Looks like a lovely addition and should smarten up the south entrance.

Re: Six Flags Dubai

Google have updated the maps for Dubai Parks & Resorts which now clearly show Six Flags Dubai very much under construction. Exciting to see.

Link.

Re: The Merlin Annual Pass

Lewis made a valid point earlier - an odd move to tell people they can’t come to your parks, after seeing a decline in visitation this year..

It's not like the parks are ALL opening huge attractions where visitor numbers are forecast to be huge.

Re: SW8 Construction Discussion

Yeah, we almost reported these in the article as anti-rollbacks but quickly realised they were also being installed in places where it would make no logical sense.

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

Hi all, I wonder if anyone can advise if it’s possible to visit the Towers complex without having to pay for access to the whole park (out of season maybe)? I’m currently building a model of the house with Lego, so would be good to get in the palaces not normally open to the public, so I ca...

Re: SW8 Construction Discussion

Will be interesting to see what exactly is in the show section, and how fast the train will go through it.

If it is dark ride pace, then having three trains makes absolute sense.

Re: Thorpe Park - The Future

Thorpe Park have posted a fun video to wrap up the 2017 season, along with a cryptic message "We'll meet you at the safe zone in 2018.."

What do you think this could mean?

They have also uploaded a coming soon for 2018 page.

Re: Six Flags Dubai

Thanks for the update, and glad to see progress. I do think it is wise to open the park on a smaller scale bearing in mind the peformance of the rest of the resort. Disappointing to hear that the Kingda Ka beater will not happen, and no B&M - it is these type of rides which would stand the park ...

Re: SW8 Construction Discussion

Yes - it is very much a construction site so don't take anything there as being finished. The park will need the extra route capacity for Fireworks crowds.
I believe that the temporary pathway behind the ride will be closed and used as a staff access route only - but we shall see!

Re: SW8 Construction Discussion

There's definitely a washing machine element inside it! :P In all seriousness, there's no reason why they have not constructed the track inside other than the structure has been heavily under construction up until now, blocking access through it. You can now see where the track is being built inside...

Re: Merlin General Discussion

Having read the report and watched the presentation, I am generally concerned about the future of the parks. I'll be quite honest - I don't care much for Merlin's Midway attractions. For me, they are a 'do once and don't bother again' type experience. Generally they don't change from year to year (w...

Exciting! Although the park has some epic attractions anyway, I feel it is missing an iconic coaster to attract thrillseekers world wide.
