Re: London Entertainment Resort - General Discussion

As I said before, OPTIMISM! The Resort would not keep announcing fundamental pieces of infrastructure like transportation, hotels etc if it was not going to happen. We have been hearing from them at least every month now. To draw up an agreement with TFL is a huge deal. You could jump on a boat from...

El Toro is a better version of it all round, so take a flight to New Jersey and ride some other world class coasters while you are there :)

Re: SW8 Speculation and Discussion

I'm not sure a fire effect is a good idea? It's a wooden coaster. Correct me if I am wrong, but the fire effects were removed from Wodan at the top of the lift due to an obvious risk of an incident. Seeing the track bed go down on most of the layout now, I'm really excited for this coaster. Nice to ...

Re: Little BIG City Berlin

So this is basically where the profts from the theme parks are going to.. I want to be excited about the attraction, but I feel it is another 'visit once and never again', like most of the other midway attractions, if you aren't their typical family audience. Guess it is a reason to increase the pri...

Re: SW8 Speculation and Discussion

I don't have any confidence that Merlin can look after rides like SW8 long term. - Nemesis was neglected for years and finally a fanfare made over 'TLC' and a three-year project as they had no choice but to keep it running due to its popularity. - Loggers Leap was left to rot so had to close and req...

Re: Thorpe Park - General Discussion

Tidal Wave's water stays at a constant level to ensure the boat is slowed down appropriately. If the water level goes down, a sensor will trigger an alarm and the ride will shut down.

There are pumps near the station that push water around the circuit to ensure the boats keep moving.

Re: SW8 Speculation and Discussion

Lateral G's are fine in a flat section of track, as long as the coaster tracks well and remains smooth.

I rode Stampida again last week, and although a different manufacturer, the flat sections are hell - and this is after being retracked two years ago.

Re: SW8 Construction Discussion

The curved flat section of track does baffle me. Surely it cannot be going at any decent speed during this part without banking, leading to a complete dead spot?

Re: Disneyland Resort Paris

WIth DIsney now taking full ownership of the resort, and the fact that there is no longer a hefty licensing fee to pay, I am hoping for some serious investment in the next few years. It seems like Walt Disney were able to hijack the existing Euro Disney Hotel New York renovation plans and up the gam...
