It got sent to the scrap heap :lol

Bit of a late reply, but quite a lot of the ride is actually up by Merlin Studios North, behind Cloud Cuckoo Land.

Re: FIA Formula One World Championship - General Discussion

I think it's more likely that Sainz will end up at Mclaren (he's out of favour with Marko and his past working relationship with Verstappen at Toro Rosso wasn't great, real shame though as I rate him as a great driver), then Gasly will probably take the Red Bull seat. It's looking like Hartley may g...

Re: FIA Formula One World Championship - General Discussion

Another yawnfest of a race, despite the overtakes from Bottas and Vettel as they came back through the field.

Re: Alton Towers Magic Making Museum

It would be a fantastic addition to the resort, and not necessarily something that would only be targeted at enthusiasts. It's not unusual to hear the general public reminiscing about old rides and attractions. Towers have rather large archives, I'm sure they could quite easily create some sort of m...

Re: Wicker Man Reviews & Discussion [SPOILERS]

Excellent addition to the park, perhaps the most "complete" ride that Merlin have created in my opinion. It's not the best woodie I've ridden; but it is a really fun ride, plenty of speed to it and the theming is top notch for the UK industry. The pre show is incredible, and was a real sur...

Re: Past rides: "Where are they now?" The Guide

That is a photo of the Showboat at Drayton Manor, it was in operation as a fun house up until the late 1990's, and has remained in situ albeit closed since then. They used to be very common across theme parks.

Awesome, you've done a great job of the B&M and Intamin track! :D

I look forward to seeing more drawings.

I'm fairly terrible at drawing but I may be tempted to contribute something at some point.

Justin, your drawings are great! Really helps to visualise what could potentially be underneath the sheeting.

Re: Album's You've Heard and Your Review

These couple of albums have been getting played a lot by me over the last couple of months. It's a bit of a departure from my usual listening material, but there's is some seriously impressive singing/instrument playing and composition talent in this band. I am looking to go to this park Feb does anyone know if their big mega coaster will be finished by then. I know the park is currently expanding but just have no idea what stage its all at.

Not sure to be honest, but looking at their website it appears they are only open April to October.

Big thanks go to Andy and Chantelle and the rest of the Thorpe Park, along with those involved in organising everything internally. See y...

Re: SW8 Construction Discussion

Great photos everyone, I live up in not so sunny Scotland and I'm lucky if I get a trip to Towers once every 2-3 years so I really appreciate them! I really don't see the lift being launched, the banking looks much like any other dropping turn off a lift, I think it will be a LIM/LSM type lift hill...

Re: SW8 Construction Discussion

It doesn't look to have a very big first drop, similar to Nemesis. Will the drop be a curved drop, similar to Mystic Timbers, or a flat turn followed by a straight down drop? ;) Whatever style it is, John Wardley said at TTSP@15 that it will be a lot more thrilling than originally planned before hi...
