Re: Thorpe Park Resort - The Future

Thorpe have loads of land to use. Bear in mind they could build a coaster with a station next to I'm a celeb, running all the way down to the former train maintenance garage. Not to mention the Slammer site, and the route of Loggers. If Merlin actually have the best interests of the park in mind, th...

Re: Disneyland Resort

The same is happening with Epcot though - look at the Guardian's coaster going in there. Star Wars being installed in Disneyland in California, yet the movie themed park in Orlando? Some of DCA was a dump in the past, so although the original direction is not being kept to, the new additions have be...

Re: General Forum Discussion

Being quite honest, I am not sure if there is the demand for a new forum on the subject. Best place for a topic of this nature would be either European Parks and Attractions , or Rest of World Parks and Attractions . Topics like the Merlin Annual Pass do not fit these topics as such, but seem to gen...

Re: London Entertainment Resort - General Discussion

No one is working on this project, it is a project to hook in gullible investors and profit off the money made. It sounds a bit like a Ponzi scheme to be honest. In your opinion.. Until we officially hear the project is dead, it is difficult to speculate. Historically there have been many quiet per...

Re: Chessington - General Discussion

Oh and also why is it when the train comes into the station it 'stops' three times, seems really inefficient and pointless?

The station track is sloped, so the train relies on gravity to move. The brakes stop the train overshooting. If it does, the restraints will not open.

Such an incredible park. What's the betting that the entire facade will be back along that route next year?

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

People see it as a free fastrack.

Well if that is how guests see it, and the parks are letting it happen, then it is not being managed properly.

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

Nice to hear that the restraint issue is getting resolved, but I still have never seen a GCI with so much downtime.

Maybe they should use the extra host to open a closed bag room on one of the other coasters, instead of for this silly idea.

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

When you are Merlin and have a situation like that with a two hour queue, you would just screw the barriers and leave them all open so everyone can leave in a timely manner right? I mean, put the guest experience first? Merlin seem to be the only company that causes guests to get angry OUTSIDE their...

Re: The Walking Dead: Living Nightmare Extreme

I just don't see the appeal of having a Halloween attraction open in the height of summer. I don't want to celebrate 'The Walking Dead' when it is 28c outside - it's for October. I want to hear happy, exciting music when walking over the bridge, not zombies, screams, and a morbid theme song suitable...

Re: SP Southern Screamer - 9th June 2018 - Discussion

We have had a few queries and concerns regarding the price increase. Since 2014, the price of the summer / spring Thorpe Park events has been around the £17 mark - so we have been lucky not to experience any price increases since then. This event took a long time to plan - and one of the sticking po...

Re: Merlin General Discussion

The whole pay on exit set up is a nightmare, and always has been. At Disney and Universal, you pay on entry via cash or card, and receive a friendly welcome. At Merlin parks, you enjoy your day, probably forget that you have to buy a car park token, and / or just get generally pissed off at having t...

More of a general SeaWorld Parks topic - but good news for the parks having a stronger than expected last quarter.

Take that, PETA.

Re: London Entertainment Resort - General Discussion

Yes, same.

The amount of information in the update shows that LRCH have been very busy. Not that it is too relevant at the planning stage, but they should really keep the general public up to date a bit more to encourage consistent support for the project.

Most people have given up hope!
