it again, even when we have island unlimited because they were wit...

Re: Galactica - General Discussion

Same here, the VR queue was really long, some of our hadn’t done it so we had to join that queue. What made it worse was that there were only 2 rows of VR for the main queue, with the back row being used for the ride access pass holders.  I would have to say that if there was an equal amount of usab...

Wouldn’t be the worst thing if it was removed, worst rapids I’ve ever ridden.

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

Yes that's me on the left, I hope you don't mind, I've downloaded a copy of the pic to my laptop.  It was great meeting you.  It was a great weekend, The fireworks were amazing. It was a great end to the season. Don’t mind at all, I had hoped you’d like a copy when I put it up, last ride of the sea...

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

It’s brilliant at night, absoloutely amazing. Got our last ride of the season on it last night and I was batched with a TT and TS member some of you may know. It was great meeting and talking to you, I tried to find you after I’d regrouped my family to have a chat but you’d dissappeared into the nig...

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach

The second launch acts as a block brake, if the computer thinks the next section isn't clear then it'll stop the train there. Despite being short the second launch straight can accelerate the train fast enough to clear the second half of the circuit. All double launch coasters have this feature, it...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

Those festoon led lights don’t look great in the day do they? But they do look georgeous at night IMO  I’m a vaper, I don’t do it in queue lines, I sometimes have a quick suck, not enough to blow anything out, but that’s it... However, I do not use the designated smoking areas either. I use e cigar...

Re: Alton Towers rides for the larger person

I’m 18 1/2 stone and 6’3” tall, no problem getting on any rides in this country, including spinball. Don’t usually need any assistance either, except for on Collosus at Thorpe Park. And that’s more to do with my shoulders. After they force the restraint down on Collosus my shoulders are pinned tight...

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach

So it stopped on the second launch? All mirror overdramatisation aside, that is an odd place for it to stop. Anybody know why it stopped so short on the second launch when it should be carrying enough momentum without the LSM’s to make the end of that straight? Are there brakes there that kicked in?...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

Urgent. Anyone got a Merlin Annual Pass prebooked ticket for today? Rang up yesterday and was told and didn’t need to prebook as was promised as if turned up early would get in. However, we were turned away at the turnstiles and currently waiting in a holding pen. Preferably need 3 but 1 would be f...

We just happened to be given the back row then he tried to move us to the front and we said we kinda wanted the back and he was very cool about it he just said yeah that's absolutely fine and left it at that. I just read about that on your review... It reminded me of the inbetweeners  :lol To be fa...
