Re: SP Summer Sizzler 2017 - Reviews & Feedback

Great to see all of your faces again, thanks for coming along! Once again Thorpe performed brilliantly for us and I hope you all enjoyed the day as much as I did. Big thanks go to Andy and Chantelle and the rest of the Thorpe Park, along with those involved in organising everything internally. See y...

Re: SW8 Construction Discussion

Great photos everyone, I live up in not so sunny Scotland and I'm lucky if I get a trip to Towers once every 2-3 years so I really appreciate them! I really don't see the lift being launched, the banking looks much like any other dropping turn off a lift, I think it will be a LIM/LSM type lift hill...

Re: Legacy of Arrow Development documentary

It's a really great documentary, enjoyed watching it last year when it came out.

Arrow did some incredible work in their time.

Re: SW8 Construction Discussion

It doesn't look to have a very big first drop, similar to Nemesis. Will the drop be a curved drop, similar to Mystic Timbers, or a flat turn followed by a straight down drop? ;) Whatever style it is, John Wardley said at TTSP@15 that it will be a lot more thrilling than originally planned before hi...

TowersTimes/SouthParks Planned Downtime

As some of you may know we are currently in the process of migrating TTSP to a new server, this work is almost complete. However, there is still a bit to do, and this is planned to be undertaken throughout Saturday night and into Sunday morning, during this time both the website and forum will be un...

Re: Album's You've Heard and Your Review

So kind of copying Jack's post, but seeing as I love Alestorm I thought I may as well add my review too! ALESTORM - NO GRAVE BUT THE SEA (Deluxe Edition) For anyone who doesn't know about Alestorm, they're a rather epic pirate metal band from Scotland and this is their 5th album. They don't ...

I still think it looks rather small!!

Towers seem to have a history of cramming quite a lot into small areas, just look at Nemesis of The Smiler! It's very exciting to start seeing this take shape, they've made excellent progress with the ground works over the last few months.

Re: SW8 Speculation and Discussion

Talking of the weather, won't a wooden coaster be tremendously expensive to maintain with all the weathering etc.? Unfortunately yes, wooden coasters do require a lot more maintenance than a steel coaster. Merlin appears to have struggled with maintenance on their existing wooden coaster over at He...

Re: SW8 Speculation and Discussion

Really rubbish day weather wise today, lot of rain, hope it doesn't slow them up too much this week Yeah, it's certainly been a bit drizzly in Staffordshire this week so far. Theoretically, now that the majority of the ground works appear to of been completed, weather shouldn't be a major factor fo...

Re: Legendia/Śląskie Wesołe Miasteczko

Is it me, or is that a tree made out of pipes in the first image? It does look quite pipey, they look to be round tubular steel sections with flanged ends to joint the individual parts together. It's nice to see a park constructing their theming out of such durable materials, should hopefully mean ...

Re: Legendia/Śląskie Wesołe Miasteczko

More progress has been made, all of the track work is complete (no word on whether any testing has been going on yet) and plenty of work done on the theming. They've also built a new entrance area to the park which looks lovely! http://i.imgur.com/D9Ji64C.jpg http://i.imgur.com/mXy1abU.jpg http://i....

Really dreadful news, my thoughts are with everyone involved. :( Drayton Manor is such a lovely park and I have great memories from there, it was the first ever theme park I visited (not that I can remember the visit that well). Me with a donkey in the Drayton Manor Zoo around 1994. http://ravenwing...

First thing to say is a massive thank you to all of you lovely people for attending the event, without you guys none of this would be possible. It's always great to see the returnees who've been coming consistently for the past few years, the new faces who are attending their first TTSP event and th...

Re: SW9

The car park behind Galactica would seem the most likely location for a new large scale thrill addition, if that's what SW9 turns out to be. That area has been earmarked for development for quite some time now. Anywhere else around the Towers would obviously require the removal of some pre-existing ...
